Arrived well within the allotted time slot. Brighthouse even called me when the installer was on the way to our house from his previous job. The installer was a nice guy, competent and quick. Considering the amount of work he had to do, it was completed quickly and with a minimal amount of impact esthetically. My only small complaint was the trouble I had setting up the initial appointment. With all fairness to Brighthouse, I'm sure that the fact I was ordering service from California to be set up in a home in Indy contributed to the confusion. In spite of this very minor glitch, I would still recommend the company wholeheartedly.
Description of Work: Ran brand new coaxial cable to the house for high speed internet access. The cable had to come from the utility pole in the alley, (over twenty feet away) into the basement, out to the other side of the home and back in to an upstairs bedroom.

THIS IS THE FOURTH DAY, AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE IT HOOKED UP RIGHT. THEY DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS. THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO COME OUT AND THEY DON'T SHOW UP. THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL ME ANOTHER SERVICE THAT I DON'T THINK I NEED. THE FIRST GUY THEY SENT OUT WAS JUST A CONTRACTOR, HE KNEW NOTHING AND SAID HE COULD NOT DO IT.
Description of Work: They put in an HD cable box and took out an Analog cable box.

WE PRESENTED BRIGHTHOUSE WITH A VERY COMPLEX SCENERIO. SHE TOOK THE TIME TO LOOK AT BOTH OF OUR ACCOUNTS AND UNDERSTOOD WHAT WE WANTED TO ACCOMPLISH. THE CABLE GUY CAME OUT EARLY AND WAS WONDERFUL! HE INSTALLED NEW WIRE RUNNING TO THE HOUSE FROM THE POLE FOR FASTER INTERNET SERVICE. HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DRILL ANY HOLE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE. HE WAS VERY ENTHUASITIC AND ENJOYED THE CHALLENGE OF OUR OLD HOUSE. AFTER HE LEFT, I DID NOT RECEIVE SOME OF THE DIGITAL CHANNELS BUT THE PHONE SUPPORT WAS ABLE TO FIX IT VERY QUICKLY, REMOTELY.
Description of Work: ADDED TWO NEW JACKS TO A 1920 HOME AND TRANSFERRED DIGITAL AND INTERNET SERVICE FROM TWO APARTMENTS INTO ONE HOME.

OUR SERVICE WAS ACTIVATED AFTER I PROVED TO BRIGHTHOUSE THAT WE WERE THE NEW OWNERS OF THE HOUSE. I RETURNED A CABLE BOX FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNERS ACCOUNT TO BRIGHTHOUSE AND WASN'T EVEN THANKED FOR DOING SO. IT MIGHT'VE BEEN NICE FOR THEM TO THANK ME OR TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED WITH A GOODWILL GESTURE OF SOME TYPE. I GUESS I'M JUST MAKING A SUGGESTION.
Description of Work: WE WANTED TO GET T.V. CABLE SERVICE ACTIVATED AT OUR NEW HOME. BRIGHTHOUSE MADE US COME INTO THE OFFICE TO PROVE THAT WE OWNED THE HOME BEFORE THEY WOULD ACTIVATE THE SERVICE IN OUR NAME. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HADN'T BOTHERED TO RETURN THE CABLE BOXES THAT WERE BRIGHTHOUSE'S PROPERTY (ABOUT $600 WORTH OF EQUIPMENT I WAS TOLD). I GOT THE IMPRESSION THAT THE TECHNICIANS WERE NOT COMPETENT AT TROUBLESHOOTING THE PROBLEMS (I SEE THAT OTHER POSTERS MIGHT AGREE). THE TECHNICIANS WERE COURTEOUS, BUT JUST DIDN'T SEEM TO GET THE JOB DONE. PHONE SUPPORT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING, AS IT SEEMED LIKE WE WERE ALWAYS STARTING OVER FROM SQUARE ONE, EVEN WHEN THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN ONGOING.
Description of Work: AFTER MONTHS OF UNEXPLAINABLE SPORADIC OUTAGES, WE FINALLY HIT A TWO WEEK PERIOD WHERE OUR SERVICE WAS PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE. WE HAD TECHNICIANS OUT TO OUR HOUSE 2 TIMES IN 6 DAYS. EACH TIME, THE TECHNICIAN CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. EACH TIME, NOT 10 MINUTES AFTER THE WORKER LEFT, WE WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AGAIN. SINCE WE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING OUTAGES FOR TWO STRAIGHT WEEKS WITHOUT RESOLUTION (AND TWO VISITS FROM THEIR TECHNICIAN), I FINALLY CALLED AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER. TIER 1 SUPPORT DID NOT WANT TO TRANSFER MY CALL TO A MANAGER. I INSISTED THAT WE WOULD NOT BE BLOCKING ANOTHER 4 HOURS TO WAIT FOR A TECHNICIAN THAT COULD NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE WOMAN ON THE PHONE FINALLY CONCEDED AND TRIED TO GET A MANAGER ON THE PHONE. SHE THEN TOLD ME THAT A MANAGER COULDN'T TALK RIGHT THEN, BUT WOULD CALL ME BACK IMMEDIATELY (IN 30 MINUTES). MANAGER NEVER CALLED. I CANCELLED AND CALLED INSIGHT. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE.

FOR A PERIOD OF 2 WEEKS, I WAS EXPERIENCING NUMEROUS OUTAGES. WHEN I CHECKED THE ROAD RUNNER SITE (THAT PROVIDES THE INTERNET ACCESS), IT SAID AS MUCH AND THAT I SHOULD BE PATIENT WHILE THEY WORK TO REPAIR IT. WHEN I CALLED BRIGHT HOUSE TO SEE IF THEY WOULD CREDIT ME FOR THE LACK OF SERVICE, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THAT SINCE I DIDN'T CALL THEM ABOUT THE OUTAGES, THEY COULDN'T CREDIT ME. IN FACT, SHE SAID IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE THAT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN OUTAGE LONGER THAN 48 HOURS (DESPITE THE ROAD RUNNER SITE SAYING OTHERWISE) AND REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME OR BELIEVE ME. NOT UNTIL I THREATENED TO GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY THAT "WOULD" LISTEN TO ITS CUSTOMERS, DID SHE OFFER A $25 ''APPEASEMENT'' CREDIT.

INSTALL CAME OUT TO CONNECT CABLE WIRING FROM POLE TO OUR HOME. THIS WAS A 'SELF INSTALL SPECIAL' MEANING THAT WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING-UP THE INTERNET CONNECTION.
