Horrible. It actually was the Sarasota location not Indianapolis. Was scheduled to pack and load on 9/15 and 9/16. I explained we could not accept dellivery intil 9/22 due to the closing. The first driver called and said he would be ready to deliver on 9/19. I explained this was impossible and after quite a while, another driver was assigned. Packing was slow, but when the driver arrived, he and his helper got things moving the. The next day they completed the loading and advised they would see me on 9/22. On that date I went to our new home and found no movers. Made a phone call and when the woman heard my name, she stammered that the driver was suppose to call me and they weren't delivering today. Subsequently I received a phone call from the driver advising he had been told he had to go to St. Louis and Chicago before our delivery and would not be to Noblesille until 9/23--8 days after the scheduled delivery. I started making phone calls and was told Atlas (Atlantic Relocaation) had a delivery window and they were in their window. Only problem, no one had ever mentioned this delivery window to me. I texted the sales rep I had dealt with and a day later she responded saying she was astounded and couldn't believe what was happening. Asked her to provide an update by the end of the day and she said she would. 4 days later I am still waiting. It is now Tuesday evening and I have no idea if they will deliver Friday as no one seemed certain. If they make it on Friday, it means they will have taken two weeks to make a delivery 2 days away. Meanwhile, we are stuck with no home, having to rent temporary housing and eating all eals in reastaurants. Not to mention, it has turned colder and we have no clothes for the weather. Oh yes, I should mention the critical medicine I ran out of 2 days ago and have not been able to refill. I have moved 14 or 15 times the last 30 years and have never encountered such an unprofessional organization. Waiting for the dust to settle to start legal action.

Horrible. After issues with the scheduling of the delivery, several people got involved and we firmed up the schedule on a conference call. Delivery day arrives and no truck. Call Atlantic and "oh, the truck won't be there today. Didn't anyone call you? I'll have someone call you shortly." An hour later the driver calls me (the only good thing about this company who absolutely had nothing to do with this fiasco). Tells me it will be 2 weeks before he can make it back. Phone calls did nothing to change the situation nor would ATlantic reimburse us stranding us in a new city with very few personal belongings. Spent 35 years in the trucking industry is upper management and never would have tolerated any of my employees failure to do their jobs as this was.

Horrible. They initially tried to schedule delivery before the closing even though they had been made aware of the dates. They then changed the date of pickup and delivery. Packing crew seemed to run out of gas around lunch time but the driver came by early and he and his helper were the only good part of this organization. We drove from Florida to Indy and on the agreed date of delivery went to the house and waited and waited and waited.............. Finally called Atlantic and was asked "Didn't the driver call you?" I spent 35 years in upper management of the trucking industry and it is a common ploy to try and pin it on the driver that no reputable company would use. To make a long story short, our furniture, clothes, etc. arrived 1 week later. Spoke to the person that had finalized the delivery date and she was "stunned" (her words). No offer of compensation from Atlas or Atlantic for reimbursement of food or lodging for the week we were stranded. If you value your sanity, do not use ATLAS or ATLANTIC RELOCATION. Their total lack of professionalism was incomprehensible.

We were told to expect 4 guys to move all our things and that it would take 8 hours in one truck. They called the day before to schedule their arrival between 8 and 10 am. No one showed up until 10:45am and they sent 2 ladies along with 2 men. One of the ladies was brand new as was one of the men. The supervisor a, nice lady named Kim, was not aware they were to move the whole house. She only expected to be moving some pieces from the upstairs to the down stairs. They were in a small box truck instead of a large moving van. She assured us everything would be moved that day, but expected it to take two trips. They did a nice job wrapping and preparing things to move, and the first load went fairly quick. But by the 2nd load things were slowing down. The two new people were obviously not prepared as the man complained the whole time about how hard it was to do this type of work. The man who seemed knowledgeable about the work kept trying to explain how to do things. He was patient and friendly, but had to spend a great deal of time doing things alone. At one point a heavy piece of our equipment fell on him. He brushed it off, but I was concerned he was injured. Had the new guy been where he was suppose to be it would not have happened. The one new gal ran out of steam about mid day and just wandered around trying to find things she could manage to lift. The crew worked hard to finish the job, but it was bigger than they could reasonably handle. We had too many heavy things for the 2 ladies to be able to manage. The poor fellas had to lift most everything and they were understandably overwrought. We expected to write the check in payment when they arrived but were told to wait until they finished. Then at 7:30 that night when they finally finished unloading, we were told an adjustment would be made on the bill because the order said they would be moving 5 beds but they only moved 2. She also said she didn't want to take such a large payment in their drop box over the holiday weekend. We tipped all the workers because we felt they had worked hard, but they were sent to do a job beyond what they could handle. On Monday they left a message wanting payment stating that it was suppose to have been made before the move. Odd they didn't say that last week before someone showed up? We are currently waiting to hear if there is an adjustment on the price and will pay what is owed. Overall the experience was not pleasant. We have moved before with other companies and have had no problems. I would not recommend this company. The workers were nice, but not right for this job.
Description of Work: We called them to give an estimate to move entire household goods including furniture and some appliances. We only were moving about 6 miles from a 2 story home into a ranch. They arrived quickly to give an estimate and provided it all in writing. The actual move date on 7///2015 did not go well.

Description of Work: This moving company was simply a three man wrecking crew, rushing through the move and destroying our furniture and other possessions. They did show up on time, and that is the best thing I can say about them. They rushed through the loading and unloading as if they had a firm deadline. It was obvious that all they wanted was to finish. They did hundreds of dollars of damage to our dining room furniture alone, not to mention all the other damaged and broken possessions. They damaged the walls in our new house, punched a hole in a door in the house we were moving out of, and just deposited boxes wherever, no matter what room they should have been in. Take my advice and run, don't walk, away from this company. After all the damage, the company refused to pay even a fraction of the cost of repairs.

Description of Work: pack, load and storage of our household goods. Our stuff will be in storage for a few months, so we will have to assess the final result when our items are delivered. PODS subcontracted with Atlantic Relocation Services to provide unloading services for 2 large PODS containers at our new home. The contracted price for 3 laborers was $729 for 4 hours and $126 per hour for each additional hour over the 4. The crew showed up promptly at 9 a.m. as promised and had me take them through the house to show them the rooms where things would go. We had moved to the area approximately 7 months ago and had most of our things in storage and lived in an apartment while our house was being built. So, we had items that were necessary to live in the apartment. As I walked the crew through the house, it was clear to them that there were large furniture items that were not being unloaded from the PODS (i.e. bedroom furniture, living room, etc). It was at that point the guy asked where that furniture was at and I explained that we had been living in an apartment and that furniture was currently being packed up by another moving company to be brought over. At that time, he started questioning why I wasn't having them do that work as well. The answer is because I didn't know they could do that work. I spoke with PODS who connected me with the moving services. I told them what I needed and they only offered the unloading services (although I mentioned that I had stuff in an apartment as well). So, the crew seemed irritated about not having the opportunity to do the 'extra' work. They then started to unload the first POD. Unfortunately, many of the boxes that my husband packed were either not labeled or labeled incorrectly so they had to stop and ask where each box went. This was fine as I was able to be right there as they came in and direct them without any problem. However, what was irritating was the 'small talk'. Considering I am paying you by the hour, I don't have time to have a conversation with you. After about 2 1/2 hours of work, they decided to break for lunch. The 3 man crew left in the car that one of the workers drove for lunch at 12:09 p.m. (I actually knew the time because I had been texting my husband to see how loading at the apartment was going and had texted him when they left for lunch). They didn't get back until 1:18 p.m. The movers from the apartment actually got to the house a little after 1 p.m. and immediately started unloading the truck. The crew seemed very irritated that another crew was at the house. Given the timing that it took to unload the remaining items from the last POD, if they hadn't taken over an hour for lunch, they would have been finishing up when the next crew arrived...AND they knew the other crew would be coming with the furniture from the apartment. What was frustrating is they started going slower after lunch compared to before lunch AND they talked more... Again, when I am paying you by the hour, milking the clock is not helpful or desired. They finally got the last piece of furniture in the house and were getting ready to tackle the boxes they had already moved into the garage when my husband stopped them because they were already a half hour over time and with the speed they were going, we could move the boxes quicker ourselves. Another thing that we found interesting was the time they tried to take off their bill for lunch. The crew leader documented taking 30 minutes for lunch when they clearly took over an hour (as documented by my texts to my husband). The crew leader did adjust it without too much of a fuss, but when you are paying $126/hr, professionalism and accuracy are paramount. The final straw with this experience is the fact that one of the workers tracked mud all over our brand new living room carpet. I worked hard to personally protect the flooring and with the recent snow melting, I completely understand not being able to keep all the elements out, but this worker actually walked on the living room carpet to put his tool bag down (he wasn't moving ANYthing into that room as nothing was going into it and I didn't put carpet protectors on that area because we knew nothing was going in there). Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. Never again!

The move was from indianapolis to atlanta. The move went very well without any hitch. We neither lost items nor were any items damaged. We did most of the packing ourselves. Atlantic relocations had to pack only a few wall hangings, tv, mirror and furniture. The load and unload at destination were done at the given dates. Would definitely recommend them!

I had a very difficult experience with Atlantic Relocation Systems. What began as a nice relationship quickly turned sour over a three month period. I began receiving moving quotes in March for my move that was just over 1,000 miles. I liked the agent that came to my house to provide an estimate and Atlantic Relocation seemed to have the ?least bad? comments written about them on various internet rating websites. I sent her over the signed documentation at the end of March and thought everything was pretty much done with until our moving date at the end of June. At the end of April she notified me that the price had risen, which came as a shock to me because I am certain she told me when I sent her the signed documentation a month earlier that I had locked in the price. The price she quoted me at the end of April was somewhere between $4,300 and $4,600 (I don?t recall the exact number, it was communicated to me verbally). The original price was $3,949. When I asked her why it had risen she said ?that?s capitalism.? When I told her that we had a signed agreement she told me that the price can still rise but that she will discuss this with her manager because she was selling me the move with the AAA discount. Which was accurate, I was getting a discount from my AAA membership. After discussing this with her manager over the next 24 hrs she got back to me with a new quote of $3,982, so approximately a $33 increase over the original price. While the less than 1% increase didn?t really bother me, in retrospect, I really should have viewed this as a bad omen of things to come. On moving day, June 25th, the movers were supposed to show up between 8 am and 10 am. This was not an estimate, it is what I was told the night before our moving day by another representative that had been my primary contact with the company. The representative said they are typically there by 9 am. The 9 am comment was an estimate, the 8 ? 10 am comment was not. The representative also communicated the 8 -10 am window a couple of weeks prior to this via email. At 10 am on moving day there was still no sign of the truck. I called the representative and she said she would look into it and get back to me asap. I received a call back from her in roughly 20 minutes. She claimed that the truck had broken down on the way to our house and that they were sending another truck out and it would be there in approximately one hour. At first when I heard this I was upset, we had a long drive ahead of us and had planned on being on the road by 1 pm. With the movers not supposed to be getting to our house now until roughly 11:30 am I knew this would be virtually impossible. At 11:30 am there was still no sign of the truck and I began to sense that maybe they were not being completely truthful with me. I called the representative again and she said she would call me back and let me know. She ended up calling me back and putting me through with someone in operations. When I asked the gentleman why the truck was not at our house he said that the original one broke down on the road and that my primary contact over there never should have told me a new one would be there in an hour, that a new one had never been sent out. The conversation grew rather contentious at that point and he seemed to take offense with my anger. He asked me if I still wanted the company to send a truck out (in a tone suggesting that he was doing us a favor or something and he didn't actually have to). I told him that we still wanted him to send a truck out asap. To his credit, he called me back about 30 minutes later and said they had a truck coming out and would be there in an hour. It was about 12 pm at that point so we were expecting it to get there around 1 pm. The truck showed up a couple of minutes after 2 pm. The moving crew consisted of four gentlemen who were all very professional and did a great job getting all of our items into the truck and wrapping certain items (the more fragile ones) in blankets. I have no complaints regarding the crew at all. However, I did find it interesting that the leader of the crew said that Atlantic Relocation originally gave him the wrong address (one in Carmel, IN, about 30 minutes away from our home on the west side of Indianapolis) and that?s why they were late getting there. We had a delivery spread which ran from June 30 to the middle of July. There was some communication that had taken place via email. On June 27th I reached out to our primary representative via email (after my voicemail to her after the movers left on June 25th had never been returned) and she told me it was tentative but it looked like our delivery date would be July 2nd. The fact that it was still tentative at that point was fine, we were told that we would not know for certain until 48 hrs before, she had mentioned this multiple times. She said the driverwould call us and let us know when they would be there and it couldn?t be less than 48 hrs notice. On July 1st, I received a voicemail from her stating that the driver would be there the following day between 8 am and 10 am. This lack of 48 hrs notice really didn?t adversely affect our schedule so much but it was just the continuation of poor communication from them that bothered me. I called her back shortly after and she asked for me to make payment and I asked her what kind of discount we would be receiving for having to deal with all of this (primarily the truck being extremely late to pick us up). She told me that we would not be receiving any discount as they showed up that day. I mentioned that they showed up four hours late and she didn?t seem to think that should matter. She didn?t even offer an apology, in fact, nobody from the company ever offered an apology. I then asked to speak with the manager there and she said he was in a meeting but she would have him call me back. I received a call back from the manager in about an hour. When I went over everything that went wrong he just attempted to discount everything I had just said as if I had no idea what I was talking about. He said we should have been happy that they moved us out on the actual move date and that they were delivering us in the early part of our spread. He also said they were not obligated to pick us up between 8 am and 10 am, a clear contradiction to what two other representatives of the company had told us. Also, when I asked him about why the truck was late he stated that it was having mechanical issues and never left their location that morning. This is where things really got interesting. The two other representatives I was in contact with on the day of the pickup both said that the truck broke down while on the way to our house. Now here was there manager stating that the truck never left the location of their business at all. I knew this didn?t smell right and there was something they were not being clear about. When I told him that?s not what the other representatives told me on our moving day, he said ?Are you calling me a liar?? At this point I quickly realized that I was not having a discussion with a very mature or professional individual. I was absolutely dumbfounded by his audacious behavior. To think that a manager (someone I perceived as being ?higher up? within the organization) would speak to me like this was shocking. I told him that I was very dissatisfied with the service I received from his company and that I would never deal with them again and to put me through to the other representative so I could make payment and be done with this horrible experience. Now, I understand that trucks breakdown at times. I will admit that I was skeptical at first when my primary contact at Atlantic Relocation told me this on our moving day, especially after all of the horror stories I had read about moving company experiences. However, the fact that it broke down (according to the two representatives I spoke with that day) and there was not a viable contingency plan in place really made me even more skeptical about what they were telling me. After I was told by the manager at the company six days later that the truck never left their place of business (inconsistent with the prior story of it breaking down on the way to my house) I knew I was being lied to. My guess is that they overbooked and because we were a smaller load (around a 1300 sq ft home) we were just simply bumped to later in the day and this was never communicated to us My suggestion is to be very careful when dealing with moving companies, this one in particular. I would actually avoid moving companies if at all possible as I simply don?t think they are worth the trouble. Many times these companies will underestimate your moving cost to get you to sign on with them and then notify you of the increase in price much closer to the moving date when it?s really too late to make any changes. The real problem is at the end of the day they really hold all of the leverage as they have all of your valuables. If there is any sort of disagreement they can simply refuse to deliver. It is scary, but in reality that?s how it works. Now I?m sure you could threaten them with litigation but how practical of an option is that? You really just want your stuff and to move on in your new location and they are very aware of that. On the dropoff day (July 2nd) everything went well. Two gentlemen showed up and were very nice and hard-working and I had no complaints with them at all.

The moving team that packed and moved our furniture to the storage facilities were rally great - The A team. The furniture and all other items were stored in multiple wooden crates. The warehouse workers didn't pack the creates as carefully as they could have, which resulted in some items being damaged. Overall, the damage was minor when you consider the total items stored. The moving team bring the furniture from storage to out new home were good but I would classify them as a B team.

Description of Work: I had an awesome experience with Atlantic Relocation - professionall all they way - from the initial appoinment made on the phone, e-mail confirmation and then their proposal. It was a fixed rate (based on weight) so I didn't have to worry about paying by the hour and it was good and very reasonable. Tracy did the estimate and she was very helpful and knowledgable, answering questions and making suggestions. The 3 guys were courteous and hard working. I was highly impressed with everyone. They even followed up afterwards. I will be recommending to my friends. Moving is no fun. They took that stress out of it.

First, had to scream to get the company to move me on the dates they originally committed. A clear "bait and switch" from the salesperson. Fortunately, the driver bent over backwards to make the timing happen. Second, items were broken. Items always get broken, but I am 2 months since the move and I am still chasing the claim. Atlantic was VERY SLOW in responding, when they responded at all. Now they have sent me to the Van Line itself. VERY POOR SERVICE. I have spent $50,000 with this company on 3 different moves. But I will never use them again.

Response from Atlantic Relocation Atlas
We never had a problem meeting customer's dates. We have no idea what the "bait and switch" comment refers to.We not only did not charge more than the estimated price, we used 2 semi trailer vans at no additional cost, and at destination were forced to "shuttle" the goods on a small van, from the over-the-road vans (too high a crown on the hill to allow the trailers to pass over) at no additional charge. The claim is complicated, and is still in process. The driver was very experienced and top-rated. (The customer is a former employee of our company.)

Don't let the past poor reviews of this company scare you off, besides, they haven't had a review since 2007. They are obviously under new management, and have done a COMPLETE 180. Please read, and STRONGLY consider this company for your next move. They are true professionals. We were moving on short notice, and needed to act fast. I used an internet service to send me multiple moving quotes, and Atlantic Relocation was one of the first to respond with an email. A few other companies followed up with quotes and calls the next few days, and were pushy to give quotes and force me into a decision preemptively. I called and spoke with Tracy, who was warm and friendly. Gave me a quick estimate right out of the gate, both overshooting and undershooting in price. She informed me that one of their agents, Robyn, would be able to come out the NEXT DAY to give an in home estimate. This made me feel comfortable that someone had actually seen everything that we had to move. Since my company was only paying for $2,000 of the move, I made her aware that I needed to stay within the budget, as anything else over would have to be payed out of my own pocket. Robyn's quote was about $500 more than my budget, but she was very fair and thorough with her estimates. I then received an email moments after the initial quote that she had made a slight error in my favor, and it wound up being estimated at $2,350. I still had a good feeling about using this local company, and the information she gave me was very professional and I was more comfortable using Atlantic Relocation than the pushy company who was wanting to move me without having seen our things. There was some back and forth on exact pickup dates and times for our move, and I had a slight difficulty getting returned calls from Atlantic's offices, but when they did respond - they were on point, and had the answers I needed. I assume they were hard to get in touch with immediately because they were just that d*** good! I informed Shannon, (dispatcher) that because of my narrow time frame in moving, we needed to be loaded on Friday the 16th and delivered on Monday the 19th. Shannon told me the driver would be there between 9 and 11am on Friday morning. The phone rang at 8:58am with a call from the driver saying he was right around the corner. Ray and his crew of two men arrived and took a quick look through the apartment - then got to work with loading. They were quick and VERY thorough. Asking questions about what needed to be loaded, and what did not. They were very careful with all out items, took a very strict inventory of everything they loaded, and did so VERY quickly. After loading the truck, Ray informed me that they would meet us at our destination with our things on Monday morning at 9am. We signed the papers, and drove up to our new home. Monday morning at 7:30am my phone rang. It was Ray, he had mistakenly left a piece of our crated furniture at the warehouse and had to double back. He told me he would be a little late, and would meet us at Noon at our new apartment. The phone rang again at 12:02pm - it was our driver, Ray, they were out front. AMAZING punctuation from these guys. They were very meticulous in unloading and arranging furniture and loading boxes exactly where we wanted. My fiance was even able to move around a few pieces of furniture a few different times. Ray and Steven were very helpful and patient throughout the entire unloading process. We used the inventory from when they loaded to cross reference the unload to make sure EVERYTHING was there. And Everything WAS there, in perfect condition, just as it was when they loaded. Atlantic Relocation was the BEST moving experience I have ever had. Extremely punctual, professional, fast, and efficient. The only negative remark was that they could have been a little more responsive to some of the phone calls I had placed. Sometimes it took a few calls from my end to reach them, but they are clearly working with a smaller staff. This did not deter me from using their services. I had received a few quotes from other companies who were a little less, but none were able to come out to give in person estimates, and none were as friendly and as courteous as the staff at Atlantic. I had read many horror stories about moving companies losing items, damaging furniture, etc...ZERO problems with these guys. DEFINITELY recommend.
Description of Work: Atlantic Relocation (Atlas Van Lines contractor) loaded our items in Carmel, IN, drove them to Milwaukee, WI, and unloaded them. We did all the packing on our end, Atlantic took care of just the load/unload/transportation. They did crate a glass tabletop, and box up our mattresses. They also wrapped some expensive pieces of artwork at no additional charge.

The worst moving experience we have ever had. The estimate was for 7-8 hours, it took the guys 16 hrs to move us. One of the crew members tried to unlock a safe in our home and I was locked out of the safe for 30 minutes (it shuts itself down after 24 wrong code entries.) He then tried to tell me that he could move my husband's gun if I would open a second safe. I told him no b/c I knew that he was not allowed to move the guns. I told them not to move a jewelry armoire and they moved it anyway. Now I am missing a $6000 pair of diamond earrings. When I brought this up to the company, they claimed that they wouldn't do anything about it and continued to ask me whether I had misplaced the earrings. Overall this was a terrible experience and I would NEVER recommend this company after the way we were treated.. not only by the crew, but by the management too. It has been 3 months and the damage to our new home has not been repaired.
Description of Work: We made a local move to our new home in July 2007. The move from the old house to the new one was less than 2 miles.

Response from Atlantic Relocation Atlas
AT OUR URGING CUSTOMER FILED A POLICE REPORT. POLICE INVESTIGATED THOROUGHLY AND FOUND NO BASIS FOR THE CLAIM. SHE FILED LAW SUIT. HER ATTORNEY CONVINCED HER TO DROP CASE FOR LACK OF MERIT. BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU INVESTIGATED AND REFUSED TO FILE COMPLAINT. CUSTOMER ASKED FOR HELP WITH STUCK GUN CASE. NEITHER THE ISSUE WITH GUN CASE NOR WITH THE JEWELRY CASE WAS AS SHE STATED. WE REDUCED CHARGES EVEN THOUGH CUSTOMER FAILED TO MOVE MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS IN A U-HAUL AS SHE PLANNED. WE SETTLED DAMAGE CLAIM IN ITS ENTIRETY IN A TIMELY MANNER. CUSTOMER'S STORY ON MISSING EARRINGS CHANGED COMPLETELY OVER TIME, AFTER SHE TOLD HUSBAND SHE COULD NOT FIND EARRINGS. OUR CREW PASSED LIE DETECTOR TEST. CUSTOMER THREATENED TO HARM OUR REPUTATION IF WE FAILED TO PAY FOR THE EARRINGS. WE HAVE DENIED ANY CULPABILITY AND HAVE REFUSED TO PAY IN SPITE OF CUSTOMER'S RELENTLESS EFFORTS TO FORCE US.

To begin, Barry did an outstanding job of coming out and looking at the contents of our large house to determine an estimate. It is obvious he has been in the business a very long time as he understood exactly what we were going through with this move. He was very professional and kind in his manner toward us. Prior to the move, Barry and his office staff communicated with us regularly to let us know they were there for us if we need anything. Moving day was great. The entire moving team was professional, and cared about what they were moving. We loved their work and would definitely recommend Barry to anyone!
Description of Work: Barry and his group moved us within the city.

THE PEOPLE THAT UNLOADED THE TRUCK WERE GOOD, IT WAS TOP PERSONNEL THAT WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH. THEY WERE VERY RUDE, THEY ARE NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. THEY WERE NOT PUNCTUAL. THERE ESTIMATE WAS WAY OFF. THE ITEMS WERE LATE GETTING TO THE LOCATION IN NORTH CAROLINA, WE HAD TO FILE ALL SORTS OF CLAIMS TO GET THESE ITEMS RETRIEVED. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
