I appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of everyone I've ever had contact with from Augusta, from Heather who takes my calls to Steve who does my quotes to the hardworking men who show up on time and do the work as described.
Description of Work: Multiple jobs over the past five years including installation of drainage pipe from downspouts to the curb (carefully running the pipe under the sidewalk without damage), removal of large concrete patio and front porch, installation of pump for watering horses.

We had a belly in our 1961 sewer line caused mostly by poorly installed base and a nearby tree root pressing down. To complicate matters, the affected area was beneath our front pebble stone porch. Other estimates/businesses were going to have to demolish porch to get to the sewer line belly, but Augusta stated they would take great care to limit the damage as much as possible. It was a two day project, and they fully explained what they intended to do and when we could expect an interruption in water service. During the project, they discovered that the belly extended farther than anticipated (almost double the length) because of the fall of my front yard, but Augusta did not charge for the extra needed time nor materials. They used a truckload of gravel to build a better base and compact the area. They replaced the pebble stone that they had meticulously sawed out, and the only evidence are the two diagonal cut lines. The porch is level and secure. Due to their care, we can take our time and replace on our schedule. Once the project was complete, they cleaned up beautifully. Although I would hire them again without hesitation, my belief is that their work will prevent me from having to.
Description of Work: Repaired sewer line belly.

I can't say enough positive things about Augusta personnel and their service. Heather was very helpful on the phone in arranging an estimate visit, scheduling repair, and explaining/answering my questions. Steve came to the house promptly and was on time for my estimate. He was honest about all the work that would be done and explained things in a manner that I understood. The estimate was very reasonable compared to others I received. Augusta personnel understood my distress regarding the situation and quickly scheduled a time to get the work done. The crew worked diligently on the project and cleaned up afterwards. They came back several days later to smooth out the dirt so it was more flush with the rest of the yard. This is the third job Augusta has done for me in the past 18 months and it is the type of service I've received every time. I wish I had this experience with all companies I work with. I would definitely use them again, if needed. I'm just hoping that I don't need to call them!
Description of Work: I had a busted water main pipe into the house. Augusta replaced my water line. To do this they had to get special permission from the city to reroute the path of the pipe to preserve an old tree in my yard. They dug a trench followed by a hole and then directional bored underground to the house. They also worked with a tree service that I hired to assist with ensuring the health of the tree.

Our main water line to the house from the meter sprung a leak. They came out under emergency conditions and drilled and laid a new connection. They were top notch, knew what they were doing and got it done. Left a small scar in the yard that was easily seeded over.

During moderate rains, the old dry well trench produced a mini fountain in the yard. Augusta put in a new one that fully met our expectations. A perforated pipe was laid in the trench to evenly distribute the water along the trench. They used a level to assure the water would not collect at either end. The trench was filled in with high quality gravel. The top and sides were covered with a high quality tarp to keep soil from penetrating into the trench. The bottom was left exposed to the ground underneath so allow the water to drain away from the trench.. When they finished the trench, they smoothed the top and seeded the yard over where they had dug. They hauled away all of the excess dirt so we didn't have to deal with it. We are very particular about work done on our property and we cannot find anything negative to say about Augusta Underground Inc.
Description of Work: Installed a new dry well trench for sump pump drain. The trench was 2' wide, 4' deep and about 20' long.

They showed up right on time, reviewed what they had planned to do, and my concerns/expectations. They jumped right in found the damaged drain line and a LARGE void under my foundation where this water had been undermining my foundation. They cleaned up that void and put at least 10 bags of concrete mix to infill, which was not part of the original plan, and only charged me for the concrete. They went above and beyond cleaning up the all of the dirt and mess. They even cleaned up a portion of my leaves from the front yard while they were cleaning up their work. I could not be more pleased with the results or the workmanship and professionalism. Each of the guys on site were courteous and friendly, but stayed on task even as I nosed around to see what was going on. I will recommend them without hesitation!
Description of Work: Replaced all my existing underground downspout drains with solid PVC pipes to prevent future roots from entering pipes. Located the reason for water in my crawlspace. Another contractor had put a water service in the house, before I bought it, and they had damaged the "french" drain at the front of the house that collected all of the water and redirected it around the house. The other contractor barely repaired that line, so when that drain became clogged over the years, it backed up right there and went straight into my crawlspace. Over the years I had tried to install drain lines from all of my downspouts, but will limited success in reducing the water infiltration.

Great. Steve Lowery spent at least 5 hours inspecting and locating the leaks. The 48 year old home had a sewer leak plus exterior water leaking into the basement. Steve looked into every possibility and came up with a solution. The company was prompt, courteous, & cleaned up well.

I was very impressed with AU from start to finish. The price was competitive, everyone was very professional, and the work was done quickly and competently. They completed our work in one day beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending around 4:30 p.m. The work at other houses in our neighborhood seemed to take several days. I also noticed at other houses that when the dirt was put back in the trench that there were sizable mounds left. The covered trench that AU left is very neat and level. Not completely flat, but will certainly be after the dirt settles. They did a fabulous job.

We were so disappointed after having just moved into our house to end up with a wet basement. I called Augsta to see if improved drainage was a possible alternative to installing a new pricey waterproofing system. They were really great to work with. Steve came out to do the estimate and was really informative and patient with my questions. Really, one of the best experiences I have had with a service provider. They did the work in two days and we haven't had any leakage since (it's been 7 months). My across the street neighbor ended up using him as well, and was also very pleased. Really, one of the best experiences I have had with a service provider.
Description of Work: Tied together downspout drains and extended to property line. Extend sump pump drain to property line and added window well drain to keep water (which was causing basement leakage away from the house.

I was initially hesitant to have them come out due to the $200 cost of running the cameras through the lines, however it was well worth the cost. First of all every person that we spoke to was highly knowledgeable and very helpful in answering all of our questions regarding what, why and how the service would be provided, and also took special care to explain what they thought the root cause of our slow drain was. Instead of recommending cleanouts be installed which is what other contractors were quick to do without inspecting the inside of our lines, they shared with us that the slow drain had to do with the configuration of our plumbing, the distance to the Septic tank and the poor slope of the underground line. They went on to let us know that if we spent money on cleanouts that it would not fix the problem. We really appreciated their honesty, candor and their willingness to share other solutions that we could pursue that would cost less money and would potentially improve the drainage. We'll definitely use them again if we have any type of plumbing needs.

I contacted this company to do something a little bit out of realm of every day pipe installation and they took it upon themselves to provide exactly what I wanted and needed. It was awesome working with a professional team who showed punctuality, professionalism, not to mention very detail oriented. They completed the first part of the job at the beginning of the week exactly as requested then came back as promised at the end of the week to complete the project. It looks great and I appreciate them working with me to get this job done. I'm very pleased and will definitely pass along their information to others as needed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. THANK YOU!

I would give A-plus ratings to Augusta Underground in each category it it were possible. What an outstanding group of professionals--from Steve the CEO to Heather, who manages the telephone and all of the essential paperwork, to the crew members who did all of the work in less than one day--as promised. Steve made a brief call in early August after which he let me know that my house was about three weeks along in the queue. Soon an estimate arrived by email. After my check to the city was filed by Heather to obtain a permit, the excavation was scheduled for one week hence--rain or shine. Three men arrived on time. Subsequently Knox Brothers pumped the septic tank one final time and the crew filled it with gravel. My level lot did not present any problems. By 2 p.m. Augusta's crew had completed the job and were waiting for the city's inspector to certify their work. After the connection was approved, two of the remaining men filled the tidy trench, carefully raking and grading it. I could not have been more pleased. As a longtime homeowner and observer, I have watched all manner of plumbing and earth-moving work being done. Augusta's crew did as efficient (and effective) a job as I've ever seen. Kudos to Steve for running a first-class operation, and to Heather for keeping the office running smoothly.

Brian and his crew showed up right on schedule. My wife had doubts that they could accomplish everything in only two days (ours was a somewhat complex job with two drain lines from our house and an oversized septic tank to deal with, as well as several unmarked lines (e.g., power line to our koi pond). No problem for these guys! They worked very hard and very efficiently the whole time in hot, humid conditions. Brian showed exceptional sensitivity to the fact that our dogs will only do their "duty" off a leash in the back yard. He always tried to secure the back yard for a period of time to allow our dogs to do "their thing". More importantly, these guys were exceptional in their attention to detail on the job. Believe me, I've seen crews from several other companies at work in our neighborhood hooking up others to the new sewers and I wouldn't trade our experience at ANY price for one of those! I can't say enough good things about them - IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS, these are the guys to go with. Don't even consider anyone else!

We were confused at first that he seemed positive about outdoor sump pump installation, then changed his thoughts as we discussed other options that were given to us. In the process, his employee was beginning to draw up plans, but as the conversation proceeded, he backed down and away from the job as a whole stating it was not something his company wanted to take on. That part was confusing, but we appreciated his honesty in not performing a job that his company was not feeling knowledge enough to do.
Description of Work: The provider came to estimate the cost of redirecting water under slab foundation for high water table issues; provider at first suggested outdoor sump pump, then we told them another estimators suggestion and they too saw that as feasible but would not do the work unless it was done around the entire foundation, so he declined professionally to perform the job, nor did we receive an estimate. He was honest in his approach from what we could gather

When we called them requesting an estimate, they were able to come out within a few days. The workman was very considerate, knowledgeable, and friendly. The contract was emailed to us within a reasonable timeframe. It would have been nice if we had received a bit more communication initiated by them - eg, that they received our mailed contract, or that the delay was due to the rain and they hoped to contact us around ___ date, weather permitting. But when we initiated communication they were very clear and answered our questions. This company seemed to be the best value of several other companies we considered; we expect to feel the same way when the work is completed.
Description of Work: Thanks to Mother Nature, I can't yet write a 'completed work' review, because it has rained too much for the work to be done. We have signed a contract to have them connect our neighborhood's new sewer main line to our home.

Steve arrived promptly for the estimate, and I had a good feeling about him right away. He was very professional and friendly. As it turns out, my instinct was right. When he returned with Joel for the "scope" where they were able to videotape a portion of my sewer line to find the problematic areas (massive amounts of roots as it turned out), they guided me through the process every step of the way and answered all of my questions satisfactorily. They both seemed very experienced and knowledgeable, and I really had no doubt that I would choose them over their competitors for the job. I felt that Steve was being completely honest with me (I'm a single female). He was able to schedule the work very quickly I thought, and he and Joel ended up returning on a cold early December day to complete the job. To sum this day up, these two guys worked their butts off from morning until after dark. Their work ethic was amazing. They encountered a couple of "issues" they weren't expecting and proceeded to fix these as well despite this causing them to work very late into the evening. Upon completion of all of the work, they did a wonderful job of cleaning up both inside and out. It was very refreshing to work with a businessman as honest, hardworking, and caring as Steve. I feel very fortunate to have found him. .
