Blakley's Flooring

Blakely's responded to my request for a quote very quickly (over the weekend). They were unable to schedule the work for about a week, but once the appointment was made, they confirmed the day before and showed up within a few hours of the anticipated time. Work was done quickly and well, and the installer was pleasant and professional.

This project went great from start to finish! Hilery Kauffman is very knowledgeable about the flooring products offered by Blakley's and guided me through the process of selecting the product that was best for my home. She helped me with color selection as well. I had shopped quite a bit before deciding to work with Blakley's. There was no comparison in the professionalism and assistance provided to me by Hilery. Their price was slightly higher but my comfort level in working with Blakley's was the selling point. Blakley's subcontracts for their installations. The installers were pleasant and courteous. They answered all of my questions and ensured that I was satisfied with their work. Overall, the installation went very well.

Blakely's sales staff does not have adequate knowledge of its carpeting products and sold me a product that did not comply with what I had requested. When I was selecting the carpet, the sales person and I specifically talked about avoiding carpeting that showed footprints. As the carpeting was being installed, I could immediately tell that it showed everything. I immediately called the salesperson back and reported the problem. The manager of the store also called. Both told me that it would change after it was laid and vacuumed. It did not change, and I called lthe manager back and he came to my house and inspected the carpet, which was in two rooms. He agreed that the footprints did show, along with marks left by the vacuum. He admitted that he was surprised that the carpet would look like this, demonstrating that he did not know his product, either. The manager kept telling me that he wanted to make me happy, and finally offered to replace the carpet, but I would have to pay the labor. He quoted me a price for the labor which was even more than the price I originally paid when I had the carpet installed. I would not have complained about this had I not had a specific conversation about selecting carpet that did not show footprints. I was offended by the high labor quote from the manager. That is a great way to avoid replacing carpeting.

The carpet was installed in the great room, front room , and master bedroom. The hardwood went in the hallways, kitchen, and front bedroom (office).

Fantastic, very professional, were done before my expected time. Cleaned up great put items back were they were. I want to esp. express how great Julie is. She is so helpful and does a great job following up with you and keeping you informed of everything going on. She is a joy to work with. Very personable and great smile. I need to split this review into 2 completely separate experiences: the sales and the installation. The sales experience was wonderful. I knew that Blakley's is considered to be on the high end, and they certainly proved that with Jennifer Gross, our sales associate. Jennifer spent time with my wife and I on 2 separate occasions and gave us her undivided attention. She was very responsive, informative, and professional. I would recommend Jennifer in a heartbeat. She gets an A+. Which is why the installation, in contrast, was such a huge disappointment. After the sale, Jennifer handed me off to Janet, their installation coordinator. I asked Janet to call me 20 minutes before the installers got to my place, so I could leave work. Janet gave me a call and told me that they were on their way. I hurried to leave a busy day at work to meet them there, and I waited for 30 minutes with no installers. The laminate installer finally showed up 30 minutes late, and had no idea what my name was, or where the other guys were. I asked him if I could show him around the entire place, because I had to leave. He said that Jay (the lead for the job) should be there shortly and he gave me Jay's number. I left my place feeling quite uncomfortable about the situation, but I had no choice. I called Jay on the way back to work. No answer. I left a voicemail and asked him to call me PRIOR TO DOING ANY WORK. Jay never called me back. I called him multiple times that day. He never called me back. I called Janet at Blakely's. She texted Jay and asked him to call me. He never called. Then, Janet completely disappeared. I could never get ahold of her again after a certain point. At the end of the day, I went back to my home to take a look at the place. Nobody from Blakely's even called me to tell me the job was complete. Nobody offered a summary, or a walkthrough, or instructions. Nada. It's like they just dropped off the face of the earth. I walked through my place and there was carpet trash all over, in every room, even outside on my door stoop. Upstairs, the sliding doors on one of the bedroom closets were not re-attached at all (the doors were leaning against the bathroom counter). Also, there was a vent cover in one of the closets, just laying there. Apparently they covered a vent (somewhere) and did not cut a hole open for it. I called Jay AGAIN, and this time he picked up. I explained the situation to him, and he offered to come back the next day to fix these issues. Oh, and he told me that I needed to leave some tape on the laminate flooring for 24 hours. Thank you? Why didn't anyone explain this to me before that? Like I said, they just walked out of my place, leaving things halfway done, and not doing one bit of follow-up with their customer. After Jay came back to fix these items and cleaned up the mess, I can say that I am now happy with the final product. But Blakley's really seems to have a problem executing in this area. So, the install team, in my opinion, gets a D. If you are expecting a 5 star experience from this shop, I am here to tell you that it will end once the sale is complete, which is a shame, because I really wanted to like them.

Worked with our contractor and move-in schedule, including working 12 hours straight to finish the install in one day.

For the most part it was good. The quality of the installation itself was good. I felt they had too many people on the job and at two points we had to leave, because we had no bathroom to use and we had to eat. When we came back one time, they had taken their tools and taken the marble flooring up and it created a fine dust and they put no barrier up, so we are still dusting every square inch of the house. And I think if they had been a little smaller crew and they had been going a little slower, they would have had a barrier up. I think they were just working too fast to get it done. But the quality of the installation, if you look at each board and each tile, is very good. I would consider using them again, but I think I would take more time to shop.

My experience overall with Blakely's went very well. We actually ended up getting an upgrade. Judy was very patient with us.

We wanted to work with a local company and found every one to be very professional. The salesperson was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient (I took home many samples over a a few months before deciding). She offered many suggestions and did a great job following up. The father-son team of installers were top-notch! They were very efficient and did a super job! They even had to work around our dishwasher being repaired during the installation. We couldn't be happier with our new flooring---no complaints. Well worth the cost.

They went above and beyond working with our schedule to meet at our convenience. All calls were answered and returned in a timely matter. The guy was right on time and did a fabulous job.

They provided great service and great customer service. They also had knowledgeable intallers.

Blakley's Flooring have a good reputation. The job they did for us was excellent. The installers were very, very knowledgeable about hardwood and how to install it properly. It was for two rooms. Their prices were reasonable. I haven't had any trouble with it since they installed it.

Blakely's went above and beyond to make sure that I was a satified customer. The quality and workmanship was excellent!!!!!! I would recommend this company to anyone who was interested in being in front of a very trustful and reputable company. Truly thankful!!!

They have been great at working with us and the manufacturer to get everything done correctly. I really like how their pricing covers everything, not just the carpet but the installation as well. We were very happy with their service and would recommend them to everyone.

We purchased a 7 year old home in Carmel and decided to replace the carpet before moving in. We visited Blakely's Showroom in Carmel and immediately knew that this was the right place. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable, and they had a very nice show room with plenty of selection. We made several visits to the showroom, and the staff worked very well together as our primary sales person, Jennifer, was not always working when we visited. They sent out a very nice man to do the measuring and the quote that was provided gave a number of options based on different rooms and carpet styles that we were considering. Overall the sales process was very enjoyable, we received a high level of service, and at no point did we feel like anyone was trying to "sell" us anything. We placed our order and gave them the dates that the home would be available. They were able to get the carpet in time to begin the installation on the requested dates. We gave them 2 days to do this very large job, however they got about 90% of the work complete on the first day. We were not living in the house at the time and there was no furniture for the crew to move. The crew did outstanding work, and did not damage any walls or trim. We were not present during most of the work, however, my wife was there for a short while. Her observation was that they crew may have been a little "rough" in that they may have argued with each other and been slightly/loud or unprofessional in they manner in which they conducted themselves. This is not at all a complaint, but maybe just a comment to set expectations. The guys did do great work, and we are extremely satisfied.

Worked with the Blakleys in Carmel. Working with customer service, we picked a carpet that most closely matched an existing carpet in a nearby room. We ran into a problem where the carpet was out of stock and we found out within a few days of installation that it would not be getting produced at the supplier. Although inconvenient/frustrating to not get the carpet we wanted, the folks at Blakleys quickly found a similar carpet that was very close to our original selection that was in stock, plus knocked $100 off the price for the inconvenience. The installers were prompt, professional and took their time to install the carpet properly. Finished product looks great. Will definitely use them in the future.

Hillary at Blakely's was terrific. She asked all the right questions to ensure that the carpet she showed us matched our needs and expectations. The selection was vast and so were the price ranges, but working with her allowed us to pinpoint a carpet that is perfect for our space. Blakely's allowed us to take samples home without paying a fee and provided a free quote. Because I love a bargain, I shopped around. Blakely's beat all the big box stores that carried a comparable carpet on price, service, and installation. There were no hidden fees to jack up the price and the installers were professional and courteous. We will definately use Blakely's again when we need new carpet in the rest of our home.

Maureen patiently helped us chose our flooring. She allowed us to take home samples as well as view many in the showroom. She also scheduled measurements and installation. Everything went according to plan and we love our new carpet.

Our bedroom carpet was the oldest carpet in our home. We had finished repainting all the rooms in our upstairs this fall and wanted new carpeting to finish the make-over. Blakley's had the carpet we wanted, at a good price. The installation is beautiful. I can not tell where the seams are. The installers were very professional, on time and wasted no time goofing off. Now we are eager to have this same carpet installed in our living/dining rooms.

They were right on time. We would use them again in the future.

Worked with sales representative Kathy Sloan, who is one of the nicest I have ever encountered in retail. She was very knowledgeable, as well as being prompt on returning calls. Everything went very smoothly, installers were professional, on-time and completed everything earlier than estimated, which is always nice. All in all, a great experience and will be contacting them again when the next time comes.

Picking out what we wanted was fine. The measurement was delayed 1 week. The price was more than other places, but I thought I would get better service and installation. The house was vacant but still had all the furniture and some personal items in it. I arranged for delivery of the flooring by them using the garage code. I was told the flooring would be placed inside the house and opened up so it would breathe before installation. I was to receive a call when they were on their way to the house. I did not have to be there when it was delivered. I arrived at the house and found the garage door open and the flooring on the garage floor. The entire house was open and anyone could have come in and stolen everything, TV's, VCR's, furniture, etc. I couldn't believe it. I had no idea how long the house had been exposed. I was extremely lucky nothing was taken. The installation took place the next morning. I arrived and told the installers what had happened and asked them to make sure the garage door was closed when they left. I had purchased white quarterround to replace any that might be damaged during the install. I had also purchased dark stained quarterround to be used around the two bathroom vanities. I showed the installers the two different kinds and they said it wouldn't be any problem to use it. When I arrived at the house later that afternoon, I was very disappointed to see that they had installed white quarterround around the dark vanities and not even touched the dark stained quarterround. Marks were on the walls that couldn't be removed. The installation was very poor. I called the office and they didn't know anything about why the wrong quarterround was used. The person at the office called back and said the installer didn't even remember the job they had done the day before and couldn't comment on what happened. They said they could schedule a repair visit, but I told them I really didn't want them at my house again and that I would take care of it. I had a handyman doing other work and luckily he was able to clean up their mistakes. They have a very nice store and a nice selection, but not very good service or installers which was supposed to be a good thing because they aren't subcontractors, they are actually employees.
