At the time of the inspection I thought it was good. However, after we purchased the home based on his inspection report I can say he missed a few major issues. John preformed an inspection of our home in 2014 as part of the purchasing process. He was very pleasant and responded to my request quickly. The inspection report was received the next day and indicated that he found no defects with the electrical panel and sub panel, the exterior wood framing around the windows had no defects, the crawl space under the three season sun porch had no defects. It turns out that the electrical sub panel was not installed properly (double tapped), 8 casement windows on the sun porch had visible rot, the crawl space had three joists and approximately a 4 x4 ft. section of the sub floor rotted and covered with mold. One of the joists had such significant rot that the middle of the joist was laying on the ground. John did give us a partial refund of $100.00 when I reported the electrical and window issues. However, the cost to repair and replace the electrical and 5 of the windows was over $3,500. We still have 3 windows left to replace estimated to cost $1,000. Had the issues described above been noted on John's report we could have negotiated the selling price of the home with owner based on the cost of needed repairs.

I hired Jon of Castle and Keep, to do a Home Inspection on my house. He is licensed, insured, punctual and had detailed knowledge of his job. He provided me with many photos as well as a checklist of systems checked. He took the time to talk to me and answer all my questions. He is definitely a competent home inspector, very honest (a trait I value). I would highly recommend him. Thank you for a job well done. Another satisfied customer, Evelyn Cox
