Overall, it went well. There were some issues with punctuality due to a storm in OH that delayed them arriving at my home, which was a problem because of my work obligations. Communication could have been better. However, as soon as I called, they were very responsive and apologetic, which goes a long way. The work they did was as expected. The main contractor also gave me advice to call someone to check out the drainage system, which may be my problem. I greatly appreciated his suggestion to help troubleshoot my overall problem, rather than just put a bandaid on it.
Description of Work: Waterproofed half of my basement and hooked drainage system to previous waterproofing work and sump pump on other half of basement.

It has a lifetime warranty as long as the sump pump was working. Our lawn irrigation system broke and flooded everywhere. There was not a drop a moisture anywhere and I had water from the front of the house, to the back and beyond. They were very neat, punctual, tidy, and very efficient. I would hire them again and I have been recommending them to people ever since.

A year ago, we had a basement flood that caused extensive damage to the downstairs full bath, the two bedrooms and the large living area. We spent a lot for new carpeting. When we began to see leakage onto the floor of the bedroom entirely embedded in the dirt. We sought 3 quotes and selected the Be Dry solution as the best and the most reasonable price for the service. They called within 48 hours to make an appointment for the service. Since they needed to work in 3 of the basement rooms, the service took more than one day. They always give a date and time for return service and appeared within 15 to 30 minutes of the specified time. WE are very pleased with their work and are completing the updates to the downstairs bathroom and living area.

We had B-Dry install a basement perimeter waterproofing system about 25 years ago. The original B-Dry franchise for central Indiana is no longer in business but the national service representative came to our assistance when we had some water seep into the basement during the wet Spring of 2011. The company had our information on file and there was no question about honoring the lifetime warranty. The only issue was responsiveness. Rick lives in northeast Ohio and serves an area including Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin, so it took him a month to get to us. He was very professional and did good work.
Description of Work: Repaired basement waterproofing system that had failed to prevent water from seeping in at a corner of the basement floor. The system was over 20 years old and had served well up to this incident. Rick repaired a corner section of the system where small particles had accumulated to clog the drain pipe. This is a section where the water flow is minimal so the particles did not flush out of the system. It took him about 3 hours to tear out a 6' section, remove sludge, replace the pipe and gravel, and seal with sand/concrete mix.

When it came time to show up and do the work the person scheduled to do the job had a family emergency that delayed the work a week. I sympathize with this and it wasn't a big deal except they were a little vague on when the work actually would begin, contributing to the B score for punctuality. They worked quickly and cleanly but when I tried to confirm that they had connected the two troughs the installer said "no, there's that cinderblock wall, cold air return duct work, yada, yada..." Huh? There was a hole there for the duct so it was basically the same surface they already dug through. It didn't dawn on me then that not connecting them meant the one sump could overflow negating our nifty one battery backup plan. So, they left and I had to call the office the next day to talk to the salesperson about why the work was not completed as planned. This is where it got very unpleasant. I left several messages for the sales person to call to discuss this and he would not call me back. I had to call several more times and when I finally did talk to him he seemed to not understand at all what we discussed in his sales pitch. He said he needed to discuss it with the installer and he would call back. A few days later I had to call AGAIN! Now the issue was the duct work and "they don't remove duct work, that's the homeowner's responsibility". Well, ok, could we have had a conversation about that when they were here, not just, "no, we couldn't"? It ultimately took me 5 minutes to remove the ductwork. I had to demand they come back and at least look at it and they said they would come back the next time they had work in Indiana. Again, I was patient for a few days. Finally I came to my senses and called them back demanding they come ASAP. They didn't complete the work so why should I wait for them to come to my area, I should be the reason they come to my area! This, plus the lack of responsiveness on the part of the sales person, resulted in the D for responsiveness. They came back a day later and ultimately were able to connect the two systems. They were jack hammering much longer than the first time they were here leading me to believe they just didn't want to work that hard the first time. Would I recommend the B-Dry system? Yes, the parts of our basement that have had this done have been dry despite several hard rains and local flooding. It's sad when service detracts from a good product and you have to work so hard to get a company to fulfill its commitments. I'm not sure why my call was directed to the Columbus OH company because the North Salem In folks were much more responsive.
Description of Work: We had used B-Dry in 2008 for another part of our basement and had a great experience. At that time the company came out of North Salem, IN. When I called this time I was sent by the number I called (an Indiana area code) to a company out of Columbus OH. The salesman came promptly, was very nice, seemed to understand our current B-Dry setup and proposed a very reasonable price for a small job plus a battery backup system. He proposed only installing a battery back up on one sump pump and have the new work connect the two B-Dry systems saving us about $900 on another battery backup. We were very happy with this proposal.

They gave me the cheapest quote. I liked what they told me about the system they would install, the warranty, and the price. When I called them to say I would use them, they never called me back. He came when he said he would come, but I wouldn’t use them again because they didn’t get back to me.

B-DRY WATERPROOFING is the main company that gave me the quote that another company would do the work for if I decided to pay for the services. I was impressed with the company. The representative that quoted me came all the way out from Columbus, Ohio. I decided not to go with them because it was a very expensive project. I figured I could figure something else out. Nonetheless, they were really professional.

The system has proven to work perfectly. They were very honest about what exactly I needed and gave good advice for what would work for my home, and what he would do in the situation. He had good prices and very logical in his estimates. This required a lot of handwork, and they did a great job. If anything did go wrong, they promptly corrected them, and really bent over backwards to help me. They are a small company but their service was top notch. Their primary concern was making sure I had exactly what I needed at a reasonable price, and they stand by their work, it is all good quality and backed by warranty. They cleaned so well afterwards. We would definitely use them again!
Description of Work: They did the waterproofing of my basement, breaking up then cement, digging past the footing, laying plastic tile and installing a new sump pump. They also installed tie rods and plates to stabilize the foundation walls every 5 ft around the perimeter of my home. This is a difficult job, they were careful around my home.

They installed the system in July '05. Didn't notice any problems with the system until about six weeks ago I noticed some water in the basement coming from an area close to one of the sumps, as well as our water softener. I had our plumber check the softener tank for leaks; he noticed none, but found mold on the drywall behind the tank. He noticed water leaking from under the wall in the area when the sump pump kicked on. We went outside to check the discharge line, and saw the line terminated only 18" from the foundation. He determined this was absolutely the issue with our wet basement, that the line was improperly designed/installed. I called BDry to look at the issue, and they refused to come to our house to look, that "the sump was out of warranty", "it wasn't their responsibility". They were very busy, and their NEW INSTALLATIONS TOOK PRIORITY OVER ANY SERVICE ISSUES(!) They blew us off without looking at their own work that was improperly installed!
Description of Work: Waterproofing system placed in our basement, basically consisting of a French drain around the interior perimeter of the foundation with two sump pumps attached. Our furnace/A/C drain line was also attached to drain into the system. The discharge lines for the two sump pumps run through the foundation to the outside of the house.

Outstanding service and work. Randy did an extensive investigation as to the source of our water issue and recommended a solution that was much less expensive than we anticipated. Came a week earlier to do the job than originally scheduled. The workmen were professional, neat and hardworking. Clean up was above and beyond. We have had no water in basement since work was done in mid-April - we certainly would have given the amount of rain. A success!

RANDY, THE ESTIMATOR, WAS FABULOUS. OF ALL COMPANIES CONTACTED, HE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS ON TIME. HE WAS THOROUGH, EFFICIENT, AND PROFESSIONAL. THE WORK WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND THE CLEAN UP WAS GOOD. THERE WERE A FEW THINGS THAT THEY NEEDED TO COME BACK TO FIX, BUT THEY DID SO PROMPTLY AND WITHOUT COMPLAINT. ROLAND, THE FOREMAN, WAS FRIENDLY, RESPONSIVE AND COURTEOUS. MY ONLY DIFFICULTY WITH THIS COMPANY IS THE FRONT OFFICE. THEY RARELY ARE AVAILABLE, AND IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH SOMEONE BY PHONE. OVERALL, IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE, EVEN THOUGH I WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE HAD THE FLOODING PROBLEMS AT ALL! THE TRUE TEST WILL BE WHEN THE FIRST BIG RAINS COME.
