C & A's Chimney Sweep & Lawn Maintenance Services

The team was very professional, very clean, and very honest about what was going on with my chimney. They were running late and called to let me know, and then called with an estimate of arrival. My chimney was in good shape and Tim (the owner) offered me advice on maintenance to keep it so. I purchased an Angie's List Deal for $119, which I guess is pretty standard, but seems a bit steep for a job that took maybe 15 minutes. That said, I think this is a pretty standard price, and I would definitely recommend this company.

The service was great; they worked non-stop and were able to complete all of the clean-up, which was unexpected.

Great!!! Did not blow smoke (no pun intended) or short the job. Both workers were courteous, professional, and very clean. A co-worker of mine recently had the same service provided by a competitor and had a horrible experience. I would DEFINITELY recommend these guys!!! Thanks!!!

They could not perform the services I was requesting so there was no deal.

It went well they did a good job. They did have job scheduled one week before but cancelled. However, they rescheduled for a later date and did the job.

When called to schedule service started adding surcharges before inspecting the chimney.

This was a pretty exhausting process. The first month, I assumed, I couldn't get anyone out because I work in Bloomington during the week. Once I spoke with Tom (who was very friendly) I told him what I wanted and we agreed that he would send out workers while I was gone. My grandmother in Alabama was also ill, then put on hospice so I was out of town on the weekends. Two weeks went by and I received an email about my "chimney cleaning." I explained it was for this specific deal and the work was scheduled while I was away on my last visit with my grandmother. I came home and none of the beds were weeded. Everything had been cut back and I saw 3.5 yard bags by my garage. We had also decided that his "workers" would stay and finish what couldn't be encompassed with the deal and I would be invoiced. Basically, I now need to call out another company to do the same thing. I was asked multiple times what "deal" I had purchased but up until my temporary position in Bloomington I did my own yard work. I could produce that many lawn bags within a half hour. I am gone too often leaving little time to take of this myself. I feel I wasted two months when I could have paid someone to come out that actually would have performed the work required.

These guys are the best. I've used them many times, and they are always who I call first when I need outdoor work done. They follow directions to the letter and clean up after themselves so you'd never know anyone was there.

Company did a very good job for how badly overgrown and weedy that my yards were. They were very efficient and stayed at their quoted price. They had trouble getting the weeds pulled up because of the ground being so hard.

He and 2 helpers trimmed all my shrubbery (and there is a lot of it, probably about 50 of them). They even pulled some weeds as they went along and bagged all the trimmings. They did leave them for me to dispose of. They did excellent work and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

The service call went very well. They carefuly spread out canvass tarps on the floor and on the fireplace hearth. They use a special type of vacuum cleaner that doesn't blow air back into the room like most shop vacs do. They were very friendly and professional. This is the second time I have used them and will use them again next year.

Great service. Tim and I made contact through e-mail and set up a date and time, they then had an issue and knew they were going to be a little late so we moved the appointment back an hour. They came in and cleared an area in my backyard that had become overgrown in no time and then took care of the front yard. Very polite in dealing with my excited 4yr old who wanted to know what they were doing at every turn. Definitely recommend and will be using again.

I had purchased a special deal for this service and got my money's worth. The chimney had smoked last winter the time I tried to use it so I was anxious about its condition. The polite service team inspected and cleaned it, leaving everything tidy. I was given advice that should prevent smoking in the future. The problem seems to have been with the damper opening.

The service was fine. They sent out two people who worked for an hour and a half. They were very professional. I had already had the job done once by another company who did not follow my direction. They did exactly what I wanted them to do.

I bought the deal and didn't hear from them. I gave them a call and they left a message with their email address. When I contacted them they let me know they couldn't do the work until October and it would be an additional $20.

Bought big deal. Easy to schedule appointment with C&A. He showed up on time. Did a great job. Very thorough. Even cleaned the fireplace glass when they were done. Will likely use them in the spring for outside yard work, as well.

Did a nice job in 2 hours they cleaned up at least a trillion weeds in my front flower beds. Thanks!

Asked them to power wash my driveway which was not that large. They charged me 200 dollars.

I liked the service they provided. Thought the men who came to my home were very respectful of my house and even liked the way that they interacted with each other - very professional and service oriented.

I never heard from the company and had the deal refunded.

I was not able to complete the ageement from 2012 due to poor health. However, I have rescheduled the work to be done this year. I have no experience with the company yet, but will contribute a review when the work is completed this year.

The chimney had never been cleaned or inspected in the 30 years that I have lived here. The fireplace was not often used, but I wanted to be sure that I had no problem, going into the next cold season. The firebox and chimney were completely cleaned. All of the work was done from inside the house, through the firebox. There was no mess, soot, dust or any other indication that his work had been done from inside. I learned that the chimney was tiled, not lined with a liner, and that it was in excellent shape. I would use C & A again, and was pleased with the thoroughness of the work. Well worth the time and money, for the peace of mind, and the job done.
