Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal for 1/4 acre of overseeding and aeration as a gift for my mother, who is 83 and has difficultly walking. Prior to purchasing the deal, I contacted the owner of the nursery to discuss having them look at the front yard which was highly weed-infested, and let me know whether it overseeding is enough to save it, or if I would need to take more rigorous measures. He said he would have to look at it to be sure, but that rototilling and applying topsoil and restarting might be an option. They wrote to say they would be in that area Sept 20-22. When no one came after a week, I called - and they realized they had skipped her house - so they sent someone out there fairly quickly. I received a note from the owner the Oct 2 saying that "we came and did your mothers yard. It was larger than the 1/4 acre purchased so not all of the back was done." I did not realize her yard was over a 1/4 acre - because that is what my father always told me it was (I don't know whether the part the house is on counts or not), but it appears it was closer to a 3rd of an acre. I wrote back stating that I would have preferred that they let me know that while they were there - or tell her - so that I could have chosen to pay for the rest of the yard to be overseeded - and/or chosen not to do the front yard, which well may be hopeless. The back yard still has hope and needs attention. I never received a reply to that message. My mother - who was trying to see what had been done ended up walking all over the yard to see where it was touched and where it wasn't and that is very dangerous for her. They did call me to tell me what they could do in the spring - but I didn't get a price for what the work would cost. I'm very disappointed. The part of the yard that probably cannot be saved was overseeded, and the part of the yard that can be saved was omitted. This cost me $79 and risked my mother's health because she was so worried about me getting what I paid for. So I feel like I got about 25% of what I paid for - a piece of the back yard. I had also bought the $59 Big Deal for my own small yard and they did come out again as a courtesy after I noticed areas that didn't appear to be covered. Where there was grass, I could see the aeration, but I could not see any seed. In areas with no grass, it was smooth. I did realize after talking with them at length, that my understanding of what overseeding is, is probalby not correct - i expected them to go over all areas of the yard, but if there was no grass there, they would not do it - because you cannot overseed something that is not there - so I do now understand that. I think they are trying - and may have had to add additional people to do the Big Deal - - but the lack of judgement and just deciding to skip a huge piece of the lawn - and not calling me to say - "hey this is bigger than you said - do you want to pay for me to finish the job" makes me unsure of their judgement.

Description of Work: I responded to the Big Deal for areation and overseeding of my lawn. I was a little disappointed it took over a month for the work to be done, but I am very satisfied now. Since the price was right, I'm sure they had lots of calls. The young man who came did a very fine job. He was efficient but didn't rush through the job. The plugs were bigger and went deeper than when I have had areation done in the past. I will definitely call this company again. I appreciate the company offering this deal. It really helped me, financially. I do like having a nice looking yard.

Description of Work: The yard was aerated and seeded. I don't see very much seed in the yard even though the description of the service said aeration an OVERSEEDING.

Description of Work: we used the special offer for aeration and overseeding for our yard. My husband was pleased with the way the work was done, they were cautious about drains and areas close to the house. Next spring will tell us if the process helped with new lawn growth. They were prompt and answered questions and did a nice follow-up via e-mail.

Description of Work: Originally there was confusion as to the property where the service was to be performed. The company called to clarify, rescheduled the service promptly and followed through to completion. Overall a very good job on all levels.
