Description of Work: After discussing and quoting through multiple flooring businesses in the North Indy area, we selected Blakley's for our flooring project that included 3/4" hardwood and carpet. | |The experience of working with the Blakley's team was great. They were very good at listening to our input and provided excellent recommendations for products based on our discussion while we were in the showroom; we even received phone calls and emails a few days after our showroom visits with notice of additional product choices. That level of customized recommendations, responsiveness to questions and excellent follow-through helped solidify our decision to choose Blakley's over other flooring vendors. | |Cost of our flooring choices were competitive with other flooring vendors in the area; Blakley's usually priced at-or-slightly-below competitors. However, always remember that it pays to be an educated consumer, gain knowledge about what you're shopping for and to comparison shop. | |The teams that completed the installation of our hardwood and carpet were courteous and professional. We made sure to follow the pre-installation instructions (unhook appliances and electronics, move fragile items from the work area, secure pets, etc.) which made the removal/installation easy for everyone. | |About 1 month after install we have no issues or complaints about the product we chose or the quality of the installation.

Description of Work: We carpeted most of our house with Blakley's Flooring, and the entire experience was fantastic! From the initial meeting, they completely understood what we were trying to accomplish and delivered more than our expectations had been. They were prompt and on time, and the install was excellent. I would highly recommend Blakley's to any homeowner.

Description of Work: They stretched the carpet in one bedroom that had wrinkles in it. They called at the last minute and said they couldn't come but we told them that since they called the day before to check, we had moved some furniture and decorations so the work could be done and we needed it to be completed on the day promised. They did come and did the work.

Description of Work: We have worked with them several times before and never been disappointed. When you factor in the hidden costs that big box stores add and then consider the guarantee of quality product and service with Blakeley's, Blakely's is always a good choice. We put our project on hold, so we did not purchase anything this time. Hilary was helpful and patient throughout this process.

Description of Work: Sales person Judy was good to work with and the workers who installed the floor did a good job and were very polite to my wife who was there with them most of the time. The only problem I had was the lack of communication between sales and the person who measures the job. Sales and I signed a contract and agreed on a price after an initial bid. However, after the deal was made and papers signed, they sent another person to more accurately look at the job and measure. This ultimately increased the cost! Seems to me, that should have happened before the agreed upon price and signed contract. I understand wanting to measure the job carefully to be able to provide instructions to the workers, but when this step has the ability to alter or change the price, that extra " measuring step" should occur before the final agreed upon price!

Description of Work: We heard wonderful things about Blakely's from friends who had used them and from Angie's List. Our experience was fine in some respects but also a but disappointing. We needed the carpet in our entire house replaced. Our initial meeting at Blakely's went well; we chose our carpet, and set the date for our install (in November). Due to a flaw in the production of the carpet (which we know was the manufacturer's fault and not Blakely's), we did have to reschedule for a later date. We appreciated that they checked the carpet beforehand and were fine rescheduling. Then, we were asked later to reschedule AGAIN for an undetermined date because the manufacturer had not taken into account just how popular their recent sale had been and were overbooked. We had the option of coming in and picking out new carpet at a comparable price; however, it was nearing Christmas and with plans to be out of town, this was not convenient for us. We finally had the carpet rescheduled for a late January date (after being told it would definitely be the first of January). Additionally, we were not offered any compensation for the challenges this was causing us after we rescheduled days off from work, dealt with this during a busy holiday season in hopes to have the carpet for Christmas, etc. When we inquired about some sort of compensation/recognition for the fact that we had to wait nearly 3 months for carpet that had been promised to us much sooner, we were granted $150 off our sale. The install itself went fine; the installers were on time, very easy to work with, professional, and did a great job handling our large pieces of furniture. We have been a little disappointed at the seams being very visible in some parts of the house, but these may settled in over time as the carpet settles and continues to be "broken in." We understand that some of what happened was not Blakely's fault; however, we felt that the communication about what was happening could have been better. We would probably try them again; however, if we had a similar experience in future, we would rate them much lower and probably not go back.

Description of Work: Our experience at Blakley's was excellent from the sales person and process to the installation people and process. The carpet is exactly what we wanted and couldn't be happier. The price was very competitive. We will definitely go back for our next project.

Description of Work: They came in to stretch carpets on stairs and three rooms. The people are polite and responsive. When I called back a few days later about a few remaining bumps, the owner came out himself to correct the problem. Overall, the price is the lowest I was able to find and the work was excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
