BOB'S CONSTRUCTION

We were out of town when it rained 4 inches in 45 minutes completely overwhelming our dual sump pumps. At 12:30 am Bob had Steve come out with a pump. Pumped out the basement, & brought industrial size fans & an enormous dehumidifier. Later, Steve installed a new sump pump with a 2nd sump pump on battery backup. During the next rain, Steve called to see if everything was OK.

Very well. Weather was the only delay.

We first met Steve when he completed work on our neighbor home. We asked him for an estimate & arranged a time for him to complete our work. He was there, when he said he would be. He seemed very knowledgeable and did a great job. We are very happy with the service and will call this company again.

Steve showed up early which was nice was very professional and did a great job. Price was affordable, would use them for anything construction! At job!

Steve came quickly to give the quote & the guys he sent to do the work were fast, friendly & did a very thorough job. Steve came by @ the end to make sure I was happy & I’ve already scheduled & my next job w/Bob’s.

This was a positive experience for me from the quote there completion of the job. Professional. prompt and quality work. I definitely will use them again and will recommend them to friends and family. They were just super all the way.

Bob & Brandon were very punctual explained everything to me that they were doing. Bob when cleaned my gutters out for me while he was on the roof! Extremely pleased!

They were here in August of 2015. I called them for three months and never got a response. He was always saying, well let me get back with you and that was it. So finally I just left them alone. It was a leak just dripping from the faucet on the outside of the house. My insurance actually covered it.

I usually like to meet them on the porch or in the doorway but as soon as the door was opening he was making his way in. ?Very odd and not something you want as a homeowner. ?He did this 2 other times in the same visit. ?Price was extremely high and you can tell him and his assistant didn't respect the property. ?Everywhere they went in the house they left evidence that they were there. Unplugged lights and never plugged back in. Lost one screw to the switch plate. ALMOST broke a wooden air return by stepping right in the middle of. ?It is old and original to the house but its so out of the way of the walking area there should never be a reason to step there. ?Finally, they spoke to me as the homeowner much differently than they spoke to the prospective buyer who requested thier?service. Positive to me and then overheard doomsday conversations to the buyer. Just odd and makes me second guess everything they say.

Seemed to use a lot of sub contractors. Had to have them come out many times to fix small things, like finishing the painting. Never presented an itemized bill, just showed up one day with a lot of other workers asking for us to pay the bill. Horribly unprofessional. The work did completed, but you can still see where is wasn't done correctly. The ceiling has a line, the carpet has a line where the padding they replaced is, our carpet has a paint stain from the painter, and so on.

Didn't make it pass "GO". Why??

The owner, Bob, is a horrible person to work with especially towards women. The roof went fine, minus his workers leaving gloves in various parts of our gutter causing bad clogs. But, everything else went horribly. They came out 3 times to fix the toilet leak properly and it still isn't perfect. They replaced flooring and cracked several of the nice tiles that we were planning on leaving in when they were working on other parts of the floor. Part of the flooring they put in has gaps and is uneven. The painting wa's completely unprofessional and we could have done better ourselves--so many uneven lines and paint globs left on the borders, etc. The workers did a horrific job of cleaning up after themselves--leaving sawdust and nails and cigarettes all over the garage, yard and even some in the house. When I called him politely to have him come back to fix some of the issues, Bob literally yelled at me over the phone, calling me a liar. He was literally one of the worst people I have ever worked with on anything. He is a misogynistic, bigoted jerk. While we're generally happy with the roof, the rest of the work and his customer service is so poor that I would never recommend working with them.

It's been 4 months and they are still not done working on my house. For the interior of the house, they installed new drywall before working on the outside of my house. The cutouts for my outlets are too large. They wanted to use silicone calk to seal the drywall as well. The contractor then started working on the exterior and hammered the drywall loose from the interior. They kept breaking thinks and telling me that it was an easy fix. They pulled my stone face off to install vinyl siding but they did not remove any of the old wood. I have had the siding removed 4 times now and they are still nailing siding to old rotted wood. The contract that I signed stated that they were to remove all old wood. The siding is not in long pieces along the face of the house but in small irregular sections. They didn’t seal my windows either so now it rains into my house around the window. They even cut up my fence instead of taking it down and trampled over my flowerbed. I had to call the BBB before they would come back to do any repairs. However they do not want to do any work when I am here. I am taking photos of all the work done and they are trying not to be there when I am home.

This experience was wonderful from the initial contact to completion of replacing the roof. Bob was very informative and helpful in explaining the process and exactly what I was receiving as the final product. His workers showed up polite and were very focused in getting the job done. Clean up was great, nothing was left but a lovely new roof!

A couple of friends had contracted with me to paint my home. Due to various reasons, they did not finish the job. A relative suggested I call this provider to finish the painting. I called and the owner Bob came by at the appointment time we set. I discussed with him what had happened and could he finish the job in a timely manner. He was supportive of the mess I was in and discussed options to complete what had been started and left. A plan, date, and price was discussed and agreed upon. His team showed up on time and got right to work. The outcome more than met my expectations. Bob, as well as his team were very professional and customer focused.

The work was very good. Biggest issue was the amount of time it took to put the corner post on the porch. Overall I was really happy with their work.

They lied about the price. The guy gave me a quote of around $1,300 after getting a deal from Menard's. They had some issues with Menard's which left one of the workers very angry and would hardly talk to me. They did a good job on the flooring but when they were done, the price they told me was higher than the quote. They eventually came back and forced me to pay the new price. There was no negotiation. They just didn't want to talk to me anymore. I do not recommend them to anyone.

I never take the time to share feedback, but my recent experience with Bob's Construction warrants the note of appreciation and my suppoort for their business. I had the pleasure of working with Kyle. Kyle was extremely patient and professional in helping me evaluate three alternative roofing products including shake, a new synthetic shake, and a dimensional shingle. The process was time consuming, and it involved several conversations... A couple in the evenings and one on a weekend. Kyle is very experienced, and had all of the insights I needed to get comfortable with an investment that I will live with for many years. After helping to define the scope of the project, I took the time to get 4 bids. Kyle was not the lowest price, but he was within 5%. He desrved more, as he had the burden of answering all of my questions. He was the most articulate and accessible expert in the design phase of the project. I hired Bob's Construction becuase I was most comfortbale with Kyle and his company, and I was not disappointed. The process started on schedule, it was finished on schedule, and the results were exactly what I expected. No surprises.... It is nice to work with a professional organization that knows their craft, takes pride in their work, and makes customer satisfaction THE priority. Thanks to Kyle and his team-

Job was done very professional and quick. Price was very fair compared to other companies.

They were very professional from the time that I called in. They responded right away and set up an appointment for an estimate. When they came out, the salesman was very friendly and informative. I signed the contract that day. The work was completed within a couple of days. It looked good. And everything went very smooth. I would recommend this company , and I would use them again in the future.

Very friendly and professional. Crew showed up and knocked it out. Repaired a light that was broken during tear off without hesitation or question.

I have waited 6 months to post this review in hopes that Bob?s Construction would step up and correct the failures found by the City of Indianapolis Building Inspectors. At this point it appears that Bob?s would prefer to incur the penalties assessed by the City rather than deal with and correct the incompetence workmanship of their workers and their poor leadership throughout this project. Indianapolis City Inspectors have list the following violations: 1. The wrong permit was pulled, one for roof replacement rather than the correct one that was for the structural work listed on the estimate. 2. There was a need for plans to be drawn up and those plans needed the approval of the city structural engineers. Then the work to be done was to reflect those plans. No plans were submitted. It appears that no plans were even made or even discussed with the carpenters prior to beginning the work. 3. This third violation involves the choice of materials used as they must be capable of accommodating the load of the roof and transferring that weight to the supporting structural elements. This was not done. 4. The fourth violation listed and addressed by the City of Indianapolis involved the repairs that must be constructed to transfer all the load to the load resisting elements of the foundation. These violations were all related to the work that Bob?s Construction contracted to do but did without adequate planning or apparent understanding of the basic tenants of construction. From day one the workman did not appear to know how to do these repairs. Inspite of being told by myself and a neighbor in the construction business, they tried to take the bow out of old rafters by pushing them up in the middle of the bows with propped 2x6?s or improperly supported kneewalls. Not a single rafter was sistered onto the existing bowed rafters. The four day job turned into 9 days with different crews arriving to take over. 2 nights the roof was open to the air, not even tarped. A new roof was ?completed? after 3 days then areas torn off as they tried to address the ?repaired structure? underneath. Again, I have held off publishing this review in hopes that Bob?s Construction would address these issues with the supporting structure of my home, with the City Inspector?s Office, and now the Legal Department of the City of Indianapolis. Bob?s Construction has demonstrated that they do not have the ability to do this type of construction or to reply to the offices that govern this type of activity. Should they be allowed to licensed for it? NO!

The work was done promptly all work was completed in four days. Everything went well.

It went very well - particularly because mid-way through we had a sudden death in the famiily and much of our communication was while I was out of town. Bob's Construction did their best to ease the stress of that. We love our new bathroom (especially our bsth/shower) and we love our new kitchen. especially enjoyed working with Dave and Ryan. It was great fun going with Dave and hus wife to pick out our cabinets, flooring, etc. Very down-to-earth (my kind of folks!). :-)
