They went out of there way to help us and I would use them again if needed. I have already recommended them to others. Once the work was finished, I could not even tell that they had been in the yard.

+ 0 moreWe went out to bid on sewer work with 3 other Angie's List providers. But Steve did his home work with our City government to locate a lateral coming into my yard from the street where the other quoter's said they would have to bust up the street to attach to the sewer. Steve's crew was on my side; wishing to save me money and all of the 5 guys gave a high 5 when the lateral attachment in my yard was located. His crew worked from 9-5:30 on this job, and left my place cleaner and neater than it was before they came. A point of interest and the finer points of a job. There was dirt in the street from my yard and Steve's men washed it off the street into the drainage ditch. Steve was such a gentleman and so helpful in explaining what he was doing and letting me know he would be here for me if I needed more work done to complete my home repair of the sewer. All of his workers were clean and neat and very polite. He was so good working with his men. Good leadership.
Description of Work: Installed a new drain Pipe out to front yard from the basement and attached to the city sewer main. Performed plumbing work on inside floor drains, sealed off old drains and installed a sump pump to discharge water from washing machine and floor drain up to outside drain.

+ 0 moreThese guys are efficient, knowledgeable, and competent. They cleaned up everything when they were done, even sweeping my driveway. The entire job was done in one day and shortly after they left we had a driving thunderstorm. We had NO standing water anymore! Listen to Steve's advice; he knows his stuff.
Description of Work: This was a project that involved two homes. My neighbor and I had downspouts and sump pumps flooding the yard between our homes, forming a swamp in the low spot. Steve came out, surveyed the situation and proposed a solution for us each to connect our downspout and sump pump lines together, and run underground to a collector box installed in the low area to catch any surface water. Then install a drain line from this connector box out to drain under our street.

+ 0 moreThey were delayed in doing this job due to the wet ground from all of the rain we have had. As soon as the ground dried they came out and put in the drains and buried all of the pipe in our backyard. They did a very good job and did an excellent job of cleaning up and putting down grass seed and straw to repair the yard. During the job they found that part of the work they were planning on doing was not necessary so they told us that they were not going to do that work and they immediately reduced their bill.
Description of Work: They put a drain in our backyard and then connected our downspouts to this pipe and ran it all underground around to the front yard where there is better drainage.

+ -1 moreWhen we called they came out right away to look at the problem, and came back sooner than anticipated to do the work. They were there the next day to do the work. They were very clean and took off shoes in the house or wore covers over there shoes to keep the house clean. We really appreciated that! He was an honest man who did the work as if he was doing it at his own house. He cleaned up very well after they were done. The work was done well.
Description of Work: Installed a new water line from the house to the street. The old one was leaking.

I was told to call back once the yard was marked so they could come out to give the estimate. I did call and then nothing. Then a few days later, Steve unexpectedly showed up to give an estimate. Although he seemed like a very nice man and did a nice job reviewing the problem, I never heard from him again once he left. He said to expect the estimate in the mail, but much to my surprise it never came. I didn't follow-up. I just used another company I had interviewed.

+ -1 moreExcellent experience with this contractor. They returned my call within 1 day, and arranged to come out for an estimate within the week. My original call was to have a drain connected from the sump pump to a beehive drain located at the end of my property, but Steve discovered what appeared to be an existing pipe leading to my house. Once it was determined that we actually did already have this drain, they were able to reconnect it without having to remove a portion of my deck. Very professional.
Description of Work: Located existing underground drain pipe that had been erroneously disconnected from the sump pump by another contractor. Re-routed connection so they would not have to dismantle a wood deck, and re-connected drain pipe.

Description of Work: We had a slow leak in the irrigation system, turning our back yard into a swamp. Steve identified the source and turned it off, so the back yard can recover while we get the permanent fix taken care of, which he also suggested.

The area was left impeccably cleaned. Would I use August Underground again? Absolutely and refer them to friends, neighbors, and family. Thanks Augusta Underground.
Description of Work: I called August Underground because my house is on a cement slab and I needed a sewer clean out installed. Spoke with Cliff and the next day they came out to start work. August Underground pulled my toilet out to locate the main sewer line. The crew dug by hand between the concrete patio and the house to install the clean out.

+ -1 moreThis was our third leak in the 15 years that I have lived here. This was by far our most pleasant repair experience. Steve and his personnel were always on time. Then they did what they were to do and the way they were to do it. Their finished product and the clean up was excellent. It's too bad we couldn't rate them higher than an A, they deserve AAAA.
Description of Work: Our neighbor had a water leak under the street. The leak was located, street was excavated and the leak was repaired. The hole was filled and the street was repaved.

Description of Work: Our porch floor leaked during heavy rainfall. Augusta installed pipe to the downspout and directed the water away from our house. We had this done on two different corners at two different times.

+ -1 moreThey were very polite and understanding of my problem. He assured me he would make every attempt to get this taken care of that day as he knew rains were forecasted the following day. I was at work when they arrived, but my neighbor came over and showed them the hole and explained what had happened, and they went about fixing the problem. They put extra sand underneath the repair section as the ground was wet from the leakage caused by the break. They put some cement over the repair area to strengthen the patch work. I cannot say enough about their professionalism and the fact they placed a high sense of urgency to my problem. I can absolutely recommend them to anyone. I felt the price I paid was reasonable as he could have charged me a lot more, and I was in a position where I would have had to pay it to prevent possible water damage to my finished basement.
Description of Work: We were having a tree installed and the nursery used a power auger to dig the hole. They cut into my sump pump draining line with the auger and ripped up a 4-5 foot section of the draining line. This happened on a Saturday May 6th. I called a company who was referred to me my a neighbor without checking Angie's List. They advised me it was not an emergency as no rain was called for over the weekend and they would be out there on Mon 5/8 to repair it. Mon. came and went without anyone showing up or even calling to advise. Early Tues. morning, I called Augusta Underground and explained my problem. I have a finished basement and rain was called for on Wed. I was in a pickle. The person I talked to said he would check his schedule and would see what he could do. They made it to my house on Tues and not only repaired the break in the drain line but reinforced it with sand and cement. The rains came on Wed and kept up for the next 2 wks. My finished basement was saved from potential damage.

+ -1 moreThey are the only company that would do the work according to code & get a permit for the actual job. The work was fairly good. I did have to make sure they received a permit for the job. As a result of the job my crawl space may have 1 inch of water instead of 9-12 inches of water as before.

+ -1 moreOther companies we consulted wanted to dig a trench and lay tile. That would have made a big mess of much of the yard because it would have required taking a circuitous route through the yard to avoid underground utilities and two big trees. At a price comparable to, or even below that of other companies, Augusta bored a hole underground (and under the trees)directly from the sump pump to the suggested drainage area where they installed a nice, neat and inconspicuous outlet. To do the work, they had to remove a section of fence, which they carefully replaced upon completion of the job. No mess. No fuss. And the total job took only about three hours.
Description of Work: The original sump pump in our 30-year-old house was hooked up to the sewer. That arrangement no longer meets code, so a new sump pump necessitated finding some way to take water from the sump pump to a natural drainage area at the edge of our property. Augusta Underground provided the best solution. The actually work got rescheduled several times because of weather, road work in our area that prevented access to our property and a higher-priority emergency job, but the company always returned our calls promptly and/or called us so we always knew what was going on.

Cliff immediately called the city to have my property located and explained the process. Steve stopped by twice to give his opinion and estimate on a peculiar sewer problem. These guys are professional and very responsive. I recommend contacting Augusta Underground for excavating work. They will give you an honest assessment of the work to be done.

+ -1 moreI WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEM. THEY GUARANTEED THAT MY YARD WOULD LOOK BETTER WHEN THEY WERE DONE THAN BEFORE THE JOB. THEY TOTALLY STOOD BY THAT AND EVEN CAME BACK SIX MONTHS LATER TO MAKE IT LOOK EVEN BETTER. THEY HAD TO BRING A BACK HOE IN TO GET TO THE SEWER LINE, AND THE MAN WAS WORRIED ABOUT DAMAGING A COUPLE OF SHRUBS. I DIDN'T LIKE THOSE SHRUBS ANYWAY SO HE OFFERED TO REMOVE THEM FOR ME. THEY ALSO CAME OUT ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON TO CLEAN UP THE YARD, AND IT WAS THE OWNER HIMSELF. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW GOOD I FEEL THIS COMPANY IS.
