Description of Work: I was very disappointed in this service. I think this was the first time these people did the tune up service. They did not do my dryer, which was one of the things I thought they would do. They told me my metal dryer connection was not up to code. (Who's code, I don't know because this was installed by Sears and I assumed it was up to village code. They also did not go into the attic to inspect the insulation. They basically looked at my furnace (which is serviced every fall) into my living space and around the outside of the house. They told me I needed a downspout at the SE corner of my house, but there is one there. They did tell me the house was basically in good condition. I have since had the handyman who does work when I needed, and he checked things out for me. I do need some things done, but since they are not urgent, I'm planning to do them at a later date. They also had problems with your computer program and told me they would do submit their report later in the day. They did call the next day to say they were having trouble with the program and would upload it to the computer as soon as possible. I was not upset with the delay as I knew this was all new. When I went to look at the report, I found it very confusing. I even had trouble trying to contact you, so I just gave up. | |If you are continuing this program, I would suggest that you give the purchaser, in advance, a detailed list of what the service provider is to check out. I also expect them to have more knowledge than I do about their job. I do feel that I wasted my money and it will make me cautious about using Angie's List as I now doubt its reliability.

Description of Work: They did an interior inspection looking for home maintenance and safety issues. They also did small maintenance tasks along the way, such as cleaning the coils on the fridge. There are two reasons I didn't give an a for quality. One is that they accidentally unplugged my extra freezer while inspecting it, and didn't notice that. I could have lost a lot of food if I hadn't noticed shortly after they left. The other thing was that they didn't really make it clear that they were only going to look at things inside the house and I really thought I'd get more bang for the buck, including having them give me some report on the state of my roof. I had signed up for the service to get an overview of home maintenance things to consider and prioritize. I didn't get as much as I expected.

Description of Work: CASE provided a home tune-up on 13Jun2014. The person showed up 5 minutes early, explained everything thoroughly, kept me apprised during the inspection (took only about an hour, I have a townhome), asked if I had pets to worry about, explained how and when I would receive a report, and was extremely professional, courteous, and friendly.

Description of Work: House Doctors went through the tune up checklist. He took pictures of kitchen appliance model/serial numbers. These were later paired with the online product manuals for easy future access (note that not all product models are supported). He checked/cleaned the dryer vent, did a brief inspection of the fireplace, cleaned the dishwasher food trap, checked out the attic, tested smoke detectors, checked the exterior of the house and noted areas of window rot. It is helpful to now have all my appliance manuals in one spot. What I think would be a useful addition to this service would be to compile a list of reminders such as when to have your next gutter cleaning, when to have your furnace/ac inspected next, when to next clean you dryer vent etc.

Description of Work: He provided a home inspection. It was like a well-baby check. I wanted to determine if there were any issues lurking underneath the surface visual.

Description of Work: The report was detailed and supported by photos and references to relevant links. I believe it is an accurate portrayal of the significant existing or potential problems that we are (or may in the future) encounter.

Description of Work: Nothing. He did not serve homes in DC proper. Need to have that as a detail on the businesses that say they serve the Greater Washington DC area. If they only serve a certain section of VA then they should put that.
