C & A's Chimney Sweep & Lawn Maintenance Services

Tim was very nice. When he arrived he placed covers over my carpets to keep them clean from the machines he uses and the fireplace soot. He cleaned and checked the chimney flue and grate. When he was finished, the fireplace was spotless and the glass screens were cleaned too. He's very nice and competent. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

Hired Tim through a special Angie's List offer of a $99 Chimney Sweep. We use our fireplace everyday and our chimney was in bad need of cleaning. Tim was a bit late due to having the wrong street name for our address, but was very apologetic. He did a great job with the chimney. Cleaned the whole area around it including stains on our tile that I didn't think could be cleaned. Very professional, clean and friendly. Gave us good tips on wood supplier and even on landscaping while he was there. Will definitely use again.

The service provider spent almost 3 hours cleaning our chimney. He offered me tips and helpful information and answered all of my questions. He also provided a catalog of fireplace accessories after I asked for advice about obtaining a new grate and new screen. He did not push his products, simply offered helpful suggestions. He was very thorough (3 hours!) and professional, and took great care to protect rugs, furniture, and floors as he worked. Very polite and professional, and a job well done! I would definitely hire Tim Anderson of C & A Chimney Sweeps again, and plan to call him for work in the spring.

My appollogies I forgot his name... in fact this report is a bit delayed but very much deserved. I am a relatively new member to Angies List and just hired a whole slew of various services to help renovate a house. C&A was a great starting point. Let me paint the picture. A dirty fireplace in a room where the carpet was about to be torn up and replaced. Enter C&A ~ courteous, respectfull, etc. Later he departs the chimney and fireplace are spotless, and the carpet completely vacumed and tidy. Here's a guy who is concerned about his customers. Would I hire him again? Absolutely! ... Turns out he also does handyman work and I have already organized one of his next jobs.

My first purchase of a Angie's List Big Deal went very well from start to finish. Once the Big Deal was purchased I was able to print off the coupon with no issues. I then contacted Tim from C&A's Chimney Sweep and I was able to set up an appoitment very easily. Tim, owner of C&A came out to my home today and went out of his way to make this experience excellant. He made sure all my carpets and furniture were covered appropriately. My screen to the fireplace stuck a bit and he fixed it without charge. He was very professional and would recommend him and his company to anyone without hesitation.

Tim (owner) and I scheduled a time a week in advance for the chimney cleaning. He called approximately 15 minutes in advance of arriving to confirm our appointment and address. He laid down material from the front door to the fireplace (~20 ft) to cover the carpeting. He then proceeded to clean the flue and damper for about one hour. It hadn't been cleaned in about four years, so creosote was fairly heavily built up. He vacuumed up as he worked and left the living room spotless. He then proceeded to clean the masonry brick in the fireplace and then the inside and outside of the glass doors. I was very impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. The cleaning did not include any inspection of the roof and caps, but that was out of scope for this deal. I would definitely recommend Tim and C&A for fireplace cleanings

I purchased the deal a few months ago, but waited until December to redeem it. Much to my surprise, the company was able to schedule us for a convenient appointment right away. We scheduled the appointment for a Monday afternoon. The worker had trouble finding our house, which pushed our appointment back a bit. However, I had completely forgotten about the appointment myself so I can't really put much fault on the company. Once the worker arrived, he quickly put mats down throughout my home and wore booties to ensure my floors stayed clean. The entire process took about 2 hours and wasn't very disruptive. After the work was completed, he gave quite a few tips and offered suggestions to help maintain our chimney/fireplace. As first time home owners, the information was quite helpful! The worker was great; very personable and obviously comfortable talking with customers. The company will call us when it's time for another cleaning (another thing I liked about them) and I have no reason not to work with them again.

We moved into our house in the spring and have never used the chimney. Before we lit a fire we want to get our chimney checked out. It went very well, answered all of my questions and left no mess. He was very careful to leave every thing clean. He was very personable and felt comfortable with him in our home.

It went wonderfully. The gentleman was very pleasant and left the place spotless when he finished. He also had several helpful hints for someone who had never started a fire in a fireplace.

Tim was very prompt, super nice and did a fantastic job! He also gave me the phone number of a lumber guy to buy firewood at a discounted price. I would definitely recommend Tim to any friend or family member!

Called on a Saturday to have chimney cleaned due to a furnace out and wood burning stove backing up with smoke. Mr. Anderson came out early Sunday morning and cleaned the system, explained workings of stove to tenant in this rental, and went above and beyond to make sure the system worked and was clean. Would highly recommend this company for professionalism, cost, punctuality.

Tim arrived right on time, was very pleasant and a pleasure to have in our home. He was tidy, kind and a true professional. He spent about 2 hours repairing the flu and performing the chimney cleaning. We were thrilled with the price, especially because it seemed like he had to put in a lot of extra effort to fix the flu problem that another contractor caused. We would definitely use C&A again, and would recommend him to anyone needing Chimney work! In fact, we already gave one of his business cards to a friend. If there were an A+++++ option, I would have selected it!

Tim and Sheri (Tim's wife and office manager) are wonderful people, and it was a pleasure working with them! They were both very professional, and Tim called to let me know when he was on his way. I had a different home repair scheduled at the same time as my appointment with C&A, but this was not at all a problem for Tim--he was very understanding of my time. Tim covered the entire floor surface with large tarps from my door to the chimney before beginning any work in order to keep my home clean, and he wore booties on his shoes the whole time. Tim went the extra mile by cleaning not only my chimney, but also the glass on my fireplace doors--it looks like a brand new fireplace! He shared honest input and information with me about some needed repairs to the chimney, and is willing to do as much as he can to keep those costs low (I will be scheduling this repair with C&A because of my experience with them this time). Tim made sure I was completely satisfied with the work before leaving. And Sheri followed up with an email the next day to make sure all was well. It's wonderful to have confidence in using my chimney this winter! Thanks C&A!

It was not that pleasant of an experience. I called on Friday and was quoted $125.00 for the service and he told me he could get here on Monday. He was talking on a phone while driving and I had to repeat myself multiple times. I had received a quote from another company for that same price and they could do it on Saturday but I waited until Monday because with the coupon he has on Angies List it should have only cost me $100.00. He calls me Sunday and pushes up the meeting time on Monday to 8:00. I had to manage a project that Sunday night so I was exhausted Monday but still managed to get out of bed. He however decided to sleep in and be late. I waited all weekend for him and even though he knew at the beginning I found him on Angies List, he comes in the door and says, I know I quoted you $125 but I charge Angies List members $150 for the service. He was there so I let him do the job, and I am sure I am not the first person he has done this to. He ask several unusual questions while he was here about my family, background, etc... I am a Black Belt, a proud member of the NRA, have a 100 Lb. German Shepherd, and an alarm system so I wasn't too concerned but I could see how someone else could feel a little unsettled by it. On further inspection I also noticed his trade license if for Louisiana, not Indiana. The fireplace is working with no problems and he cleaned up after himself so the work was good but the professionalism just wasn?t there.

We called C&A Chimney Sweep after purchasing an Angie's List "Big Deal". We made an appointment about a week ahead of the scheduled time. Tim (owner) arrived on time and was very courteous. We had put a tarp down in front of the fireplace and the dirt that was not picked up by the vacuum was constrained to the tarp. We did not put tarps down all the way to the door, and the contractor didn't either, so we had some concern that dirt was tracked across our carpet, although we didn't say anything about it to Tim. Overall, we were satisfied with the work - he took his time and did remove a lot of dirt from the chimney.

I responded to special offered emailed to me by Angie'slist. Tim came out and cleaned my chimney on the day that we agreed on. he arrived when he said he would and called before he arrived. He accomplished the work in a timely way and was friendly, flexible, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend his services and intend to have him back in the Spring at the end of fireplace season.

I took advantage of an Angie's List "Big Deal" offered by this company. I anticipated having to wait for the service due to others who purchased the chimney sweep at the same time, However, when I called he answered immediately and we figured out a time for the chimney sweep the very next day. Tim called prior to heading my direction (which I requested), he actually was early (which was wonderful!), completed the chimeny sweep and left my living room/fireplace area cleaner than it was when he arrived. I would definately recommend them for others and will!

The first time he came out we discussed the minor home repairs I needed and what products I would need to purchase. He is honest and tells me when he needs to hire someone else to perform a job. I live in a heavily wooded area and he does a very good job; it was worth the wait to get on his schedule. The price and the quality of work are excellent. He came to clean and check my chimney because he has a good knowledge of chimneys in general so he laid down coverings for the floor and cleaned up well; my chimney hasn?t looked that clean for a long time. He also cleaned my gas fire logs, which I don?t know if chimney sweeps usually do, and he did wonderfully. I can?t believe that I?ve found someone that is so honest and does such a good job for a good rate. His rate varies by the job that he is doing due to the nature of the difficulty, how time consuming it is, and the equipment he has to use. He is honest, meticulous with his work, concerned about the owner?s property, punctual, gets back to you as soon as possible, and his rates are reasonable. I just can?t say enough good things about him.

I found Tim on Angie's List and scheduled him to clean my chimney liner before fall. I had a Napoleon woodstove installed in December of 2009, and burned 2.5 cords of wood from December to April. This is the first time I had the new liner cleaned. . I picked Tim because his rate is good and he is a certified chimney sweep and member of the guild. . He arrived on time in a nice vehicle with good clean equipment and was dressed professionally in his company monogrammed oxford. . Tim asked to read the manual that came with my woodstove and the manual that came with my titanium liner. I liked it that he checked the specs before cleaning. . He spread out cloths to protect my floors and Persian carpets and set to work. The vacuum he ran in the chimney as he cleaned was very quiet and did not disturb the household. He put a ladder up on the roof and cleaned the chimney from the top down. I have a two story home and the chimney is about 9 feet or so above the roof line. The chimney liner is about 30 feet. . Tim told me I had a good amount of build up, but that it flaked off easily because I only burn good seasoned hardwood. . The job didn't take very long and I'm super glad I called him. I thought that the $125 Angie's List member deal was pretty good. I've got good peace of mind going into the fall and I can't wait until it is not 90 degrees and I get to light the first fire.

He was very polite, prompt and helpful. I was shocked that he would be kind enough to refer me to his colleagues when he wasn't able to get to the job as soon as I would like. I am having him come around for a landscaping estimate.

It had been a while since I was up on my roof to get this done. I just didn't want to go up there - admittedly it was so long that weeds and plants and things were growing out of the gunk in my gutters. Tim was great to agree to do it all.
