Description of Work: We were planning to go with a big box store. Even though their showroom was close to home, I had never noticed it before. When I passed by, I decided to stop in. The showroom seemed a bit too upscale for us. But since Stan seemed ready and willing to help me, I figured it would be worth spending the time just to get information and a professional opinion. He must have spent 40 minutes with me and I really learned a lot, started thinking about things I would not have thought about otherwise. After we had made our rounds to three big box stores and to the kitchen design shop that did our ennovation before we downsized, I thought I would include Cabintry Ideas for comparison. We spent a lot of time with each service provider. I left each with a basic template for the redesign of our small galley kitchen (mid-century ranch) and with a list of specs of the type of cabinets, finish and features we were desiring. When all the bids came in, Cabinetry Ideas was the highest as expected - but not by that much, unexpected. Stan seemed to have more experience than the others. He seemed to have better ideas and came up with more innovation and practical solutions. When we were struggling with the cost issue, he found a way (a small discount from the local manufacturer - Greenfield and another small discount for paying the entire cabinet cost - less installation - up front). Because they had an excellent Angie's list rating, we felt comfortable with proceeding. We purchase cabinets and installation. We decided to get countertops directing from a fabricator as Cabinetry Ideas just contracts this portion out. Cabnets arrived on time, were installed on time. Fred, the installer, was excellent. Stan came out several times. Both Stan and Fred came back to help solve a sticky door issue. We are very happy we went with Cabintry Ideas

+ -1 moreI called Cabinetry Ideas looking for a kitchen designer and was transferred to J. D. Dick. He was very friendly, provided lots of detailed information over the phone, and called back while we were on vacation to see if we were interested in following up. I stopped by the showroom unannounced when I was in the area to meet him before making my decision about whom to retain. He dropped what he was doing and spent an hour with me, showing me their design capabilities, cabinet ideas and even look at our house plans to suggest a general approach for the remodel without charging for his time. Although I selected a designer in "solo practice" with whom I just "clicked," I would recommend Cabinetry ideas and J. D. for anyone who values aesthetically outstanding and artistically creative design.
Description of Work: I got an estimate for design services and a lot of design ideas.

+ 0 moreWe have an old house with old cabinets. The cabinets were really solid - and now they look like brand new cabinets, absolutely beautiful. I feel like I'm in a new house. They were great.
