B & B Fencing is custom fence builder located in Indianapolis, Indiana. We install wood, aluminum, vinyl and chain link fencing. The owners are on site for each installation so that we can personally guarantee that our customers are happy with their decision to build with B & B Fencing.
First off, the original installation was in the spring of 2011. There were some hiccups getting the installation completed (date was moved a few times), but it was completed in one weekend. The fencing itself is really great quality. There were some issues with the installation that I was willing to deal with, but felt the need to mention them here as I lead into my most recent interaction. 1. Fence post are put in at different heights. Some of this was due to how the ground was leveled, others were simply not put in correctly. I've chosen to deal with it as it could be much worse I suppose. 2. The price was a bit cheaper than other estimates because they did no cleanup after completion. All dirt left from digging the post was left in piles, but I was willing to accept that due to the cut in price and was advised up front of that. My choice. 3. Buried power line to our garage was cut in two places. The did a splice in both and so far we've not had any issues, but the line was cut twice just the same. Even with the above mentioned items, overall, we were pretty happy with the end result. It was less expensive than our other quotes and kept our dogs safe when in the yard. Enter September 11, 2014. Our neighbors tree crashed down onto our fence. Immediately when I noticed the damage, I called Mr. Douglas at 1:39pm, but there was no answer. I left a message and decided to text him to advise him of the issue around 2:17pm. He replied a few minutes later via text and asked for pictures, which I provided. He responded by saying "Looks like a basically tear out the entire fence and redo it all. I kidding settle down. I'll get u some numbers hopefully Friday mid day not by my stuff." I replied with 'Thanks.' On the September 12th, when I was able to assess things a little better, I sent him a text with what I thought we needed. No response via text, but I did see a read response that he had read the text. This was also the day he advised me that he would get me some numbers. He did not supply this information. On September 14th, I sent him a text with a change to what we needed. The tree trimming company who removed my neighbors tree accidentally dropped another branch on a different part of the fence, so we needed another full panel, so I wanted to advise him. I did not receive a response, but did receive a read response that he had seen my text. On September 15th at 9pm, I attempted to call him since I had not heard from him on Friday as he stated, but there was no answer, so I left a message asking him if he was able to get together a quote. On September 19th at 6:18pm, I left another voice message since I still had not heard from Mr. Douglas and at this point it had been a week. We managed to tie the fence together to keep our pets in, but still very concerned about getting a quote and having the work done. On September 20th at 11:25am, I received a text saying that he had ordered our fence last week, but needed to know how many and what kind of post was damaged so he could order the right one. He stated he had been out of town and the fence should be ready in a few weeks, nothing he could do about shipping but told the vendor ship ASAP and that he would 'hit me up' this evening when he gets back and give us a total for the job. He apologized and said he had been as busy as busy gets. I advised him we needed one in line post and two post caps in addition to the panels via text. He never 'hit me up' that evening. On September 23rd at 10:29am, I sent him a text asking if he as made it back into town. He read the text, but did not reply. On September 29th at 4:09pm, I sent him a text to see if he was still around. He read the text, but still no response. On October 9th at 11:06am, I sent him a text pleading with him to please let us know where we are with the order/repair. I said that he advised us he'd 'hit me up' on the 20th to go over things and never did. I also asked for a brochure (since I couldn't find mine I thought maybe I could just order the materials myself if I knew where to order them from). He read, but did not respond. On October 11th at 10:37am, I sent another text letting him know I was home for the morning if he had time to stop by. Told him I really wanted to see how much we were looking at and get the work done before the weather gets bad. I said it would be very much appreciated. I was working in the yard most of the day, but he never stopped by. He did read the text minutes after I sent it. At this point, I'm REALLY frustrated with lack of communication and follow up. I tore my office apart looking for the brochure and somehow, by some miracle was able to find it. Discovered the company was in New Jersey that manufactured our fence. I spent a few hours on the internet trying to find a local option of something that looked similar, but no such luck. I called the company and even though they don't deal directly with individuals usually, after I explained my situation, they were willing to allow me to place the order and have the parts shipped to my house directly. They had no record of him ordering the materials. In fact, they don't show a record of him ordering any materials for a few years, probably when he ordered mine in 2011. After our discussion, we both agreed reaching out to him one more time out of courtesy would be good and we'd place the order the next day. So, yesterday at 6:17pm, I carefully constructed and sent a text advising him that due to his lack of response, we didn't feel this was as big of a priority for him as it was for us and that we found the brochure and were ordering the materials ourselves. However, before we did, as a courtesy, we wanted to ensure he hadn't ordered them somewhere else. If I didn't receive a reply from him b end of day, I would order it myself in the morning. Thank you. He read 2 minutes later, but never replied. This morning, I ordered the materials myself. Still a little frustrated, I felt the need to share our story of the lack of communication and professionalism/common courtesy here on Angie's List. I thought it would be polite to let him know, just in case he actually did care enough to want to resolve the issue before I did so. BAD IDEA. He responded immediately (go figure) and said "Feel free to goodluck ordering your fence material." I advised him I already had and he immediately replied with "Stop bothering me." So I will. I figured I should share on here so nobody else 'bothers' him either.
Description of Work: The provider installed a vinyl fence around our entire backyard. We needed repairs to it due to tree damage.

I'm only writing this review in the spirit of why Angie's List was founded...to keep this from happening to someone else. Bottom line...does not seem to have a very honest approach to doing business...could have said he didn't want to do the job or was too large or complicated for his company to handle. So, although I cannot speak to the quality of their work, I cannot imagine relying on this company to honor their commitment on a warranty or other issues.
Description of Work: Called Mr. Kessler for a quote, of which he did come by at the appointed time. Said upon leaving my property that a quote would be emailed that day or the next. I've called and left several messages as a follow-up, with no response. At this point, I'm left wondering what the problem was, but I've moved on to other reputable contractors.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the work B & B Fencing did!NO PANELS!!!! Solid Fence! it looks great and has weathered the wind and rain of 2 years just fine, I look around my neighborhood and see nothing but panel fences, and they look like garbage, my fence is beautiful! They were quick, fair, and very pleasant to work with .I would and have given their name out to numerous people!
Description of Work: I googled "Fencing" in 46237 and threy were 1 of many options, I checked out their work online and liked what I saw. I had Brian come out and give me a quote, I emailed him and he contacted me the same day, he was friendly, kind and very easy to communicate with.I also had another company come out, they were fine, but way higher than B & B price wise. I called Brian and they were out in 2 days (Rain Delay) and finished the next day! They cleaned up their mess and left it in great shape.
