Brewer Heating & Cooling

This was our second time using Brewer Heating & Cooling. To fix a problem with our heat pump, Isaac arrived, inspected the pump, and cleaned out our air filter, and it's been working like a charm ever since. He was done in a matter of minutes. We highly recommend Brewer Heating & Cooling!

Excellent. Actually had to install two units because first was faulty. Worked with me to find a suitable solution to my original problem.

I had issues with a previous contractor so I checked Angie's List and found Brewer. I was very happy with the service and the tips the service man provided for me during his visit.

Isaac was extremely thorough inspecting our home, under the crawlspace, etc. He provided us with many options and gave us the pros and cons of each. The installers were on time, courteous and very helpful. I am extremely happy the installation and service Brewer provided.

Brewers showed up when they said they would, analyzed the problem immediatly and went right to work. Will definately use them the next time I have a problem.

They did do a good job, however I thought the price was a little high. He was very polite and cleaned up well afterwards.

Isaac responded to the initial problem immediately. after an initial repair it was determined the ac unit was leaking freon. We worked through the financials on a repair vs replace and after tax and energy credits decided replace was the way to go. very helpful in working through all the options and costs. a second quote confirmed his price was in line. scheduled work was done on time, neatly and did a quality job on the installation. Everything is working well so far.

Our home had a high humidity level even when the air conditioner was cooling the house adequately . Very little water drained from the condensation tube. Over the course of two cooling seasons, the company that installed the unit could never improve the problem. Brewer Heating and Cooling technician, Mark, listened to the history of what had been tried by the other company. After checking over the system and confirming that it was working properly, he suggested adjusting the fan speed in order to allow the air passing over the coils a little more time to condense the moisture. He also found that the gas level was a little low so added some R22. These strategies have helped improve the humidity level. It was at 75% and is now at 60%. Water is running from the condensation tube. We are satisfied with the service we received from Brewer Heating and Cooling. Mark did a good job!

They are fabulous. Everyone who they have come out is friendly, professional, thorough, and very clean. When they leave, they don?t leave anything behind. We are very satisfied with the jobs they?ve done for us. They always come when they say they are going to.

After reviewing companies on Angie's List, I called Brewer. The office staff was very polite and efficient in scheduling me for the service. The tech who came to the house was very professional. Answered all of my questions, cleaned up the area. I asked the tech about cooling and heating options for a bonus room addition that I had done the previous year that tends to get a little too hot or too cool. He briefly explained a min-split system and said he would have someone call me back for a more detailed estimate. The next day the office was calling me to arrange a time to come out to do an estimate. I explained I was only asking about options at this point, I was not seriously considering moving forward on anything. I ended up speaking with Isaac Brewer, their GM. He got some basic details and emailed me a really nice proposal, that included the various rebate options available. I thought they really carried through on my request for information, more than I would have expected.

I didn?t use them as I felt that they were very expensive. They gave me a quote over the phone. They do all of my HVAC work. I have used them for several years. So, I called them first about the water heater. For a high end water heater, I felt that their quote was way too expensive. They quoted me around $800 for the water heater. I found them to be reasonable on all their other work. That is why, I still use them. They had put in my heat pump, 3-4 years ago. They put in a new furnace for me, this year. I do use them a lot. They do all the service on my heating and air conditioning units. I just felt they were a little expensive when it came to the water heater. They are very responsive. I will continue using this company again in the future.

Isac the owner came to our home promptly and provided a quote for three different furnace options. All three quotes were 20-25% lower than a quote provided by one of the large heating and cooling companies. He was also very knowledgable about tax credits, and provided all information for tax preparation. Installation completed as promised. I've already recommended them to friends, and these are the only people I will ever use again for HVAC. It is a comfort to know I can call someone who I can trust to give me great service at a great price.

Everything went very well. They were here for an entire day. There were 2 guys that came out that got here around 8AM, I was here for the whole experience. They were very clean and personable. I have no complaints.

On May 11, 2011, less than year after the motor was replaced, the motor failed and was locked up tighter than a drum. The new A/C repairman said it was because the installer from Brewer didn't remove vent plug on the motor after it was installed. Because the vent plug wasn't removed, the condensation didn't drain out of the motor and the unit failied less than a year after it was installed. We had to replace the A/C motor with a new one. Another problem was Brewer used a universal motor with a taller profile than the original Carrier motor which caused the fan blade to be too low. This most likely made the A/C run less efficiently, but we're not sure about that. We will not use Brewer again. This company cost us an extra $560 that I shouldn't have had to spend. In November 2011, the owner of Brewer contacted us about the negative experience we had. The owner stated that the motor would have been replaced under warranty in May 2011, if Brewer had done the work. We explained that they were contacted to determine the problem in 2011, but they were unable to schedule a service call in a timely manner...so we went with another company who determined the pre-stated motor issues. Brewer offered, and mailed, a check for the cost of the motor they installed in 2010...which was a very pleasant surprise and showed that they do have a high degree of professionalism.

I am very satisfied with their work. They were outstanding. They were prompt showing up, and they made sure everything was operating properly. I would highly recommend them. The manager came by the next day to make sure everything was properly installed.

They were able to fit me in very quickly (hot and no air). We were unable to find the problem, which continued to be the case. A few others were almost certain that it was a part inside the unit causing the leak (don't remember the name) but could not say for sure. I decided to get estimates for a new system. Isaac came out and gave a competitive bid on a system, explaining different cost/benefits. Were a family member not to have been able to get me the deal I ended up with, I would have hired this company.

Isaac and his crew did a fantastic job of removing the old, 20 year old Trane air conditioner and furnace, then replacing them with new, more efficient units. They even moved our dryer duct so the lint and humidity would not affect the air conditioner. I waited a year to provide a report to see how well the unit worked over the seasons. It's been great. The house is very comfortable year round and they included free maintenance for a year. We received estimates from several different HVAC companies, and Brewer was the best in terms of quality, price, and service. He also informs his customers of all incentives, rebates and tax credits.

The experience went very well. Met with Isaac Brewer to go over options. Everything was clearly explained (including rebates available on new furnaces). Installation was scheduled for the next week. The installer showed up on time. He worked diligently all day. He found that the vent pipe was too small and had to install a larger pipe. This involved cutting a bigger hole in the side of the house. He did this at no extra cost. The extra work made it impossible to finish the job in one day. The installer came back the next day and completed the job. He left the work area cleaner than he found it.

Great experience. Isaac came out and explained all of the various options, highlighting the options that would provide the energy saving tax credit. His price was also best by about $500. He came out when he said he would and he and his assistant were professional and friendly. He explained system maintenance thoroughly before he left. Isaac provides a very comfortable service approach. We will use him again. One other thing- Isaac went above and beyond twice for us. He found a raccoon and her babies in our attic, and then he fixed our sticking front door. He's just a solid guy who likes to help people.

Great experience; scheduling staff was very friendly and explained all of my options thoroughly. Technician was punctual, explained what he would be doing for the maintenance on my furnace/system. He kept the area neat and clean and explained the results of the system evaluation too. So happy with the experience that I signed up to be a regular maintenance customer (2x/year). Technician also went above and beyond and explained how my gas fireplace insert worked and my options for leaving the pilot light lit/not lit, etc. BTW, $174 covered BOTH the fall maintenance/inspection and prepays for the spring maintenance/inspection, too.

We started having problems with igniting in our old (17 years) Moncrief (ever head of it?) gas furnace. Isaac Brewer came out and couldn't really find anything wrong with it but made a few adjustments. That seemed to work for a while, but we started having the same issue again. He said it could be a couple of things and he could tell more, but would have to tear apart the old furnace to check the heat exchanger. He simply provided literature on a new furnace - he did not push it. We opted to purchase a more efficient, new furnace instead. Isaac or his company have done our HVAC installs and service for several years. Derrick was the installer on the new furnace - everything went fine, he left everything clean. We also have a heat pump. We had a minor issue at one point between our humidifier interracting with the heat pump a couple of weeks later - which seemed to have started after the new furnace install. Derrick came back out and fixed that issue.

This truly was a ride in the wayback machine! Everything you want in a contractor but can only get if you travel back through time: Punctual; professional; honest; fair; knowledgeable; competent; thorough; conscientious; friendly; detailed; precise. Unbelievable customer service all the way around. Isaac started out with help, who happened to be under the weather. It's obvious he cares about his employees, because he sent his guy home and continued the install in the crazy, driving snow by himself. He did not rush to get the job done and get out of the cold - instead, he took his time and made sure everything was right and was upbeat through the entire process. He answered my all questions and thoroughly explained and demonstrated the thermostat when the install was completed. He straightened the garage and area where the new heat pump is located and with the exception of the snow, left everything looking better than when he arrived. His office staff maintain the same level of professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail, providing the necessary, timely information for state and federal rebates and credits. Ladawn and Jenny are responsive, courteous and a pleasure to work with. Last but certainly not least, I genuinely feel valued as a customer. Isaac's approach from start to finish makes him, his company and his team stand out and shine. :)

They were professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

Isaac Brewer came out and gave us plenty of valuable information and a quote on the spot. We reviewed his quote along side two other providers' quotes and discovered that his was the lowest and best. One of the others quoted an inferior system by the same manufacturer for more money. Isaac was up front with all costs and warranty information. Isaac and his team installed the new Trane Energy Star efficient system in a day's time. They did a great job and left no mess!

Called 2 days prior to installation and got immediate response for end of year installation to take advantage of Fed Tax Credit. System was installed 31st and is running great. Much quieter than old XL80 Trane and confort range is good. Highly recommend Brewer Heating and Cooling. They beat a larger competitor cost by considerable margin.
