Description of Work: Kourtney was a bit early for the schedule appoitment. He apologized for not calling and asking if it was alright for him to come early. When he came he went right to work. I had explained to him about a leak my husband had seen. Kourtney then investigated it out and said that he didn't see anything kind of damage around the chimney. He told me that the roof was in good condition. Kourtney then told me that if I should see any kind of leak again to call him. He did such a wonderful job that I will call him again.

Description of Work: Chimney cleaning. Workman seemed professional, but compared to what we've had done before, did very little, here about 15 minutes. No protection for floors, etc. Put brush down chimney; that was it. No vacuuming, etc. Not worthwhile at all.

Description of Work: They cleaned the chimney and did a safety inspection. They also provided an estimate of work that will need to be done at some point in the future. David was honest and up-front with me and I appreciate that! He was also persistent in getting the work done. We had to reschedule several times because of rain, but I never felt like he forgot about rescheduling. I felt like he made me a priority and I appreciate that.

Description of Work: Courtney called, made the appointment, showed up on time, took one look and said - gas log so you probably don't need cleaning. "Let me look at the top of the chimney." Report was that the flue is good, but the cap is cracked so he will apply the $99 to repairing the cap. He will call and schedule that later.

Description of Work: No services performed, only estimate given. Not a great experience unfortunately. I had to call Angie's List to get an appointment scheduled with them (possibly overwhelmed by the add?). Once contacted they came as scheduled. We had a problem with our flue damper which I explained when scheduling. While pleasant and professional I decided not to use the company because the estimate for work was more than expected. Also other estimates/examinations proved most of the work quoted was not necessary.

Description of Work: They did a quality job tuck pointing stone, tuck pointing chimney flu and repairing chimney cap.

Description of Work: Came out, took pictures of the work to be done and gave me an estimate on the spot. The team was out shortly after and tuck pointed all of the brick trim around my foundation and replaced 30 some bricks on one side of the house. Looks great.

Description of Work: It took almost four months before the work was completed. Albeit it was a small project, I would have thought this would be something they'd squeeze in in a quick fashion and move on. Sometimes it would be a ocuple of weeks or more after an e-mail that they would respond. I found this company through one of the Angie's List coupons on the internet.The individual who came out to the house to repair the mailbox was good at leaving a message as to why he couldn't complete the job. I think the main reason I selected "I wouldn't use them again" was based solely on responsiveness. While it was a small project for them, it was a nuisance for me to have to wait that long. Job performed: repaired mailbox insert into brick structure.

Description of Work: We had bricks that were deteriorating, they replace the bricks and put in new mortar.

Description of Work: Kourtney came out and gave an estimation. He was clear, explained everything, and took pictures. He then fixed my chimney, re-poured a crown, and tuck pointed some cracks. It looks great and I won't have to worry about leaks.

Description of Work: They repaired fireplace as i had asked. By the timethey finished it cost another 200. There were still other issues they suggestged I addressed and said they would get back to me with an estimate, which they never did. I hired yet another company to to do the extra items that needed repaired.

Description of Work: He was very professional and kept me informed of all aspects. I highly recommend Mr. Zahn to all who require his services. In paying for a sweep and learning I didn't require one he told me to seek a refund; since inspections are free. He did mention that I need to keep a watch on the current chimney cap. It may need replacing in a year or two.

Description of Work: Kourney Zahn was very prompt and professional. He performed a chimney sweep and analyzed deteriorated masonry at the top of our chimney. His bid and his counsel was nearly identical to another, larger, firm we consulted. Once we gave him the go ahead the work was scheduled and performed within a week. The workers did a fine and complete job and left our home and yard in great shape. Kourtney said the goal was it to appear that they had never been there. That was achieved. That included not only cleaning up after themselves, but matching brick. Scope of work included replacement of three courses of brick and a variety of other individual bricks, new mortar as needed, installation of a concrete cap on the chimney, installation of two chimney caps, and replacement of fireproof mortar in the fireplace inside our home.

Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal back in June. I contacted the company immediately that morning leaving my information. I received a group email a couple days later that, due to high volume response to the ad, it might be a couple days to contact all purchasers, but he would contact us by the end of the week. I have never heard from anyone in the company to date. I have made at least one additional follow up call. I contacted Angie's List several weeks ago, and again today. I was informed they had talked to Kourtney and he said he had an appointment set up with me that week. That was not the case, and I have yet to hear from him. After about 2 months, I asked to received my money back, which has already been paid. The representative at Angie's List assured me I would be credited. Never had bad luck with Angie's List referrals in the past.
