Bauer Pump & Well Service

Previously, I had an ordinary plumber come by but he said that the problem was at the pressure tank, and he did not want to do that. I then got quotes from 4 other well companies, and Bauer was $200 less expensive. Plumber arrived with a helper and they had the tank replaced within an hour. Some of the pipe fittings were so corroded that they had to cut off the tank at the pipe.

We were experiencing low water pressure. We had two plumbing companies look at our system. Both said that we needed a new pump and holding tank for a cost of anywhere from $5,000 to $6,000. Bauer said that we just needed a stronger well pump and higher pressure gauge for half the cost. He was able to make the repairs the same day that he did the inspection. The work was completed on time and we now have great water pressure.

They came right out to address the problem and fixed it immediately. I liked that they were so prompt even though it was after business hours.

They came at the time they said they would. Checked the well pump and the tank. Did tests and determined that my problem was not the pump, but the water softener. However, they did determine that the water pressure control did have some wear and although they did not recommend an immediate change, I requested they go ahead and do the change now, rather than waiting a year or so for it to go bad. They were very through in their examination and very helpful with their suggestion. And, yes, changing the water filter in my water softener did help, plus they did change the pressure on the well pump. They were very nice about answering all my questions. I felt they did a good job and would not hesitate to call them again should I have a problem.

When Mr Bauer arrived the problem was not doing what it was when I called. Mr Bauer told me to call back if the problem comes back. I was only charged half for the service call.

I called Thursday afternoon regarding a water pressure problem. They can out Friday morning as scheduled diagnosed the problem and fixed it while they were here. I was impressed that they had everything they needed with them on the truck and did not need to make a return visit. They were polite and efficient and very knowledgible about the equipment. I would definitely recommend them.

Well water pump ran too frequently and blew fuses. Greg Bauer came out to my home on a Saturday morning and diagnosed a problem that another plumber (from whom I had purchased a deal on Angie's List) had dismissed as nothing 2 days earlier. In less than 2 hours, Greg and Travis replaced my well water storage tank and the pressure control device in my basement. I was so grateful for their help and for their explanation of what had gone wrong with the tank. Two plumbers in the past year had dismissed my complaints, so I was especially appreciative of Greg's quick diagnosis and service.

I contacted Greg, the owner, around noon on Friday, December 28th after the company I hired to come 3 days prior canceled with me last minute because he has obviously overbooked himself and gave too many promised at once. I explained to Greg that I had been without water for 3 days and that the guy I hired canceled and I REALLY needed someone to come that day if at all possible. He said that he couldn't promise anything since it was such late notice and he was booked for the day, but if anything changed he would call me and come to help. Well, he called later that afternoon saying that he had a cancellation and was available. He met me at my house and started work at 3pm and was done in 3-4 hours to install a complete well pump, electrical wiring work up and piping. YIPPEE, after 3 days without water we were delighted to have water once again. I will say we had to clean our filter that runs to the water softener several times the next morning to get our water pressure back enough to have running water. Greg and his assistant did an awesome job on last minute notice and I will call him back when we need any well services in the future. STRONGLY RECOMMEND! After seeing Bauer Well and Pump Services I called to make an appointment and talk about my need to find out what was there. Mr. Bauer talked to me about what might be needed and I told him about the previous companies I had contacted to see about the well. He told me he could check out the well within the next couple of days. He came out and checked the home to see if there was a current well which was operable. Since it was a buried well he had to find out where it was located. He dug to find the well and and ascertain whether or not he could fix the well, etc. He told me the labor to find and check the well would cost $300, but it would be part of the total cost if I had to have a new well dug. He told me that he could get it all done for the price of $4,000. to $4,500. He told me he would have to dig a trench and thought it would run into the buried well and he might find a riser. He said the well system was very old because newer systems would have a marker where you didn't have to look for the well. He had to dig through lots of gravel and rock to find the buried well. Once he found the well there wasn't enough water to use it, so he put in a new well with a submersible well pump. He took out the current well pump in my basement and put in a line through the crawl space and hooked it up to the water softener and made all adjustments needed. Once all the work was done he called me and I met him at the house to check everything out and pay the bill. He explained to me how to turn the water on and what was hooked up to what, etc. He told me to let the water run for several days to get all sediment, etc out of the line. After using the water for awhile I should have the city come out and check the water to make sure it was okay for my use, etc. He handed me an invoice for $4,900. I paid him and he told me if I needed anything else to please contact him and he would take care of any problems I might have. I was satisfied with his services and I would use him again and would recommend him to others. He was professional, knowledgeable about his work and very easy to talk to about the well situation. He was easy to reach and stayed in contact with me during the entire job. I was not expecting the total cost to be more than $4500. since the $300. for finding the well was to be included in the total cost if I had to have a new well. I needed the work done, so I paid the price. If there was one thing I could have changed it would have been the price. Other than that I was totally satisfied with his services.

The service was great. He did an excellent job, and was very good about explaining things. I appreciated how quick he was to respond as well. We were in a pretty bad situation, and both times I called he was very responsive. He did a lot of work for me, and he was very nice. I would recommend them.

I called Bauer Pump & Well and Greg Bauer promptly returned my call and we set a date for him to service my inside tank. He was on time and immediately determined the component that needed replacement and made the necessary repairs. Additionally he checked the complete system to make sure everything was working properly. Greg was helpful in explaining what the problem was and in making the repairs. The entire visit was about 45 minutes and he was on his way. My pump and inside tank was installed by Greg approximately 16 years ago and we've had no issues until this repair which had nothing to do with his original installation. They had replaced the same 22 years ago with no follow-up maintenance in that period required. This attests to the quality of parts, workmanship and customer service provided.They responded to the repairs very quickly as the well went out while we were on vacation and our daughter was house-sitting( in the middle of a shower with a head of shampoo). Their home office and field staff was responsive every time we called for an estimate or work status. When they finished, they called us right away (in Wyoming) and our daughter (in Fishers). They called back on a timely basis, gave me a quote over the phone , came out the next day and replaced the pump in less than one hour. Great job at a fair price.

I was having problems with my water softener, and I was told by my water softener people that I didn't have enough water pressure, and that my well pump was running continuously, and suggested I contact my well and pump people. I contacted Greg Bauer who cam out the same day and a couple of hours earlier then he originally said he'd be there. After inspecting the situation, Greg made some adjustment to the pump control, but told me that there was a problem with my pump or my well. He quoted me $3500 minimum to fix things, but advised me that should consider hooking up to Carmel city water. Before they left, they recharged my pressure tank.

Mr. Bauer is great to work with. He answers calls and inquiries promptly (within minutes after calling the main office) and was able to do the work the day after confirming the bid. Work was done on a house we have on the market and Mr. Bauer made it easy to get the work done without me being present. The exterior sump drain was extended to the back of our property, laid beneath grass. The work was done neatly with no upset to the yard. Price was also competitive. Excellent work!

I called Greg Bauer, our regular pump guy, to help us when our water pressure became worse and worse. He returns calls very promptly and comes out quickly every time. He noticed the water level in our well was very low and the sides and mechanisms inside were heavily rusted, indicating a leak of some kind. He pulled the impellers and took them to his shop to try to clean them up and test them. Got them running pretty well at 100psi to boot. Couldn't salvage the drop pipe, so he replaced that and the impellers within a couple of hours. Saw that our tank inside was losing pressure, which it shouldn't have been. It was only 3 years old and under a 5yr warranty. He insisted on calling the supplier to consult about that, and ended up getting a free replacement tank for us, which he put in a few days later. I would not have known to call the supplier for a free tank. I rely on his expertise, but Greg always goes above and beyond on his own initiative, trying to save us money and hassle. He could have just sold me a new "wet end" part of the pump or a new entire pump when he first came out. Instead, he offered me the option of him cleaning them first to see if that would do the trick. Every step of the way, Greg is looking how to best solve the problem in the most economical, efficient manner. He and his son worked outside for a long time in the 33degree rain. Every time he came inside to turn things on/off or to test something, he removed his boots at the door. He is very conscientious. Alas, the clean-up of the impellers and new drop pipe weren't quite enough. We still had very low water pressure. He advised we get our geothermal heating system checked for some malfunction first, because when the heat was on, water pressure was really poor (22psi). It seemed to check out fine. The next step to try was the new pump. He said he'd put it in at cost and DID NOT charge me any labor for that! They put it in in about an hour. He waited to watch the pump kick on and saw that the new pump was functioning superbly. Water was really flowing at 25 gal./minute, when it had been an "ok" 15 before the new pump. Looks like we're in business. Everything works great so far!! We have terrific water pressure. He promised to return (free) in a couple of months to follow up and make sure the seal in the well was holding. He is also monitoring our tank, and will check back in a couple of years to see how it is holding up. He'll keep advocating for us and will get us a new tank under warranty if need be. I cannot say enough good things about Greg Bauer. He is extremely prompt, professional and courteous. He really knows his business, and explains things so I can understand them. Before I knew to call him, I got erroneous and costly advice from a larger company. I called Bauer for a second opinion, and have been so grateful ever since. He always respects the homeowner and the home. He remembers us even years between service calls. He always tries to offer economical alternatives. He works very hard to get us water quickly in any weather. I saved over $1,000 with his personalized, generous, amiable and expert service. THIS is what a super service provider looks like. I called the company and I was told that someone would call me back to let me know when someone could come out for an estimate. Mr. Bauer called back within one MINUTE! He said that he could come out later today and would call before they came. A few minutes later he called back and said they had something open up and they were on their way. He and the other gentleman knew right away what the problem was. They dug up the area and had the job complete and cleaned up in a very timely manner. They were professional and friendly. We would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone on a well!!!

We woke up to find about 5 inches of water in our basement after a very bad rain storm at the end of February. After calling several plumbers that day, Greg Bauer was the first to respond. He and his apprentice came out promptly to assess the problem. They were willing to walk and work through the freezing cold water to replace our sump pump. They put in a brand new pump in about an hour. Greg wanted to come back once the water went down to check his work and stabilize the pump. Upon returning, they found the new pump was not working correctly and replaced it with another brand new pump. They even cleaned out the debris and dirt from the hole to make sure nothing would get caught in the pump. Greg was able to educate us on how to run the pump and how to keep it running longer. He did great work and was very timely. I appreciate he checked his work and replaced the original pump with another new one without issues. I would recommend him to others.

Was first company to return calls after waking up to no water. Arrived 1 hour prior to promised time. Did call first to let us know he was on his way and beat us to the house. Was able to diagnose and replace the well without having to leave and come back. Stayed for 5 hours until the job was complete. Could be more forthcoming with information, including fee estimates, with clients. Overall satisfied.

There was no water at our home and Bauer was prompt to return our call for help. They called again before arriving the same day. Bauer diagnosed the problem in about 30 minutes and completed repairs within about an hour. They were very professional and clean.
