He promised that he was not "cut and run" type and will honor the contract with quality workmanship. I withdrew the report 2-Oct-07 and expecting calls from him in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks passed and Mr. Spencer failed once again with his promises. I then left messages on his voice mail 23 and 24 of Oct. Mr. Spencer left me a voice mail on 25-Oct- and said was taking a class in Carmel to keep his building licences current and he could not be reached that day. He gave excuse after excuses and how busy he was and his electicians was out of town and so on. That was the last contact I had from Mr. Spencer. On 5-Nov-07, Mr.Tim Hood (the electrician) called & claimed that he bought Mr. Spencer out and want to come and finish the work. We met Mr. Hood on 12-Nov-07 and he indicated he could complete the unfinished works if we pay him. He said Mr. Spencer had taken the money and did not leave him any to finish the work left in our asement. I left another message on 12-Nov and had not heard back.

Bob Spencer of Basement Brothers was called for an estimate to build an office in our unfinished basement. Our call was promptly returned and he provided a very professional estimate of the project. His bid was not the highest nor was it the lowest. The basement was framed out, a storage closet was built, drywall installed, can lights in the ceiling, and electrical outlets were also installed. The ceiling was textured to match the rest of the house and the walls were painted. We are completely satisfied with the work performed and it was completed in a timely manner. Bob was very easy to work with and addressed all of our requests. The project came in a little under budget.

They came out quickly to give an estimate. They had good ideas and seemed interested. They stated that we would have an estimate within three days. We never received the estimate and attempts to contact them were not successful and messages left were not returned. First of all, I did not ask him to do any waterproofing, as I was in the process of lining up a waterproofing company. He was asked to come in after to finish the basement. Secondly, there was very little mold--more rot on a three foot section of sole plate. It had not "taken hold of the walls". He at no time indicated that he was not interested in the project, actually he spent a good deal of time with us giving us some good ideas. In addition, as he left he indicated that he would get us an estimate asap, but asked if we could wait a few weeks since he was taking his wife on a cruise. We never got a phone call or letter from him as we couldn't even get him to return our phone calls.

Bob is extremely professional. He's a clean cut guy, who has good subs working for him. He met all deadlines, and was good about returning calls. He did some extra work at no extra charge. Our basement looks terrific. We found a few loose-ends in the dry-wall. He quickly addressed the issues to our satisfaction. He was not the lowest price, but for the money, he was the best we had encountered.

Highest recommendation for Bob and his team. Always on time, from quote through to delivery. Delivered on all his promises. Excellent communication of status (good news and bad news) throughout the project. Very helpful in finding subs for other needs. Extremely friendly and trustworthy. Crew was professional and cleaned up work area after each phase. Very satisfied with final product and quality of work.

BOB SPENCER IS PROFESSIONAL, TRUSTWORTHY AND DEPENDABLE. HE HAS A TEAM WHICH CAN PERFORM ALL BASIC BASEMENT REFINISHING WORK AND I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH EVERYONE EXCEPT THE PLUMBER WHO MADE A COUPLE OF MISTAKES WHICH BOB RECTIFIED. IT'S CHALLENGING TO SCHEDULE AND COORDINATE VARIOUS TECHNICIANS SO THE WORK TOOK LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED, BUT I WOULD PREFER QUALITY WORK RATHER THAN SPEED. I WOULD RECOMMEND BOB TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A REASONABLY PRICED BASEMENT REMODELING JOB AS OPPOSED TO LUXURY HIGH-END AMENITIES.

BOB WAS TERRIFIC. REALLY APPRECIATED HIS IDEAS FOR OUR BASEMENT, AND HE DID A GOOD JOB PUTTING TOGETHER BLUEPRINTS. PRICE WAS TOO HIGH, BUT IF WE COULD AFFORD IT, WE DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE HAD HIM DO THE WORK AS HE SEEMED SO THOROUGH, PROFESSIONAL AND TIMELY IN HIS RESPONSES.

THIS WAS A BASIC BASEMENT FINISH, NO BATHROOM OR WET BAR. OVERALL, I WAS VERY SATISFIED, AND MY KIDS ARE REALLY ENJOYING USING OUR NEW ROOM FOR TV AND POOL. WE HAD SOME DELAYS, BUT BOB WAS VERY GOOD ABOUT COMMUNICATING WITH ME ON WHAT WAS HAPPENING. HIS FOLLOW-UP IS EXCELLENT, GOOD ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

HE IS VERY OUTGOING, RELIABLE, AND A GREAT PERSON TO WORK WITH. HE DOES EXCELLENT WORK.

WE HAD AN EXCELLENT START-TO-FINISH EXPERIENCE WITH BASEMENT BROTHERS. WE HAVE A HOME THAT WAS BUILT IN THE 1960S AND WANTED A STATE-OF-THE-ART THEATER ROOM IN THE BASEMENT. WE HAD VAGUE IDEAS OF WHAT WE WANTED, BUT BOB OF BASEMENT BROTHERS TOOK THOSE GENERAL IDEAS AND DESIGNED A COMPLETED ROOM THAT FAR SURPASSES ANY OF OUR EXPECTATIONS. THE QUALITY OF OUR BASEMENT FAR EXCEEDS THAT OF OTHER BASEMENTS WE HAVE SEEN THAT COST MORE THAN TWICE OUR COST. BOB AND HIS TEAM WERE EXTREMELY HARD-WORKING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. DUE TO THE AGE OF OUR HOME, THEY REGULARLY CAME ACROSS SURPRISES DURING THE REMODELING PROCESS. THEY HAD AN EXPERT SOLUTION FOR EACH AND EVERY PROBLEM AND NONE IMPACTED THE OVERALL TIMELINE. BASEMENT BROTHERS IS A HARD-WORKING, HONEST, RELIABLE, KNOWLEDGEABLE COMPANY WHO I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ABSOLUTELY ANYONE.
