I purchased a Kirby and had a problem with the unit on Monday Nov 9th. I immediately called Ackerman & Associates. Promised call backs never happened. And a call back from their Crew Chief, Pat, never happened. After complaining, a woman from the office promised she would contact my sales rep personally and have her stop by my home on Tuesday Nov 10th to resolve the issue. I waited at home ALL DAY on Tuesday Nov 10th. No one showed up; no one bothered to call me. At 4 p.m. I called Ackerman & Associates and was informed that my rep had shown up in their office to say she had been by my home and that I wasn't there. The next day, I was able to contact my sales rep on my own initiative. She lives in my neighborhood. Upon speaking with her, I discovered that NO ONE from the office of Ackerman & Associates had called her with a request to stop by my home on Tuesday Nov 10th. After this experience, it appears to me that Ackerman & Associates: 1. Prefers not to return promised phone calls 2. Finds servicing their sold units to be inconvenient 3. Has little regard for the truth 4. Has a poor concept of customer service We will not deal with Ackerman & Associates again.
Description of Work: We purchased a Kirby.

I will not be able to express the frustration, stress and waste of time this company put me through! At 9 PM on a Wed night a little girl rang my doorbell. She was about 15 years old so I answered the door. She explained she was giving away free candles to promote a new business in town, so I said great and she then asked me if I had heard of the Sentria. I said no, and she said OK-well thanks so much, here is your candle, we sell the Sentria at our storefront at (whatever the street location was). Then she said, hold on one second. Next thing I know 2 more people show up and literally let themselves into my home. I was so in shock that I couldn't really speak and before I knew it, they were setting up a vacuum display. The sales man was Randy and the other lady never said her name. She just went and sat on my couch and watched as he started his pitch. The young girl was gone and when I asked where she went the other girl said 'She is in charge of just getting us in the house for the demonstration' I felt AMBUSHED!. To make matters worse I had to get up at 4:30 the next morning to catch a flight. I didn't want to be rude and kick them out, and thought it would only take a short period of time, because that's what they told me. These people were in my house for 1 hour and 52 minutes...until almost 11 PM on a weeknight!! The sales man and lady went into my bedroom to show me how the product worked which made me feel VERY uncomfortable. They sprayed stuff on my carpet, they asked for something to drink, they used our glass cleaner and paper towels to clean their own display. At the end I told them I didn't want to buy the vacuum. It started at $3,000, but they said for the door to door sales they were selling it for $1,800. I continued to say no, then James called his supervisor and said he had to come in to make sure he 'did his job'. Randy the supervisor came in to my home...now I have 3 strangers in my home. Randy continued to pressure me into buying the vacuum explaining that James was going to get to go to Vegas if he sold 1 more. I could care less. FINALLY they started to pack up and leave. Randy made comments about my car in the driveway, the nice things in my house and I felt VERY unsafe and uncomfortable. This was a horrible experience and I want everyone to know about it as these people should not be allowed to do this. Now these people know everything that is in my home and were the definition of a SLEAZY sales company.
Description of Work: Company tried to sell me a Sentria Kirby vacuum cleaner/shampooer.
