Description of Work: Boring for hook up of city water, collapsed septic tank and repaired sewer line. Steve from Augusta was great and his crew manager was great. Steve who estimated the repair was also here for the work performed which I think is important especially since it was decided the boring could be done in a different place that was better for all. They leveled off soil that had been excavated and were careful around our gardens. We would use and recommend them again with no hesitation. Price was current market cost.

Description of Work: Augusta Underground did an excellent job on our sewer hook-up. Mr. Steve Lowry spent close to an hour on the first visit discussing the job and considering various lay-outs. Our situation was a little more complex than usual, in that we have three pipes exiting the house and several large trees along the route. Mr. Lowry was great at explaining what needed to be done and it was clear he had many years of experience. I received the quote a few days later by e-mail. When it came time to do the work (several months later) all I had to do was send an e-mail and the administrative assistant called to explain the steps and set up a time. Because of the nature of the job, we needed to have plumbing adjusted inside to accommodate the new direction of fall. Mr. Lowry had recommended Mr. Jim Raikes to do this and the three of us met to discuss what needed to be done. Several widely ranging options were considered but in the end the simplest and least disruptive one was recommended. I thought the quote for the cost was reasonable and appropriate considering the complexity of the project. The crew (crew chief and two helpers) arrived at 9 am on the agreed upon day and set to work. To minimize disruption to the trees and because of the tight space, the trench along the side of the house was dug by hand (about 50 feet). Our air conditioner and a low brick wall also had to be avoided. The pipes were placed efficiently with a nice layout that brought all three outflows together with a minimum number of angles. In the meantime, the plumber was inside readjusting the pipes. On this particular day, we unfortunately had a 2 inch downpour. The guys worked as long as possible but finally had to stop before they could finish. They tied us back into our old septic system for overnight, so our family was not inconvenienced. The next day, they finished up around 1 pm and had the city inspector review their work. I met him as well and he told me that this particular company and crew always did a great job. By late afternoon, the trench was filled back in. Noteworthy also was that the crew did not run heavy equipment around our yard unnecessarily. The old septic tank was broken in by hand and filled with gravel using a wheelbarrow. Also, gravel was not dumped in a pile, but accessed from their dump truck as needed through a chute in the back. The crew was fastidious about clean up and the adjacent grass areas were raked to remove debris. We have now been hooked up to city sewer for several weeks and everything is working properly.

Description of Work: Whenever it rains (or when snow melts) the water floods the concrete apron in front of my garage. I needed a french drain installed in front of the apron and the driveway graded back away from the apron. Steve and his crew were on time, did no damage at all to any of my flower beds or the sidewalk they had to tunnel under. They went under the sidewalk to hook my downspout into the french drain to help the drainage even more. When they left, you couldn't even tell they had been there, except that now the driveway is where its supposed to be and theres no standing water, even after the rain the other night. Steve was also kind enough to caulk where my apron meets the house. I didn't have enough material for him to do the whole thing, or he would have. He also found a leak in my NEW outside faucet that was installed last Fall. (Luckily, it only leaks when its turned on.) They were great!

Description of Work: Removed old septic system and connected home to a new sewer system. Excellent and efficient work. Very timely in scheduling and in arriving to do the designated work. They left the worksite in an outstanding condition. Cleanup was complete and the workers were very available to explain what was being done and why it was being done. I would not hesitate to use them again should a need arise. I highly recommend.

Excellent
Description of Work: This team was excellent. They did such a great job, no one would know they were on the property. The office staff was also very useful at this company and they truely help you understand what needs to be done i nstead of just taking your money. The approach they used to solve my problem was very systematic. First I was told to use this one company Indy sewer and drain that is very good at cleaning plugged up drains which was all outside and after that they advised. Since first cleaning the drain was much cheaper and easier option than excavating the outside sewer line. In the end the sewer in the ground was a PVC that was cracked and probably in the ground since the house was built in 1989. The telephone and electric wires were directly on the top where the pipe was cracked. We think that whoever the builder hired to ternch the utility lines when they were building the house nicked the sewer pipe and did not stop to replace it but instead just built over it. No one would have know but i have 2 huge trees in front of the house where the pipe is buried and the tree roots were growing in the pipe that caused the back up of the sewer luckily not in the house.

Wonderful, thorough, complete.
Description of Work: I took 4 bids to repair my sewer line. The bids ranged from Agusta's lowest bidder at $6600 to $15080. Agusta's Steve Lowry, came over as promised and used his TV (color) no less to scope out and inspect every single sewer line that I had including the rain gutter tiles. He and his colleague spent 3 hours doing this and come up with the best and most reasonable price. His crew began on Tuesday morning and had the pipe including the down spout pipes installed and filled by Wednesday evening. Furthermore, the covered the area with rock and cemented the rock on so his asphalt guy could lay the asphalt cover over the part he had to remove to install the new sewer line. He rescoped the line and I saw it was cleaned all the way to the main sewer line on our street. The other three bidders did not use a scope except for the first one and it was used only on the sewer with the back up. They were all guessing at the problem but Steve knew exactly what to do as he had scoped out all the sewer lines in my house. He was thorough, reasonable, prompt, courteous and I would more than recommend him to do any sewer/excavation for one's home/property.

Very well. We will use them again.
Description of Work: This company replaced a buried and clogged downspout drain with better materials. It also replaced a buried and clogged sump pump drain that connected from the house to the storm sewer. The workmen showed up on time and returned calls in a timely fashion. They also nicely repaired the area of lawn that had to be dug up to do the repair. Not part of the job but we appreciated the workmanship!

Description of Work: Investigated source of standing water in yard. Source was found to be secondary to the faulty repair of past rupture of sump pump line. After an area of approximately 4x4 feet was dug for investigation, underground directional boring was used to repair and replace over 50 feet of pipe. There was one week between initial eval and the first dig and 2 weeks between the first dig and the underground boring. The boring was complete in one day. They replaced the dirt at the 4x4 foot site, placed grass seed, and watered before leaving. The cost was our estimate and included all work provided.
