I think that is what the neighborhood has and we've had them forever. We had them at our old house. So we've been happy with their services and didn't see a need to switch.

We were so fed up with the billing of the earlier provider. There was an every month fight over the billing even though nothing changed. Everything remained the same but the bill was always different to the point of being ridiculous. When asked for an explanation for the increase of $50 they would just reply saying that it is gone up by just 20 this time and that it should not have been included in the billing. This was the way they were trying to make extra money by billing and hoping that we would pay and not say anything. This was an every month thing. The service itself was fine as far as TV and all that but it was not worth the monthly. We are not patient with that kind of stuff. We need a bill, give us a bill, our service is the same every month, we don’t ask for anything more and this is what it should be and quit messing with it. So we went to Bright House Networks. My son is in Bloomington and he does not have a choice. They have been good so far. There was one small glitch which was only a misunderstanding. It was not a huge thing and now the billing seems to be alright. We warned them that we would be watching it and it better not change. Price wise they are more reasonable. The earlier service provider was charging for the same service almost $200.
Description of Work: We just switched from our earlier provider to Bright House Networks for internet Service, landline phone, and TV cable service.

We've used Brighthouse for years but that's primarily because of the relative lack of competition. Though we've had no issues w/ the quality of the digital TV and home phone services, it's not uncommon for us to have service interruptions w/ the "standard" Roadrunner high speed internet plan. Our primary issue is that we don't feel we're getting good value for our money. Related to that, another related issue is that Brighthouse isn't upfront in disclosing the pricing for services "a la carte" which makes it's difficult to objectively determine if we're saving the $ that they claim we're saving by going w/ one of their bundle packages. It also puts the consumer at a disadvantage when trying to negotiate a lower cost. We've called or on-line chatted several times with Brighthouse reps over the past couple years and inevitably the Brighthouse rep will claim that downgrading will lead to an increase in cost due to the nebulous savings from our current bundle. This lack of transparency to the consumer on pricing merits a low professionalism rating. In summary, decent services but questionable value.
Description of Work: We have a bundled standard high speed Roadrunner internet, digital TV, and "unlimited nationwide" home phone through Brighthouse.

I hate Brighthouse, but unfortunately there are no other options in our area. Our internet constantly stalls out. We've had several service techs out to our house. The techs are prompt and professional, but they are never able figure out what is wrong. Brighthouse claimed they couldn't see the problem on their end. We even went as far as upgrading our service to see if that would help. It didn't, so now we are paying more for the same crappy service. They then said they would monitor our service for a week to watch for the lulls in our service, but they never got back to us about it. Update: After posting this review a representative took the time to contact me and work through the problem. It ended up being a firmware issue. I am happy to say that the service has been running great for the last week or so.

I have been using their services for about ten years now. I have been satisfied with their services. The prices have been pretty firm with the internet. When we did have any problems, they were pretty responsive.

It is the only one in the area. I would recommend them to a friend and family member. Of the cable providers that I have had, I've had fewer problems with Bright House.

I use Brighthouse because I prefer cable service over DSL service that AT&T offers. Neither Brighthouse or AT&T has given me enough support to put all my communications eggs in one basket but Brighthouse is a little more responsive and when it is working it is really pretty good. I have been working with them since about 2001 and will use them again in the future. Their service people are here when they say they will be.

They were prompt and professional. I found them to be patient and knowledgeable. He actually installed the TV and I was happy that he went above and beyond. I would highly recommend them.

In the 2 years, we have had at least 30 technicians. None of the technicians seem to be able to get the internet working. It will disconnect over 8 times a day. Their customer service does not appear to work. I will call and it takes a week for a supervisor to return a call. If you miss the call, it can take another week for someone to reach you. They do not have a good system for handling customer complaints, and do not follow up with their customers.

At 4:55 pm I called Brighthouse to inquire how much longer the technician would be. After sitting on hold 10 minutes, I was told Brighthouse made a mistake and scheduled the appointment for June 24th. When would I like to re-schedule? The installation charge was $75, and the monthly charge for cable TV, internet and phone was about $170/month with taxes and fees. Why in the world would anybody pay OVER TWO-THOUSAND DOLLARS/YEAR FOR THE ABSOLUTE WORST "CUSTOMER SERVICE" ON THE PLANET?
Description of Work: I have been a Brighthouse Network customer for over 7 years. I have had TV and internet service through Brighthouse. I called Brighthouse because I keep receiving ads for bundled service less than what I'm paying now. The sales person I spoke with said the delas are only for new customers. But if I added phone service, I could get a package for about $20 more than was I was already paying per month. I scheduled an "appointment" to have the phone service installed. The technician was to arrive between 2 and 5 pm. At 4:55 pm I called to find out if he was coming. "Customer service" told me it was only 4:55 pm and he still had another 5 minutes to get to my home. Needless to say, he didn't get to my house in 5 minutes. He didn't show up at all. I drove to the Brighthouse lobby and turned in my equipment. "Customer service" told me it was only 5:30 pm, and I should wait a while longer in case the technician was still on his way. Apparently the technicians do not have telephones. When Brighthouse came out with Road Runner Lightning, I decided to give them a second chance. I called Brighthouse to inquire about the new internet speed upgrade. I was told by "customer service" that I had to go online, send them an e-mail, and Brighthouse would e-mail me back to let me know if it's available in my area. How convenient! So I e-mailed Brighthouse, and Lightning is available in my area. I called and scheduled the next available "appointment" time, today between 2 and 5 pm.

A man from Brighthouse came to my door in July. They were running a special in the area for different bundles (TV, phone, internet, etc.) for new customers. He was very nice, helpful, and able to answer all of my questions. I had been throwing around the idea to get cable for a while so I accepted and he went ahead and scheduled the installation. The date of the installation my roommate and I were not home from work when the installer arrived. They left a note to reschedule. I called to reschedule at a later date. When they came the 2nd time, it was towards the end of the two hour window. This wasn't exactly ideal, but an understandable situation. My roommate was home and they began the installation. The installation was fine, but it took much longer than expected because the house had not had cable in a long time. They installed many new cables; some of which I wasn't aware that we would be charged more for. Once the installation was complete we began using the services immediately. The internet is great and I have never had a problem. Occasionally the cable TV cuts out, but I don't watch it enough to be too concerned.

They were here on time; they ran all new cables from the telephone pole into the house. they installed protection boxes as well. All this work and wiring was neatly done. They showed me how to use this equipment as well. I had an issue with the remote control & I was able to call their service hotline and they were able to assist me with reprograming the remote without a problem. Today (July 23) they sent out an inspector to make sure everything was installed properly and everything was working; that was impressive that they check their workman's work.
Description of Work: Installed a bundle deal: the home phone, 220 channels on television, and internet(DSL) with a roadrunner.

The internet works just fine, no problems at all. Their cable service is where any problem I have with them lies. I am going to be talking to them soon about the issue, which I hope they are going to resolve. We have three cable hook ups, only one of which has a clear picture. update: the internet at our new home goes out here and there. They are coming to work on it, but it takes forever for them to get you on the schedule for something as simple as fixing a router. The same goes for any problem, or addition you may need for your service. Don't expect to have them out same day, or even the next day when a problem arrises--they are apparently extremely busy all of the time.

For years, I had digital cable and high-speed internet service with BrightHouse. The actual service was great, but they had the some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I had a technician under the influence of alcohol at my house; I had rude customer service on the telephone; and they completely ignored problems that I reported. Their failure to properly bury a cable line result in the line being cut TWICE. They buried the line a third time and, because they didn't listen to me, it is once again exposed. Because of their poor service, I stopped using them. I will NOT use them in the future.

The person who installed our cable showed up about 2 hours early. We were not ready for him to be there so early since we were moving into our house that day. But he was pretty friendly, and explained things well. We felt that we were mislead by customer service because we were under the impression that 3 movie channels would be free for the first 3 months. They weren't. After calling customer service back they told us we had to order services online and not over the phone. When we first had our service our cable would go out a lot in our area. Haven't had that problem recently. The internet has problems every now and then, but that may be due to our router which we didn't purchase from Brighthouse, so that is no fault of theirs.

They reset the box and stated they couldn't do anything else. Reseting the box didn't do anything and the first available schedule was Sunday. When I came back late in the afternoon the problem was gone.
