+ -1 moreService was timely. Communication was poor. I was told via email that my messages were received ... but if they were, the person who performed the service wasn't given the message because he wasn't aware of what the information I had sent.
Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal for Arbuckle Nursery. The deal included aerating and over-seeding of my yard. I read through other reviews that this was a small company and that the best communication was via email. I emailed the company to confirm the areas I was wanting serviced. If the entire yard was done, it would be an overage and would result in additional costs. I emailed again to confirm receipt of the email containing the information I sent and was assured that my emails were indeed received. I also received an approximate time/date of the service. On the day of service, I was trying to get ready for my step-daughter's wedding. Since I had emailed in advance, I didn't think I would need to go over things again in person. When the gentleman arrived, though, he went over the fact that I was going to have additional charges because of the size of my yard. I had to go outside, with my hair in a towel, to show the areas needing taken care of. I didn't have time to confirm everything was done correctly. The next day, though, I went out to view the job. I was happy with the aerating, but was not happy with the seeding. Although this was only for over-seeding, I was very unhappy with the VERY minimal amount of seeding applied. Last year, the company I went with was very similar in pricing & service but the over-seeding was much more appropriate. I was disappointed to say the least.

They could not do it on the original date due to weather complications but rescheduled and came on the date they said. They did a single pass with the aerator and spread a modest amount of seed. For the price we thought it was a decent value.

+ -1 moreI bought the "Big Deal" that they offered for aerating and overseeding. They had to reschedule a few times because of weather. They were pretty good about providing updates on their plans and this was the only thing that was not perfect about the service they provided. After the dry, dry summer we had they made sure to get the spots where the lawn was bare. Overall we were pleased with the service.

+ -1 moreAs far as I know, they were very pleased. I was caught a bit off-guard because I had not read the "fine print" to understand it would cost more than I expected. Since it was a group gift, it just meant we were out more than I expected. It was not an unreasonable upcharge. But it should be a bit more conspicuous.

+ -1 moreThe scheduling was very informal, all communication was over email. Responses were answered very quickly. I wasn't given much influence over the timing of the work, but that wasn't a major problem. The date that was given to me was any time over a weekend, however the work didn't actually occur until almost a week later, without much communication. Additionally, I wasn't home when the work was done, but I was pleased with the aeration that was done. I wasn't able to see any seed in the yard, so I assume the overseeding was pretty light, but I couldn't verify anything since I wasn't home. All in all, it was a good value for the price.

+ -1 moreThe only issue I had was that I felt they wanted to just show up whenever it was convenient for them. This was as issue for us as we keep our backyard privacy fence gate locked due to having dogs. We needed to know when they were coming so we could make sure the gate was unlocked for their access. This might not be an issue for most customers but it was for us only because of this one issue.
Description of Work: Company provided services as stated in the Big Deal through Angie's List. Did not feel that they "overseeded" the yard as advertised - just minimal seeding. They did a good job on the aeration though. Would use them again.

+ 0 moreGood job with the large area. They seem to be very thorough in blowing the leaves out of the flower beds, but the dog run (we do not have a dog so there would be no waste) was left untouched.

+ 1 moreThese guys made every effort to squeeze me in on a Friday night, before a big rain was supposed to hit on Saturday. I appreciated their responsiveness and urgency to get the job done at the best time (pre-rain). When I called them a couple of weeks later to say that I didn't think there was enough seed and aeration because not much was growing, they promptly came back to access the situation. At no extra charge, they did more extensive aeration and a lot more seed. It seemed to take hold after that. I should have done more raking of the dead and bare areas, before they came the first time, since they do not do that. I would have appreciated if they would have told me how to better prep the lawn before they came. I had to learn that one on my own from a little research
