Saved a bundle by renting a car approx. 5 minutes from the airport and also avoided a drop charge since we returned the car to a differnect location than pickup. Everyone was great - professional & courteous. I'll definitely use Budget again.
Description of Work: We flew to San Jose, CA, rented a car and drove down to San Diego (returned car there) with stops in Three Rivers and LA.

This was a classic case of bait and switch. And if it wasn't, then it's terrible mismanagement. How do you not know how many trucks you have coming in and going out? I don't want another refund. I don't want anyone from Budget to contact me to try to make it right. I just want to warn other consumers to find another company, unless you want to get screwed. My estimated bill for the 24-foot truck was to be $101. I ended up paying $146 for the 15-foot truck before the "generous" $33 credit. So I paid $12 more for a smaller truck and a huge headache. I'll never use Budget again for anything.
Description of Work: I took a chance with Budget and regret it. I booked a moving truck SIX WEEKS before my move date. Budget sent me a confirmation email a few days before pickup to remind me of my reservation and to let me know that my 24-foot truck was reserved just for me. Laughable. When I showed up at 9 a.m. on the day of my move, I was informed that they didn't have my truck. It had, in fact, been rented to someone else. They did, however, have a 15-foot truck. Since I had helpers waiting at my home to help me and my family of five move 30 miles away, I had no choice but to take the smaller truck. The entire ordeal took nearly 45 minutes before I got out the door with the smaller truck. Upon return the next day, I was billed a rate of $59.99 for the smaller truck, despite booking the larger truck online for $39.99. When I protested, Raymond, the store operator (who insisted he had no control over the trucks being double-booked) handwrote a rate of $39.99 on my receipt and offered to adjust the mileage rate from .99 per mile to .79 per mile. The catch was that, of course, he couldn't make the change in the store, so it was incumbent upon me the customer to call customer service and ask for the adjustment. I called and did just that. It took about three days, but I did receive a call from Raymond and was told I would receive a $33 credit. Basically, I was given the original rate for the larger truck and they gave me $12 back in the mileage rate for my trouble. $12. Oh, and the best part is that the gas gauge didn't work and I ended up putting in $36 worth of gas (This was for a 65-mile round trip. Do the math) before I realized that the needle wasn't moving. Raymond tried to tell me that I didn't put enough gas in the truck. I told him to fix the gas gauge. And Raymond complained the entire time about how it wasn't his fault and customers yell at him all the time because they double book all the time. Gee, maybe because for your customers, moving day is a stressful event and they want it to go smoothly. Booking a truck and not getting it poses a major inconvenience.
