Our experience with Al was phenomenal. We learned about him from a friend who highly recommended him. He was prompt in returning our phone call and remembered our friend even though it had been several years since she had used his services. My husband and I were first-time home buyers, so we needed a real estate agent who could provide a lot of guidance, but we didn't want someone who was pushy. Al struck that balance perfectly. We were also rather picky. We wanted to be in the Washington Township school district, we wanted a basement, we wanted 3-4 bedrooms and two baths, we didn't like cookie-cutter neighborhoods, we preferred a fenced-in yard, etc., etc. He was very patient with us. He sent us information about dozens of homes, we toured 15-20, and finally settled on one with a list price outside our price range, but it was by far our favorite. I can't even tell you how hard Al worked to get this home for us. He skillfully led us through the negotiation process and ultimately got the sellers to significantly reduce the price. We later found out he was just getting started. He used the home inspection to secure an additional several thousand dollars in improvements on the home, which the seller paid for, and the seller agreed to give us a hefty credit at closing as well. This entire process took three months, but I want to be clear that this was because we wanted a house outside our price range. Al was up front about that fact that he thought it was possible, but that we should understand it may take some time and some tough negotiating. He recommended our home inspector and several contractors who came out and gave estimates for things like some chimney repair, some plumbing issues, etc. All of them turned out to be top notch, and Al knew how to use their recommendations in the negotiating process. There were several times we thought the deal might not work out, but Al steered it back on course at every turn. On top of his negotiating skills, he's just a super likeable guy. Our parents liked him. Our two-year-old liked him. In the end, even the sellers liked him. In fact, I believe it was his encounter with the seller during the furnace inspection that really sealed the deal. To put it simply, I just can't recommend Al highly enough.
