Description of Work: During a severe storm last summer large tree branches had fallen from a tree in our neighbors yard and landed against the side of our house and on the roof causing over $6,000 worth of damages. Belfor Indianapolis was contracted by our insurance carrier to prepare an estimate and make the repairs. The estimator was out that same afternoon which was nice. We had to wait a day for our neighbor to get the branches removed but afterwards a crew came and installed a new electrical meter box because the tree had destroyed the old box. They also patched a small hole in our breezeway roof. I had taped up some plastic over some broken window panes. Now that the emergency repairs were done I was told that a crew would come out and do the siding, gutter and replace the broken window panes. This is were communication breakdowns occurred some. It was about 2-3 weeks until that work was done. The people who installed the siding did a good job but they were not in any uniform just jeans or shorts and tee shirts. I believe one person was smoking which was ok I guess since they were outside. While they knew what they were doing there just seemed to be a lack of professionalism. Overall they did a good job but I am not sure if I would use them in the future based on the communication issues.

Belfor was recommended to me by my insurance agent after we had minor water damage in our basement. We worked with Doug who was very responsive, flexible in meeting times (able to meet at 8am or after 6pm if we needed) and helpful in explaining what work would be done. The actual guys repairing the walls (Michael and Leroy) did a good job and we are pleased with the result. There were some minor mistakes made during the repair (i.e. primer getting on walls that were not supposed to be painted) but they corrected the errors quickly and left the house in good condition. The prices were a little high, but they were able to get the work done quickly (within a week of contacting the company) so I was willing to pay the higher prices. The only complaint I have was that I was told the removal of the wet carpet and running of the fans would be a minimal charge, but ended up being about $1000. I am to blame for not getting the exact dollar amount up front, but felt a bit misled by the term and quot;minimaland quot;. Doug was able to work with us to reduce some of the charges, but I ended up spending more than I would have wanted to for that part of the work. I would just get everything up front and in writing before agreeing to any work in the future.
Description of Work: Removed wet carpet and pad, dehumidifier/fans to dry out the area, re-insulated and repaired drywall from floor to ceiling and scraped, re-textured and repainted the ceiling.

+ -1 moreReceived a very quick callback from Belfor after posting my job on ServiceMagic. They imediately wanted to come out and repair ceiling damage from an ice dam early this year. I told them I was ready for the fix, but needed an estimate before proceeding. After almost a week, a service man showed up and was very skeptical the repair could be done for the ~$1000 estimate the insurance company provided. He said he would go back and talk to the adjuster and get me the estimate later. After that, never heard from Belfor again! In the meantime, I went with Kevin Bowersock from Bowersock Texturing and Drywall. Very quick, fantastic job, and completed under $400. Highly recommend Bowersock for ceiling drywall repair!

They did everything perfectly. They came in and took care of everything, we didn't do anything and everything was back the same way. They are quite a team. A person that comes in and checks it all out and actually a team came in immediately to dry it all, next person came in to do the estimate of the damage, next group came in with all carpenters, painters, etc,. Our insurance company recommended them. I would rate them high overall.
Description of Work: I used Belfor USA Group Inc in May this year. It was an insurance quote. They tore off the pad of the basement as they had to do water damage work. They also replaced drywall and also redid the trim.

+ 1 moreIt could have been an incredibly stressful experience, but Belfor took charge and I was very pleased with the work. Hopefully, I will never have an emergency situation like this in the future, but if I do, I know who to call!
Description of Work: A neighbor of mine accidently drove his car through my garage while I was out of the country working for a couple of months. Belfor was suggested to me by my insurance agency, so I hired them over the phone. They were able to arrange getting keys to my house and by the time I returned home a few weeks later, the entire job was finished and my garage looked better than it did when I left.

The guy who came out from Belfor was good. He looked everything and wrote it down. He then emailed me the estimate.

+ 0 moreThey did work through my insurance compnay to replace a door that was broken into. They repainted the kitchen since they couldn't match the existing custom color. Excellant paint job. Makes our previous paint job look lousy. Very nice to work with. No complaints. I don't know about the price since insurance covered it. It was by far easier to jsut have them do the work since the insurance company recommended them.
Description of Work: Replace an entry door. Repalced a swing-in door with a sliding door. Painted kitchen walls. Restained wood trim with custom matched stain.

+ 2 moreAfter a car ran into my house(while I was out of the country!), my insurance company suggested Belfor and they were fantastic at coming in and completely rebuilding a side of my garage. They handled everything so professionally and quickly. They were completely finished by the time I returned. I ended up with a better garage than I had before the accident!
Description of Work: They rebuilt a large portion of my garage, including drywall, and re-siding one side of my house. They installed new garage doors, new drywall, new brick work and new wood trim. They also painted inside and outside.

The fire was small, however there was a lot of smoke damage. They were very good working with us. They used very good subcontractors. There were a couple of things throughout the project that we were unhappy about, however we were able to get them resolved. The overall cost of the work came to about sixty to seventy thousand dollars fortunately that was entirely covered by the insurance company.
Description of Work: Belfor USA Group Inc. came out to help clean up our home following a fire. They pretty much repainted the entire home, they did some molding work, and they replaced the floor, etc...

They did an excellent job cleaning things up. They brought in six blowers with a dehumidifier. Beth was at the house checking everything over several times as the blowers were in the house for five days. They replaced the carpeting and padding after the damage was assessed.
Description of Work: I worked with a lady named Beth Summers and she handled the dealing with the insurance company as well as us.

They have been great. I would definitely recommend this company for any catastrophic situations. They have all been very pleasant to work with and we've been very pleased with them. They've also done some furniture restoration for us. They are really working toward turning a negative situation into a somewhat positive one.
Description of Work: They are completely rebuilding our home that was damaged in a fire. The company our insurance provider initially recommended didn't come out the night of the fire which we found to be unacceptable, so we went another route and we're happy we did.

+ 1 moreBelfor was definitely professional, prompt, thorough, and courteous throughout our septic ordeal. They thought of many things to make the process less stressful for us. When we decided to change some of the flooring from carpet to laminate they were very helpful and very fair on the cost of the upgrade. I can't imagine having anyone better to deal with in an emergency.
Description of Work: A septic overflow caused a great deal of damage to over half our home. Our insurance company (USAA) gave us a choice of firms to use for clean-up and restoration. Our only experience with an air conditioner water leak allowed us to eliminate that company since we had not been pleased with their services. We agreed to use Belfor even though we had no idea who to choose and time was of the essence. They were VERY prompt in coming out, moving damaged furniture and goods out of the affected areas, setting up fans, removing drywall, disinfecting, etc. During the weeks following, they did everything possible to make a very unpleasant situation better. They were helpful and considerate in helping us cope with the initial trauma and this continued throughout the cleaning and restoration: drywall, painting, flooring replacements, moving, packing up and entire China cabinet, curio cabinet, offering replacement and restoration options, carpentry and countless other details.

They were excellent people.
Description of Work: They repaired smoke damage from a fire. They came in and cleaned all the walls, replaced the cabinets, and even worked with us to help us save money. We used the money they saved us to put carpet in another room. They re-did all the wiring and light fixtures. They washed down all the walls, ceilings, and floors throughout the house. They also cleaned out the air-ducts. We were also able to put new curtains in the kitchen and living room with the money they saved us. They worked with our insurance company.

OUR BASEMENT FLOODED AFTER 5PM THE DAY BEFORE A LONG HOLIDAY WEEKEND, YET THERE WERE WORKERS THERE IMMEDIATELY WORKING ON THE PROBLEM AND STARTING THE DRYING OUT PROCESS.
