C & A's Chimney Sweep & Lawn Maintenance Services

We purchased a Big Deal for Fall Lawn Clean-up. The company scheduled an appointment promptly. When I had to change the date of service to one week earlier, they were able to accommodate me (and if they could not, we would have understood as the fall is a busy time before Thanksgiving for clean-up.) Called before arriving. Two men showed up ready to work. Raked and bagged leaves (20 bags). Clean up was thorough. Men were polite and professional.

C&A scheduled and arrived promptly. They were all extremely nice people.The two people who showed up did not appear to be used to lawn maintenance work but I thought you never know. Unfortunately, I don't think they had ever trimmed a shrub before. They barely trimmed the shrubs they worked on and only trimmed half the shrubsthey were supposed to. They cut down the 3 ft aspen spruce but left the stump. I eventually hired someone else to dig out the stump. When I told them I felt the work was not well done and only half finished, they sent out another gentleman about a week later, who finished the job. I still felt the job was not done as well as it should have been done. They should not advertise that they do lawn maintenance. They may be great chimney sweeps but they are amateurs at lawn maintenance. Lesson learned don't hire a chimney sweep to do lawn maintenance even if its a Big Deal

Cleaning was done quickly and professionally. My only concern was a vague feeling that the company might have been trying to drum up some additional business by overly dramatizing the condition of the chimney flue. The technician who cleaned the flue informed me that we should immediately spend several thousand dollars installing a steel liner in the flue before using the fireplace again. Conveniently, he mentioned a promotion that would save about $1000 on the installed price if we acted immediately. Perhaps it was true, but I am always a bit suspicious when a sales person informs me that he/she has a deal for me, but only if I make a quick decision. I called another company to get a second opinion. Their recommendation was much less urgent. They recommended a rain cap, along with some minor external masonry work. When I asked about the need for a complete liner, their reaction was that it would be nice, but it would be very expensive, and that "90% of the homes in Indianapolis do not have them." I respect that recommendation, since it was clearly in the second company's financial interest to recommend a liner, which they could then install. It's difficult for me to do an accurate rating, since I cannot be 100% sure who is right, but I am skeptical enough to pick another company next time.

C&A was quick and provided a lot of information on the condition of my chimney and all the major parts. They also provided some tips on economical ways to get more heat from the fireplace. Overall I was favorably impressed and will use their service again.

They were very careful to clean completely, using careful precautions and tools to avoid soiling anything during the cleaning process and afterward. I do not recall exactly how long the process took, but it may have been a little over an hour to two hours. I had several questions regarding basic operations and frequency of use which were answered completely without a lot of jargon. The workers were effective, worked as quickly as possible. and kept the house clean, and were quite helpful.

I purchased an Angies List super saver. They contacted me promptly. Showed when they said they would and completed all the work I requested. I would hire them again

We really appreciate that Tim truly had our best interest at heart--he easily could have charged us for a second chimney cleaning but, as I said, instead he recommended another sweep who he thought could better serve us. That caring attitude is all too rare among businesses today. We would definitely use them again for future needs.

I was very pleased with their service, they were very prompt and conscientious of dirt and not making a mess, etc. I thought their rate was excellent and it is someone I would use again!

They did an excellent job. He just gave me some helpful hints on building fires and opening the damper early.

A man and a woman arrived to perform the services. He spread out drop clothes to keep the soot from the floor. He kept at the job until it was done. What he did, he did with great effort. I just didn't get what I thought I had asked for when I set up the appointment. If what I asked for was not in there list of services, I should have been told. I think.

Excellent service. Showed up on time and thoroughly cleaned our chimney.

He was very professional. He took great care and made certain that things were kept as clean as they can be for what he was doing obviously. With that, he put covers over his shoes and contained the area where he was cleaning the chimney and everything. He made certain that everything was well maintained, and he cleaned up before he left.

He did weeding, bought new shrubs and flowers. He called me at a big box store and confirmed all the pricing before purchasing. He removed old shrubs and put in the new ones. They did a great job. Fantastic.

They came out and did a great job of Fall clean up of beds and gardens. They also edged out some of the beds to make them bigger. They hauled away the dead leaves/branches/stems. They also cleaned the chimney and fireplace while they were there. I have used them in the past and would use them again. They were very efficient, got TONS of work done in the yard and cleaned everything up after they were done.

They were extremely professional and responsive. They gave me a two hour window 2-4 in the afternoon. When they realized it would be closer to 4 they called an confirmed it would still work for me. The also called and let me know they were only 15 minutes away. I really appreciate their consideration for my time. They were quick, efficient, and left no mess. We haven't used our fireplace yet, but we are sure it will work great after they cleaned it.

They were on time and were able to get several beds cleared out quickly. They bagged up all the debris in bags they provided. They swept up dirt and debris. I liked their work so much I had they come back and do more work. I will be using them again next year.

They were very professional and didn't leave any sort of mess behind. Tim gave me some tips because I have an issue with smoke not going directly up the chimney when a fire is first started, and those tips have worked great. Would absolute recommend to anyone.

The service was good. They did everything they said they would do very well.

Went quite well, although we would have preferred a deeper hand edging. Still, we are satisfied.

I purchased a Big Deal and they were supposed to come out and an do 6 hours of mulching. They did not come out. I called and left a message. They called my back saying it was not on the books. The owner called me back and said he could not come out in the time frame I wanted. The receptionist said we will do anything to make it up, while another person possibly the owner said they could not come out in the time frame I needed after I purchased the mulch that was sitting in my driveway. It needed me doing myself with the help neighbors in the middle of the summer.

It was the first time I had used them. They did a good job and did exactly what they said they would do. I would use them again.

He setup was done in now time and clean up after completion of the work. Big plus

Great guy. Family owned and honest. They did an excellent job.

The visit went well. They were very friendly and although they were a little late, called ahead to let us know. They left our house and room as clean as before their visit, which we really appreciated.
