I CALLED AND ASKED ABOUT PRICING, THEY SAID IT WOULD BE $20/LB, THAT'S IT, I AGREED. I ASKED WHEN I COULD GET SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND RECHARGE MY A/C AND PERFORM AN ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CHECK, I WAS TOLD SATURDAY BETWEEN 8 A.M. AND NOON (5 DAYS OUT). I DIDN'T CONSIDER IT AN EMERGENCY, SO I DIDN'T HAGGLE TO GET AN EARLIER SERVICE DATE. 1.) THE TECH SHOWED UP 4 HOURS LATE, (4:00 P.M.) FORCING ME TO CANCEL ALL OF MY SATURDAY PLANS. 2.) I WAS INFORMED THAT TECHNICIAN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO MAINTENANCE CHECKS ON SATURDAY, SO I WAS DELIBERATELY DUPED BY THE CALL CENTER. 3.) I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FREON COST WAS $20/LB... IF I WANT IT SITTING ON MY PORCH. IF I ACTUALLY WANT IT IN THE A/C UNIT THAT'S ANOTHER $20/LB. I ALSO WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE TRIP CHARGE OF $80 (DISCOUNTED TO $70 THANKS TO THE ANGIE'S LIST COUPON) ADD TAX AND MY EXPECTED COST TRIPLED FROM $60 TO $184. I FEEL LIKE I ORDERED A HAMBURGER FOR $3 OFF THE MENU, WAS CHARGED ANOTHER $3 FOR COOKING AND $6 FOR SERVING IT. TOTAL $12
Description of Work: THEY RECHARGED THE FREON IN AN A/C UNIT, A TOTAL OF 3 LBS. WORTH. AND FAILED TO DO ANY OF THE OTHER WORK I HAD REQUESTED, PLUS MISLEAD ME IN THEIR BILLING.

HE DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR COMING OUT WHICH I APPRECIATED. HIS ORIGINAL ESTIMATE SEEMS A LITTLE HIGH, THOUGH I DID NOT DO ANY COST COMPARISONS. I WOULD AGREE WITH HIM, IT IS A VERY COMPLICATED REPLACEMENT, NOT A STRAIGHT FORWARD REPLACEMENT.
Description of Work: THEY CAME AND TOOK A LOOK AT MY BATHROOM. MY HOME IS 50 YEARS OLD, AND HE DID NOT KNOW HOW HE WAS GOING TO REPLACE THE FAUCETS.

THE GENTLEMAN FROM VILLAGE PLUMBING WAS ON TIME, VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE WAS UNABLE TO FIX MY CLOGGED TUB, BUT REFERRED ME TO A LOCAL ''EXPERT''. AND HE DID NOT CHARGE ME ANYTHING BECAUSE HE WAS UNABLE TO FIX IT. I'LL CALL THEM AGAIN IF NEEDED. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE: NO COVER WAS LAID IN THE TUB, AND I NOW HAVE VERY NOTICEABLE SCUFFS IN THE TUB THAT I CAN'T REMOVE.

THIS REPORT MAY SEEM DATED BUT WANTED TO GIVE THIS COMPANY EVERY CHANCE BEFORE FILING, AS IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. SEPT,2002 BOUGHT NEW HEATPUMP, HAD MANY PROBLEMS, CALLED ANGIES LIST TO COMPLAIN ON 4/11/03, THEY DID GET THINGS MOVING. BUT --TECHS WERE HERE 8 TIMES. FACTORY REP TWICE. THEY FINALLY REPLACED DEFECTIVE HEATPUMP IN JAN,2004. HOOKED UP THERMOSTAT WRONG, HAD TO COME BACK. THEN SEPT,2004 UNIT WOULD NOT COOL. THEY DID LEAK TEST, FOUND NO LEAK, ADDED FREON. ITS NOW JUNE,2005 AND IT DOESN'T COOL AGAIN. CALLED FOR SERVICE, SAID IT WOULD BE A WEEK BEFORE THEY COULD COME. THIS IS A LENNOX UNIT. BEWARE OF LENNOX AND BROAD RIPPLE HEATING. MANAGEMENT AT BROAD RIPPLE HEATING WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS.

OUR SERVICE TECHNICIAN, TIM, WAS VERY WELL-VERSED IN OUR TYPE OF SYSTEM AND AWARE OF COMING CHANGES IN EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS. HE WAS POLITE AND EXPLAINED THINGS VERY WELL.
Description of Work: WE CALLED FOR SERVICE ON ON DUAL SYSTEM HEAT PUMP BECAUSE THE AIR CONDITIONING WASN'T WORKING. THE TECHNICIAN CAME TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, WHICH ENDED UP BEING A LACK OF FREON IN THE SYSTEM. HE TOLD US HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE TO RECHARGE THE SYSTEM AND CHECK FOR LEAKS. HE ALSO LET US KNOW OUR SYSTEM WAS OLDER AND BUILDERS GRADE, SO WE MAY WANT TO LOOK INTO A REPLACEMENT. WHILE HE WAS OUT HE POPPED A NEW AIR FILTER WE HAD INTO THE BLOWER AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. WE ONLY PAID FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC SINCE WE ALSO WANTED TO COLLECT SOME BIDS ON A NEW SYSTEM.

THEY DID CALL MID-AFTERNOON TO ADVISE ME THAT THE SERVICEMAN WOULD BE THERE. STEVE WAS POLITE, AND WORE HIS BOOTIES. THE PRICE WAS, I THOUGHT, HIGH FOR THE WORK THAT WAS DONE, BUT THEY DID SHOW UP. I HAVE USED THEM BEFORE BUT THE COST MAY PREVENT ME FROM CALLING THEM AGAIN.

THEY CAME OUT THE DAY I CALLED, AND WERE PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS.

DAVID B. IS ALWAYS A PLEASANT PERSON TO WORK WITH, AND SEEMS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE REGARDING HVAC SYSTEMS. HE TELLS ME EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY SYSTEM (I LIKE THE TECHNICAL DETAILS), AND NEVER TRIES TO SELL ME UNNECESSARY PARTS OR SERVICES. SOMETIMES HE RUNS A LITTLE LATE, BUT THAT'S MOST LIKELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE IS DOING HIS JOB WELL, PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAIL & TALKING WITH THE CUSTOMER. WILL DEFINITELY USE DAVID IN THE FUTURE.

THE COMPRESSOR AND COOLANT LINE INSTALLATION WAS DONE WELL, BUT THE INSTALLERS COULD NOT GET THE COMPRESSOR TO START-UP EVEN WITH PHONE ASSISTANCE FROM THEIR SERVICE DEPT. THEY NEEDED TO PLACE SERVICE CALL FOR ANOTHER TECHNICIAN; A COUPLE HOURS AFTER THEY LEFT THE SERVICE TECH DID FIND A BROKEN WIRE AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE COMPRESSOR TO RUN WHEN THE THERMOSTAT WAS SET ON COOLING. I LATER FOUND THAT THE COMPRESSOR WOULD NOT START WITH THE THERMOSTAT SET ON AUTOMATIC (I.E. A/C OR FURNACE DEPENDING ON TEMPERATURE SETTING.) SINCE I HAD ALREADY USED UP AN ENTIRE DAY, I ELECTED TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT (WHICH HAD WORKED FINE WITH THE PREVIOUS COMPRESSOR) MYSELF, RATHER THAN TO WAIT FOR A SECOND SERVICE CALL.
Description of Work: REPLACED A/C COMPRESSOR, AND INSTALLED NEW COOLANT LINE TO THE A/C COIL (WHICH WAS NOT TO BE REPLACED).
