+ 2 moreMy appointment was for today, November 13 at 1:00pm. At 1:30 when they hadn't shown up or called me, I called them. They let me know they were behind and asked if they could reschedule me for 4 today instead. I can't do that. I changed my schedule around for todays appointment as it is. They let me know they were booked up the rest of the week too. I couldn't believe that they would just not show up to my scheduled appointment and then tell me they were too busy to reschedule. They even suggested I get a refund. I will never work with them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for lawn and yard work. I scheduled my appointment in mid to late October.

+ -1 moreWe purchased an Angie's List deal from C & A Chiminey Sweep. The company contacted us the very next day to schedule an appointment time for the following week. They called before coming to say they would be an hour late - was that ok. That was fine & they arrived on time. They prepped the area of our living room quite well to protect it from any dirt that might develop and did a very professional job on the chimney. They were here for about an hour. When they were finished, they put our room back as they had found it - even cleaned the fireplace screen. We would never have known they were here except for our very clean chiminey! They were very nice to work with. We will definitely use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreI had some problems initially getting in touch with them after purchasing the Angie's List Deal but I think it's because they don't typically schedule customers via email. Once I made a phone call, I was able to get scheduled up with no problem. On the day of service, they were running late but called to let me know. Once they arrived, the promptly got to work and got everything done and taken care of in just over half an hour.
Description of Work: Had our chimney swept and inspected. They did a great job -- very professional and very thorough. I appreciated how they were very careful in the house -- laying down floor coverings for their entire path, sweeping up hearth area and wiping down fireplace when finished. I would definitely contact them again.

Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for 6 hours of master gardening. I had wanted to do some work earlier in the summer, but it was so dry the work I wanted done was not possible. We agreed to schedule for later in the fall. I had some bushes removed, ivy pulled off the house, tree's trimmed, and a flower bed completely cleaned out among other things.

+ -1 moreWas a good experience for the price of the coupon. Only improvement would of been if they could of let us know how behind they were running. Overall we would ire them again for any of our chimney needs. I am glad they agreed to stick with the appointment date we scheduled even if it was later in the day.
Description of Work: We purchased a Big Deal coupon the company called the same day to schedule the work. Then the day before they were to come they tried to re-schedule, my husband and I are very busy and were unable to re-schedule and asked them to keep the appointment. They agreed, but let us know they were short staffed and would be running late. The appointment window was 9am-11am and they arrived after 1pm, which is fine with us because we knew they were running late, but we wish they would of let us know how late so we could of run errands in the morning. The staff was professional, neat and did a great job. Definitely worth the Big Deal purchase.

Description of Work: Weeded all flower beds around the home, including pulling up a couple of small trees and other plants; mulched the beds, bagged debris; six man hours paid for, and fully used (perhaps a bit more).

+ 1 moreGot the Angie's List Big Deal and Tim and his crew spent a Saturday weeding, trimming hedges, shrubs and trees, removing/cutting down a dead tree (stump included), and transplanting some of my plants to new locations. They worked hard the entire time they were at my house and my yard and landscaping look great.

Description of Work: I have had a great experience with Angie's List up this point. yesterday I got totally ripped off. I paid $179 for 6 man hours of yard work. I asked them to remove leaves, trim trees and edge if time was available. They showed up when they said they would but I could barely tell any work was done when I got home. a relative observed them working and was apalled. I expected a professional leaf removal service for this price. Instead, 3 people showed up with rakes and a small blower, one worker was over 70. they did a total of 12 bags of leaves in 6 hours. I called them today to ask them if they had finished the work and express that it wasn't satisfactory, they haven't called back. Do Not hire this company, I could have paid one kid down the street 20 bucks and he would have done a better job. total rip off, scam job, not a real company. I deserve my money back. I have paid $200 and had all the leaves in my front and back yard removed last year. They did maybe 5% of my yard for $179.

But when the guy came out and took one look at what I wanted him to do, he told me it would be too hard and to call Angie’s List for a refund. I had another company I found on Angie’s List to do the work, and they did it in 45 minutes.

+ -1 moreC & A came out for six man hours and did a great job pulling out the roots and stumps of six bushes that I had trimmed down but unable to pull out the remainder myself. They also weeded and pulled out overgrowth in a large contained bed that I wouldn't touch due to the abundance of poison ivy that I had been exposed to at the beginning of the summer. All debris was neatly picked up and bagged and left in a designated spot near my garage. I would use this company again in the future as it seemed knowledgable, quick, and friendly.
Description of Work: Pulled out deep roots and stumps of six bushes and wedded and pulled out overgrowth in a large contained bed.

+ -1 moreThey came on time. They were clean and kept our home clean. They finished in a timely fashion. They were professional. They did extra work in cleaning our fireplace front and restored it to it's original beauty.
Description of Work: They came to our home and swept out our most frequently used chimney. Not only did they do this but there had once been an chimney fire in this chimney and the fire place front showed a dark stain. It was Indiana limestone and we had no idea how to clean it without ruining it. They used a spray and now the limestone is just beautiful and clean. They did not leave a mess, they were timely, neat and professional.

They kept the appt we made, communicated well, and did a great job. Gave me tips on how to minimize wood stove pipe soot and sold me a dry spray to spray up the pipe to lower risk of soot. Great job!
Description of Work: They cleaned the wood stove pipe, cleaned inside and outside of stove. Nice folks, great job, on time, very personable and professional. I will be using them again!

I had not scheduled him to put the cap back on our chimney (wind blew it off) but he was able to add that in for me for a small additional fee. We have gas logs, and they very carefully took them out, cleaned and put them back. Would use them again.
Description of Work: They cleaned my chimney (we had a nest of birds this summer) and put our cap back on our chimney. He also inspected the chimney for damage.
