Broad Ripple Service Experts

We've used them for a long time and they are fine. We have a service plan with them. We are satisfied with their work. We think they are honest and that is why we respect them. We have even told other people that when other companies have scared them with tactics that something is going to break and they need to replace something big, we recommend them. They will go out and be more reasonable. It seems like they are more honest. They are not the cheapest but they are not the most expensive. They are very responsive and they come when they are supposed to come.

Tech was professional and seemed very honest in describing what was and wasn't needed. He recommended using cheaper filters. He said the pricier filters that supposedly remove more allergens tend to be overkill. Our furnace is 21 years old, and the tech recommended that we begin shopping around for a new furnace since ours has surpassed the normal age for a furnace. His suggestion wasn't a push for a sale, but was a courteous suggestion. We've used Broad Ripple Heating before, and will definitely do so again!

Contractor arrived on time, provided an estimate and fixed the pipe and shut-off valve.

Scheduled between 2 - 4 pm. Called before appointment time to let me know technician on the way. Technician arrived on time. Performed routine checks and maintenance on three furnaces, repaired two air ducts, and replaced air filter. Despite recent snow, did not track mud through my house. Clean, friendly, helpful knowledgeable and efficient.

Very well. Our old furnace was begining to give us trouble. Broad Ripple Heating & AC came and replaced a bad part. The serviceman recommended we look into replacing the old furnace and take advantage of the Federal rebate offer. We called Broad Ripple Heating and AC about a new furnace. The salesman came right out and gave us some quotes on different models and the price. We selected the model we felt would work for us. The came and installed the furnace soon after. The installers were very helpful, quick, and professional. The showed my wife how to work the new programable thermostat. The hauled the old furnace for free, and did a professional job cleaning up. I would recommend them.

Broad Ripple had installed an electrical outlet to power a whole-house humidifier they installed for us two years earlier. In June of 2010 I plugged a vacuum cleaner into this outlet and it appeared to trip a circuit breaker, as the A/C quit working. All circuit breakers were fine. The outside temperature was in the 90s, so I immediately called Broad Ripple for help (we're on their regular service plan). They came out the same day and told me I blew a fuse. "That's funny, I don't have any fuses in my house," I said. "Yes, you do, in HERE," said the technician, and he pointed to a small box on the side of the furnace...inside was the fuse. He mentioned I should not plug anything else into this outlet. That was never mentioned at installation of this outlet two years earlier. I had no extra fuses at the time. They charged me $60 for the fuse alone, and the rest was for the service call. I have no problem paying for a good service call when it's blazing hot outside and the A/C stops working. However, the following day I was able to purchase a three-pack of the identical fuse at the hardware store for approximately $5.00. I can understand an up-charge for a part, but 1200% is quite an up-charge! I called to complain, and they knocked off some, but not all, of the part's cost explaining it was part of the service call fee. I recommended they should be clear about what they charge in parts and what they charge in labor fees when the bill is provided to the customer. On the positive side, our A/C was up and running within just a few hours. On the negative side, the technician could have advised me to simply purchase a pack of $5 fuses and fix the problem myself.

The process of receiving the estimate went very smoothly. The salesman had many years of experience and was very knowledgeable about the products he was selling. He was very prompt in providing me a detailed estimate that night via e-mail. The only problem was the high cost. We received an estimate from another highly-rated company for about $2,700 less and decided to hire them instead.

It went very well. When the technician needed more equipment another plumber brought it to him, and he finished the job. Cleaned up everything.

It was excellent all the way around. There were no problems and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Tim Snell was the technician who came out. When scheduling service I had explained to Louise (in Pennsylvania) that my main goal was to find out why my electronic filter would not function properly. A second "project" was to have a new thermostat installed. Tim explained that he did not know anything about Trion filters and that it would likely be very expensive if the filter needed repairs. His preference was to not touch the filter. Installing the thermostat -his only accomplished task- cost $163.40! He had lots of suggestions for additional services. Also said I should have the people who installed the Trion filter check it out.

Everything went great. He was prompt, courteous, efficient, and professional. The only thing I was concerned about was the cost ($228 for 30 minutes work), and that included several discounts!

Overall, the experience went really well. We've used this company several times. The technicians showed up on time and did what they were supposed to do. The price is reasonable for the quality of the work; the furnace works well. I'm satisfied with their services and I would recommend them.

I expected and believed you would live up to what you advertise, "We're not comfortable until you're comfortable. Providing quality service every visit. In business to earn your satisfaction 100% of the time, 100% guaranteed. Meeting your your needs 24/7." You did not serve me in any capacity in compliance with our agreement during those years, months, weeks and days I was left to cope with the hot humid temperatures! Being your customer and a widowed senior citizen did not motivate you to show any responsibility towards me or for me. There were countless days that I could not function in my own home, let alone do daily chores. It prevented me from entertaining, gatherings of family and/or church family for three whole summers! These people could not believe how the problem was never found or any resolution. It was under warranty. I was left sitting with it to adjust to it. It was obviously defective. But instead of addressing that you advised me that the attic duct work needed repair/replacement to the tune of $760. Also, that my roof needed more vents, another $376. Here I was paying on my loan of $6,703 for all the new equipment and now repairs to my property to somehow produce air conditioning. It did not produce air conditioning! Repeatedly attempting to make it my responsibility instead of you taking responsibility for defective equipment! During the first summer (2007) my home developed a musty odor. It became more intense and heavy as the temperature and humidity rose. The following summer of 2008 it was the same experience for me. I was living with that and in that for another year! No amount of ventilation was a solution. In the spring of 2009, I was given opinions/estimates from three different companies regarding the stench of musty odor. I hired one company for $5,000 to fix my house so I would somehow have an odor free and air conditioned home. It was not a solution and another loan for me. One of your men had said along the way that if the air conditioning functioned like it should, I would have no musty odor to live with! Now a man from the company I hired to fix the smell was saying the same thing. In the meantime, your company keeps sending out different technicians to diagnose the problem with my new air conditioner. No one ever found the problem. All types of rinky d*** ideas and suggestions but no diagnosis, remedy or solution until the first hot day in 2010. It was late May. Jay Detar was the technician this time, May 28, 2010. I have had air conditioning all of 2010 on hot humid days and with no musty smell. He deserves so much credit, praise and recognition. What an asset he is to your company!. How did he find and recognize the part when not one of all those other men that were out here over the years could. I would think you'd want every technician made aware of what Jay found and how and why. Every single man that was here overlooked it at my suffering and expense. You gave me a shoddy treatment all through this. That's putting it mildly. In terms of settlement, I await your offer of compensation. Hopefully we'll reach a resolution. It would spare me of following through on other resources.

I got 3 quotes and Broad Ripple was the most comprehensive and complete estimate. They were through in review of my needs and the installation was most professional and complete from beginning to end. The installer was very good and patient about explaing what he was doing and how it would benefit our home heating. I would strongly recommend Broad Ripple Heating. It's not so much the systme as it is the installation.

We are please with their service. We have used this company for furnace and air conditioning service for 45 years and have never been disappointed. We have a multiyear service contract with them which lowers costs.

They were always very good. We have since moved to Florida.

Called company, John gave us estimate and total time for labor. A repair date was set and John came with a 2nd gentlemen and work was completed to estimate and time quoted. So far, repairs are working properly. Have another job and will call Village Plumbing when we need to have the work done.

Very well. Faucet was fixed to my satisfaction. Also got some advice from him regarding a leak from our upstairs shower and how to fix it (it just needed some caulking -- I just couldn't figure out where).

They have absolutely no service and very unreliable. They don't do what they say they are going to do. I had an appointment with them today and they didn't show up. They told me they were too busy. I called for this appointment three weeks ago. This isn't the first time they have canceled an appointment with me. They have lied to me several times. The office management has no idea what there employees are doing. I called last year to talk to the manager and I couldn't get a hold of him. Its been two year of poor service. This company is terrible and I would not recommend them to anyone.

It went very well, and the price was exactly as quoted. I was quite surprised to see all the dirt that the equipment got out of the ductwork.The houe smells better, and I am very satisfied.

It was time to replace the Heil AC/Heating System (12 years old) in our home. The service rep, Rick, came to our home and inspected the old equipment. Then he offered his recommended, a Lennox system. He did an excellent job explaining the features and why this system was best for our home. His estimate was $9100.00. We probably could have found a less expensive system from another company, but we decided to go with Service Experts because they reliably serviced our old equipment for the past 12 years. Rick told us the installers would be here around 9 a.m. the following Monday. So I arranged to be home that day. Around 9 a.m. I received a phone call from the installers who said they were running late and it would be closer to 11 a.m. I was disappointed they were going to be late since we were paying them $9100.00, but I said OK. By 11:30 a.m. they still weren't here so I called Service Experts. The rep said she would radio the installers to see what the problem was and I was put on hold. 5 minutes later she came back to say she was unable to contact the installers. She said she would call me back in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later she still hadn't returned my call, and the installers were still not here. So I called the company again. This time I received a voicemail message! (To be fair, I called Service Experts many times in the past and never received a voicemail before.) Now I was furious. I left a voice message expressing my frustration and disappointment. Several minutes went by before I finally received a call, this time from Rick. He apologized several times saying that 3 installers had called in sick, and this should have never happened. He said he was sending 3 installers to get the job done that day. At the promised time the 3 installers arrived and went to work. They were also apologetic. They were professional and worked nonstop until the job was done, about 5 hours later. The new system works as promised, and we're pleased with Rick's recommendation (including increasing the AC from a 2.5 ton to a 3 ton. If the installers had been here on time and finished the job around 4 p.m. as promised, I would have given them an A- for the job. I wish someone would have called earlier in the morning, explained the late timing, and had asked me if I wanted to reschedule the installation. Instead I had to call 3 times just to have the installers arrive 5 hours later! I checked NO I wouldn't use this company again if and when I need to replace my AC/Heating System. However I never had a problem with the company regarding service/maintenance the past 12 years.

I really like the techs that comes out. He is great. He explains everything and is very thorough.

We had them one time and we had an odor in the house and we left that day to go to Florida. This was about 2-1/2 years ago. We explained how to get into the house and they fixed it. We were very pleased, you just do not get that kind of service.

It seemed like they did a pretty good job. I was happy with the work.
