 + 0 moreThe service was prompt and even though it took two trips, we felt the charge for all that was done was very reasonable. The technician had to work a long time to find the best phone line to use for our doorbell system. He was also the one who suggested just getting something second-hand for our stereo, as it was old, and then went out and found one for us. We highly recommend this company and plan to use them for a future project.
Description of Work: We found this company on Angie's list and they were perfect as we had both an alarm issue and a stereo equipment problem, so this company could deal with both. They replaced a broken intercom system that was part of our doorbell by putting in a new system that calls us on the phone to let us know when someone is at our door. (We live on the third floor of a big house). They found a used receiver for our stereo system (which is 15+ years old) and replaced the burned out one with it. This saved us having to get a whole new system.

 + -1 moreVery well. Gus was punctual and professional and very knowledgeable. He was able to save us a lot of money by activating the existing system. Another company might have taken the easy way and just sold us a new system. We now use them for our monitoring company, too.
Description of Work: Gus came out to evaluate our alarm system in the house we moved into so we could try to use the existing one. He spent quite awhile going through it and was able to obtain the codes needed to activate it, even thought it is an obsolete system.

 + -1 moreGeorge spent almost 8 hours at our house hard wiring the alarm system. He and Gus will answer all of your questions. They're competitve, they have a less expensive monthly monitoring fee and a shorter term contract. I would recommend you call them and at least have them give you an estimate.
Description of Work: Apple alarm gave me a fair estimate on an alarm system. They then came out and installed the alarm and showed us how to use it, test it and avoid false alarms.

 + -1 moreThey weren't very easy to get a hold of but once they came out they were great.
Description of Work: The alarm system that was originally put in my house had to be activated with a key outside. We lost the key and thought they were going to tell us we would have to get a new system. They did not. They put in a keypad outside like the one inside with the same codes. They didn't try to sell me a new system - which they could have. They saved me a lot of money.

 + -1 moreThe installation went well. They actually did a very nice job of running some wiring through a finished basement to the second story. We had an issue with one of the sensors later and they came right out and fixed it. One nice thing about Apple is that you actually own the system as opposed to leasing it. Also, the monthly monitoring fee is only $20.
Description of Work: We had an alarm system installed, including door sensors, smoke alarms and motion detectors.

 + -1 moreOverall, the work went very well. When Apple's worker, Marvin, arrived, on time, he went over what we wanted him to do. He checked the sites out, made a couple of good suggesting to me, which I okayed, and proceeded to do the work. The routing wire was strung from one room to the other, under the floor, connected the wire to the appropriate equipment in each room. A test of the work was performed and everything worked as it should. Mr. Marvin arrived on time, was clean, was neat in his work, left no mess when he was done.
Description of Work: A computing router wire was run from one room in the house, under the floor, to another room. This wire was run between the floor on the 1st floor and the ceiling of the basement, which has a drop ceiling. From the originating room, a hole had to be drilled through the floor from the top, then find the hole in the basement. The same had to be done in the other room. Then the wire had to be fed between the walls, through the holes, and connected on both ends.

 + -1 moreThe command center from my previous alarm company failed. I called Gus, and he came out and did a very comprehensive assessment and evaluation. He recommended some caulking to the bracket that holds the alarm button to keep water from getting under it and keep it from rusting. He is planning to update my system to respond to fire.
Description of Work: They found a problem with my current alarm system and fixed it.

 + -1 moreAs in the past, I feel that Apple is low key and honest in their feedback. And, at least until now, you can't beat the price!
Description of Work: A workman installing a countertop removed the central unit of our intercom system and suggested having it serviced because of its appearance inside the unit. Apple had serviced our alarm system, so I called them after checking A/L. After a second call to their office, a rep. came by promptly and checked out the unit. He felt it was okay and the front doorbell was inoperable due to a frozen part. He said he was in the area frequently and would bring the part that needed replacing. To date, he has not been back, but neither have we been charged for the service.

 + -1 moreThe moment we met Gus & watched him manipulate & assess another company's alarm system, we knew we were talking to the right person. They are very knowledgeable in home safety. They are the best set up for your home, wiring, & the function of various systems. He openly advised what he thought would NOT be necessary based on our needs, thereby saving us money when he just as easily could have told us otherwise. He has personable, very fast service. Melvin, the installer, does great work.

The company owner comes out to inspect the install and explain the system. Outstanding company - I would definitely do business with them again!
