The job was completed in just one day and was very professionally handled. I would give this company the highest recommendation and would not hesitate to use them again. They are real pros.
Description of Work: A 67 foot trench was dug by hand from a corner of our house to a retention pond in order to prevent water entering our basement due to a crushed drain. Augusta Underground installed crush resistant smooth wall sewer pipe, backfilled the trench and replaced the sod that had been set aside. They also installed heavy stones at the end of the drain.

We have several downspouts that connect to underground pipes that were clogged and backing up. Steve, the owner, and Brian ran their camera through each of the 5 underground pipes. They found the obstruction and dug down to reveal problems with the pipes, and discovered a bad underground collection system. A couple of days later they emailed a contract/quote. Brian and Joel arrived on the scheduled day and finished in one day. They put in a full day's work, and stayed late to finish and did a great job. To avoid tearing up the yard with the backhoe they placed plywood sheets on the grass. They cleaned up all the excavated dirt and rock and hauled it away in the truck. I think they did a really nice job with this project, and I would recommend Augusta Underground to others.
Description of Work: Brian and Joel dug trenches and placed a number of new underground drainpipes that connect to our house's downspouts. They ran the new pipes to a new 7-foot deep drywell they created to collect and disperse the rainwater.

I called them to evaluate a very wet spot in my yard. I thought I needed a French drain. They showed up on time early Saturday morning. They found the problem was an irrigation leak. They were very through and stayed over an hour. I offered to pay them for their time and trouble but they refused. I work definitely use them for any problems in the future. Excellent!

The only slight set-back was the need to reschedule our original appointment. Because a job ahead of mine took longer, my appointment was scheduled the following day. The only concern I have on the rescheduling was that I would have liked to have been notified earlier in the afternoon that I would need to be rescheduled for another time.
Description of Work: Steve was great to work with. He was very open to answer questions, explain options and pricing and willing to accommodate my requested timeline for repair. The guys doing the work seemed knowledgeable, stayed on task, and completed the work satisfactorily.

Everyone at Augusta Underground were great to work with. They were the only company that checked for underground services, i.e. water, gas, etc, when doing the estimate. Once I decided to have them do the work, the project promptly moved forward. The project date was set and they arrived when they said they would. Fortunately, there were no problems with the weather. When the boring machine was setup, they put plywood down on the yard since the tracks tend to tear into the ground. They did the same when moving the boring machine back to the transport trailer. Augusta was the only company that quoted putting the lift station in the existing septic tank. The lift station is about 30" in diameter and 8 feet tall. it had to be buried so only about 8 or 9 inches is exposed above ground. The hole for the lift station needs to be large enough so that gravel and concrete can be put around it per the manufacturer's instructions. Using the septic tank for the lift station greatly reduced the about of digging in the yard since the septic has to be opened and filled. I was very pleased with the way the project site was left and, after several days of hard rain, they came back to level the area some more. Before retiring, I was a facility engineer and am familiar with this type of project. I think Augusta Underground did a quality job and I am very pleased I chose them.
Description of Work: Augusta did our hook up to the city sewer. Bored 270 feet under driveway and heavily wooded areas and pulling approximately 290 feet of 1-1/4"pipe with locate wire. Excavated final 14 feet to get the 1-1/4"pipe to the lift station Installed E/One lift station provided by city. After septic tanked was pumped out, top and bottom were broken out and the lift station was put in the tank. Gravel and cement were put around the lift station per manufacturer instructions. This minimized damage to our yard. Control panel for lift station was mounted on house and all electrical connections were made. Connected existing house waste to the lift station. Connected a forced 2" pipe from bathroom in the basement to waste pipe from house. Made connection to city sewer. Made sure system was operating correctly. Waste pipe from house ran under a sidewalk. Cut the sidewalk and lifted sections to do the work and then replaced the sections. Reduced cost by doing it this way and preserved the special finish on the sidewalk. Extended 2 down spouts into yard ending in a 12'x 12'collector box. Left area where work was done in a manageable condition.

It went without a hitch. The had a boring machine that drilled several feet underground. He directed the drill toward the point where they would connect the sump line to the new drain line. It went from the street, under the garage and almost as if there was a bullseye, brought up the drill to the point of connection. Amazing! From there, they attached the PVC pipe to the boring bit and pulled the new drain line back out to the street where they connected the line to the storm drain. So efficient and not one problem encountered.
Description of Work: The city told us we had to disconnect our sump pump drainage from the city sewer because of overload. We complied. All of the sump water was directed to an area to the side of our house and then ultimately to the street gutter. It stayed wet constantly and resulted in erosion of the cement and asphalt. Agusta Underground came out and assessed the situation and felt it could be fixed. They were professional and it was clear from their explanation that they knew exactly what to do and had the experience to back it up. Through and amazing process, the water was redirected to the storm drain and when they left, it was difficult to tell they were even here. The next day, the gutter was dry and has stayed dry ever since. We were so impressed with their knowledge and their plan to correct our problem. I would recommend them to anyone, anytime.

They did an excellent job in fillng in an inground swimming pool: breaking up steel sidewalls, concrete bottom and surrounding pad, filling with sand/topsoil and leveling surrounding area. Very punctual. Even though task took longer and required more fill dirt than anticipated, there were no additional charges. Crew worked over the weekend to finish the job. Area was left very next and clean.

Just completed but grading of the yard looks great. Augusta was very clear when providing estimates that costs and work needed could be altered - depending on findings - once digging started. We clearly had the option to pay as we went and make decisions on further work ongoing. Project was 3 days of work - which had to be spread over 2.5 months due to all the rain this spring - took longer than we'd hoped but the fault of mother nature - Augusta was very clear on the conditions/dry out that needed to occur for the jobs to be completed. Augusta also regraded the adjacent drainage ditch which was affected. Day 1- pumped water table buildup and dug out part of outbuilding Day 2 - finished pulling out old building, hauled out debris piles. Day 3 - filled resulting hole, graded affected part of back yard - including runoff ditch, and seeded The workers were very professional, friendly, and hardworking. Only recommendation is that getting someone on phone for scheduling could take a couple days of phone tag.
Description of Work: An old farm outbuilding was buried in our yard and causing yard sinkage and underground water table erosion. Affected area was appx 20x45 Ft. Augusta excavated the materials, filled the hole, re-graded yard and seeded.

This is the only company I spoke to who seemed to understand and respect my concern about the tree roots. When I requested that any damaged roots be trimmed if they get damaged, which is the recommended practice, the estimator assured me that not only would they trim them, but they would endeavor to work around the big roots. Major digging beside a large tree can actually cause the tree to blow over in a windstorm in a year or so, as there is nothing to support it on one side. All the other contractors were dismissive to downright insulting about my concern. I haven't yet decided what to do about my project, but this outfit has my vote on this account alone.

We have had very low water pressure in our house and suspected a leak in the water line somewhere from the house to the main. Before coming out to provide a bid, they had all of the underground utilities marked. They spent about an hour investigating what might be causing the issue and discussing various options. Not only were they thorough in the bid process, they were also very competitively priced. The same person who provided the bid also led the project. The team arrived on time the day of the job, kept us informed with what they were finding and the repairs made, and left our yard and sidewalk clean. Overall, excellent experience and we would definitely use them again!

August did a superb job. We had previous experience with them, as they had connected another home of ours to city water, so we knew they knew what they were doing (13 yrs experience). The first thing that occurred was that Steve, (the owner, I think) came to our home to survey the layout and get a sense of the scope of work. Steve is great – very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Steve then provided us with an estimate a day or so later and said that if we had other quotes which were within $100 or so, he could probably match pricing. After scheduling the service for a week or so later, Augusta’s team arrived promptly and began work. Brian, the crew chief, was also good to work with and answered every question I had, assuring me the job was proceeding smoothly. They were very good about taking their shoes off in the house and cleaning up after themselves (they needed to get in the crawlspace). All in all, the job went flawlessly. I would not hesitate to use them again and will confidently recommend them to anyone requiring this type of work.
Description of Work: Augusta Underground performed the service of connecting our residence to city water (we were on a well previously). The job entailed directional boring from the street, where the Hamilton County water main line was located, to where our water supply lines enter out house. They also disconnected and removed our water softener, and ran some extra piping so that one of our outside spigots would remain connected to our well, as we desired.

Our main sewer line backed up on a holiday weekend. This rendered every single drain in the house unusable - no plumbing whatsoever until it was fixed. We called another company who sent out their drain-cleaning crew - they charged us $250 for 10 minutes of work to run a rooter about 8 ft into the sewer and tell us it was broken and would require a different crew to come on another day to do extensive work. That company sent out another crew a few days later (after the holiday) to tell us the job would require excavating along the entire side of the house (a very long, narrow lot) out to the street in order to lay a new sewer line for the house, destroying every inch of landscaping along the way and killing a 100+ year old tree in the process. Their bid ranged from $5000-$8000 (depending on the extent of the work required once the job began). A second company said basically the same thing and their bid ranged from $8000-$10,000. At the recommendation of our plumber, we called Augusta Underground. Augusta ran a rooter and a camera and agreed that the line was broken under the house. But rather than leave it at that, Steve proceeded to climb into the crawl space and see if he could access the line anywhere else and bypass the break. His initial bid came in somewhere in the middle but close to the first company's bid of about $5000. (I apologize, I don't have those notes anymore). What impressed us from the start was their attitude. The other two companies had all been quite eager to write off the whole situation and tell us the entire line had to be replaced. Steve from Augusta had a much more conservative approach, so he got the job. We agreed that the plan was to excavate one small area on the side of the house to try to locate the sewer line. Assuming we found it there, he'd break into it and run the camera from there to inspect the condition of the line past the confirmed break. Assuming it was in good shape, we would replumb the interior of the house and tie into the existing line there, bypassing the known break. This approach, if successful, would save all the landscaping except for one plant, save the 100+ year old tree, and save us from spending thousands on a completely new line. Steve and his crew showed up around 8am on Friday morning. They scraped away the mulch from the 6'x6' area that was to be excavated so that the mulch could be replaced at the end of the day. They dug up a hydrangea from nearby (to save it from being damaged by the backhoe) and placed it into a large pot I had prepared. They took steps to protect the cement from being damaged by the heavy equipment. Only then did they begin digging with the backhoe. They quickly located the existing sewer line. They tapped into it and attempted to run the camera down it, only to find it was completely full of roots and completely dry - no bits of toilet paper or other "material" - it had obviously been abandoned decades ago. That's when the real investigation began. Steve worked tirelessly to try to locate our actual sewer line. He even called in a contact at the city wastewater dept who came out to the house with a schematic of the city sewer main and all existing tie-ins. As far as the city knew, our property's only connection point with the city sewer main was the very line that we had just determined hadn't been in use for decades. At this point, since we now knew that line was useless, we did not have to excavate any further on that side of the house. Steve's crew backfilled the hole, repaired the buried gutter downspout they had had to break through, replanted the hydrangea they had had to move, replaced all the mulch they had moved away before starting, and watered my hydrangea to help it survive the temporary transplant. Steve was determined to find our actual sewer connection in order to save us from having to lay an entire new line if at all possible. He was also determined to have us reconnected by the end of the day, as we had now been without indoor plumbing for almost a week. The break in the known line prevented him from running any equipment down the line to locate its position and tie-in. He decided to investigate the floor drain in the basement and see if it was connected to anything and where it drained. He had one guy go down the street and pop the manhole cover, then he ran dye down the basement floor drain. The guy posted at the manhole confirmed he saw the dye running down the city sewer main, so now we had confirmation that the floor drain connected to the city sewer main AND that it was not affected by the break in our line. Next Steve ran the camera down the basement floor drain all the way out to the street. (Interestingly we discovered it was a dedicated line - our sewer line didn't connect to it at all - it was just a direct line from the floor drain to the city main.) Once we determined the line was in good condition and ran to the city sewer main, we decided the best course of action would be to replumb the interior so that all the drains in the house connected to the line draining from the floor of the basement and out into the city sewer main. Augusta jackhammered the basement floor around the drain so that the plumber could tie in the new plumbing. (Augusta does not do interior plumbing.) Steve waited until the plumber was finished connecting to the line - only a short section of it could be reached from the inside, and if the plumber had not been able to connect there, more excavation would have been required (on the other side of the house from the original excavation) in order to connect to the existing floor drain line outside. He and the plumber worked side by side to determine the best method of connection and to make sure everything was connected and working again before leaving. Steve did not leave our house until after 8pm, and this was on a Friday night - he worked for 12 hours straight to make sure we got reconnected. At this point, I was so grateful to have working plumbing again that I would have gladly paid anything he asked. So imagine my shock - disbelief - surprise - astonishment - THRILL! when we received Augusta's bill a few days later. Final charge was $1475.00!! Well below all estimates, even their own!! (In the interest of full disclosure, we still had a bill of similar size on top of that from the plumber for his work replumbing the interior - remember, Augusta only does exterior work, so their bill was only for the excavation, investigation and jackhammering.) Steve's determination and conservative approach saved us at least a thousand dollars. He said repeatedly during the job that he was working on it as if it were his own house, and I truly believe him. He and his crew were extremely conscientious - careful to keep our floors clean on the inside, and looking at the garden at the end of the day, you would have NO idea that a giant hole had been dug right there. My neighbors were all extremely impressed as well. I have repeatedly recommended Augusta Underground to friends, and I guarantee you that I will call them first if I ever need their type of services again. I would gladly hire them again. Well done, Augusta. I wish more businesses demonstrated your level of commitment to a job well done.
Description of Work: Tried to clean out sewer line, discovered a break under the house. Excavated to locate the sewer lateral, found it and used sewer camera to determine it had been abandoned decades ago. Backfilled the excavated area. Worked all day to investigate location of our actual sewer lateral, jackhammered basement floor to investigate the floor drain line, used dye to confirm it runs to the sewer main, ran the camera to check the condition of that line and to locate its entire length out to the street.

Before arriving for the estimate, they surveyed the area and marked all power lines and sewer lines. When they arrived to provide a free estimate, they actually ran a camera down the sewer line to show me what issues it was having. They then took thorough measurements, and called me with an estimate a few days later. Their bid was well below two other companies I had contacted. The day of the work, they ran into a little issue but did not leave us without a sewer overnight. The project was complete by 1pm the second day. They really made sure that we weren't inconvenienced, and left our yard in as good of shape as possible. Also, they had to remove a fence, and were very responsible with that regard. This is a very professional company, and I highly recommend them to others. After the snow left, and we were able to see the ground, we found a few spots that were uneven and did not look very good. I called them and asked if they could come back out and fixed the ground for us. They came out immediately. They did this for me and did a great job. They did more than what I asked them to do. They did the job beyond what I ever expected. I could not have asked for anymore than they did for me.

I thought the price was extremely expensive or what they did. The man that performed the work was very nice. I did not see him complete the job, as I stood there and watched most of it. The ground is sinking and I am not sure if it is fixed properly. I question the work. I did not see him join the pipes. I asked if he did and he said yes, as he covered the dirt. He was having trouble with it but I walked away and never saw if he truly connected the pipe. They had good customer service over the phone. I think they came over because they are located on this side of town.
