BEAUTIFULLY! I have another hime improvement project that has been dragging on for 5 months, ACCESS Mobility, on the other hand had our bid on file, I called last Thurs, and it was installed TODAY, 3 business days later. Bill installed it in less than 2 hours. And my husband has been using it today. Just in the nick of time. THANK YOU, Access Mobility. Wish all service providers were this efficient and prompt.

Access Mobility had the best price, the installation was on time, very professional and considerate (as quiet as he could be, so as not to disturb), well executed with care for our home, and the equipment was in good shape and worked exactly as we needed. This is a family-run business with a father/son and their field teams, and the attention to customer service showed. The thoughtfulness when our family member passed away was exceptionally moving and showed that you're dealing with great people who run a local business and not just a giant corporation. Can't say anything nicer about the experience.
Description of Work: We used Access Mobility for the installation and three-month rental of a stair lift necessitated by a family member's terminal illness.

From your review I felt compelled to do a little research before replying. My son Alan was familiar with the events and he gave me the overview. First, I am sorry for your loss. Second, thank you for your kind review. We are a family business and we try to operate daily with the Golden Rule as our guide. Under the circumstances Alan felt that the arrangement you both made were fair and the right thing to do. No need for details but suffice to say again thank you for your kind review and your business. Best wishes to you and your family. John Ausbrooks, President

Access was great. They really cared and took care of me. The nurses that come out treat us well. I don’t have a nurse anymore. I still keep in contact with my therapist. They drop by just to say hello when they are in the neighborhood. I've remained friends with them.

They came out to repair my chairlift. It was pronounced dead and it was going to cost me over 13000. they did it for around 1100. They even allowed me to pay in 2 installments. After the work was done they called me twice to see how it was working for me.

Had researched stair lifts online. Consulted Angieslist for information on providers and selected this vendor. initial visit scheduled promptly and representative appeared on timely basis. Information and estimates provided with no "pressure". Answered all questions without sense of being rushed. Estimate was in range I determined from online research. Contract completed and work done 1/29/2013. Installer was prompt, professional and competent. Again answered all questions after going through basic information about unit. Once again, there was no rush to get out as quickly as possible. Overall experience was very positive.

DearMember, I am sorry for what appears to be a misunderstanding. I called the gentleman that you talked to into my office to try and find out what happened. It was Tony and he remembered talking with you. He went back to his desk and brought his daily note pad where he makes notes of his calls. He showed me where you called on February 22. It says you mentioned that someone was coming home soon and that you wanted your bathrooms looked over for bathroom safety. Grab bars, commode heights and other bathroom concerns needed to be evaluated. An assessment was the term used. Tony said he explained that we have grab bars in our showroom and that we routinely go out and install them but we don’t do bathroom assessments. He said you wanted more of a full bath safety assessment rather than an installation. Tony felt like you would be looking for an agency that does bath safety evaluations so he took no further action. I guess we may have misunderstood what you wanted. We have men in our service department that routinely go out with a number of grab bars and masking tape. We stand in the bath area and hold the bars up while the user or other family member decide where they want them. Then we tape the bar location on the wall and go about securely installing them to wall studs with stainless steel screws or with specialty grab bar mounting anchors designed for the application. We are not really qualified to perform bath safety assessments, we leave that up to physical and occupational therapists and other professionals trained to evaluate the users abilities and the physical bathroom layout. Should you want this service you can find qualified people that do this at Crossroads/Easter Seals 317-466-1000. If you still need something done and do not want us t help then I know a gentleman at JMK Home improvements. 317-418-3319. He can be found here on Angie's List with reviews of his work. I truly apologize for our misunderstanding of what you wanted. John Ausbrooks President

Arrived at store with elderly, not-too-mobile relative to shop for lift chair. Customer service was excellent. They were patient and informative during the selection process while the prospective user had to try every chair and learn in detail all about each. Called back later to place the order and they were friendly and helpful. The chair had to be ordered, which we had been told before and how long to expect. Chair arrived when we were told and was delivered and set-up just as they said. Overall quite satisfied, recommend them highly.

Member, How nice of you to take the time to post a your review! I am very appreciative that you came in and let us help your family member. Our mission is to help people stay active and independent as long as possible. History has shown us that a lift chair can play a big part in helping folks stand with less pain and sit down slowly and safely. This usually encourages people to stand up and walk more frequently. I hope that is the case here. Thank you for letting us play a part in maintaining their independence. Best wishes to all of you, John Ausbrooks President

We needed a chair lift and when we called we spoke with a person and was was told we would hear from a rep soon. In a couple of hours we spoke to a representative and salesman and had an appointment the next day. The entire experience was good and the equipment works as it should. Thank you very much for the kind words and review. We invested heavily in a digital measuring system that takes the guesswork out of measuring curved stairs. We did that for a couple of reasons but the biggest reason was for our customer's satisfaction. We want these difficult to measure stair lifts to fit perfectly the first time. We strive for top quality installations. Thank you again for taking the time to send in the review. We appreciate your business! John Ausbrooks, President.

I feel this company was very honest and professional. This company first attempted to repair my lift chair. They disassembled the chair and explained to me in detail why the chair was inoperable. Therefore the serviceman explained to me the process of purchasing a new chair. He was very helpful and it took only about an hour to do everything. The end result was that I had a new chair that works great. I recommend this company to others.

It just so happens that I was on the phone with Angie's List when I got a call from them and I was at a point where I could discuss the frustrations I was having with that company. I had gotten to a place where I knew the repairman by name and he knew me and my house. We had it repaired to the point where they have not been here and the chair has been working fine since we had that little heart to heart discussion. My husband and I both are senior citizens with knee replacements and all of those kind of things so it was cheeper for us to just get the chair than to downsize. We had a three-level, four-bedroom house and it was hard to decided what to throw away and what to do with things. You have children and you want them to always be able to come back to their rooms and have a place. I had a very difficult period and I had lost trust in them when the were coming out so often. That would lower the rating. I don't know if it were I or if they were actually doing what they were supposed to do. I just know that there was one chair, the one that went down to the basement, that was giving us trouble. They were here on a regular basis. I think it would be unfair for me to give them a poor grade. I felt that there was no need and they were nickel and dining us to death. They might not have been doing what they should have been doing. They might have been putting an old battery in and said it was new. I have no way of proving that, I just know that for a week or two it would start to do the same thing again and I feel that that shouldn't have happened. I can't prove that. If I could prove that, I would be the first person to say, "Give them a D." But since I cannot prove that is what happened, I don't feel I am in a position to grade them. That is how I felt and I told them that was the way I felt. Since then, I don't feel that whatever they have done, it was more than the week or two before we had our conversation. By no means was I happy that they had to come out so much. I understood that they were a small company and it might be that that was the only person who they could send out to work on it but it was just too often. Something was going wrong every week and we were having to call them back. Once or twice, yes but four or five times in a year? I started keeping a journal about each time they came out and I told them "This journal is really filling up and I get the feeling with this crowded journal that we are being nickel and aimed to death because we are getting charged for every call you make." I was unhappy at one time but we haven't had to call back since May. I imagine that the price was comparable. If I thought that the quality was so great, I wouldn't have had to call them back every week. For a period of time it would have been a D but over time it got better so I would give them a C for quality. They were very friendly, we got to know each other personally by first name that was something that shouldn't have happened because they shouldn't have been here so often. They were very prompt and on time. There was a breakdown in communication for a while when they called us up 9 months after a service call they said we didn't pay for. We couldn't figure out why they would bring up a service call from 9 months ago when they were out so much. Finally, my husband said "Send me an invoice of what I am supposed to pay for the service call." They never sent the invoice but they called every Thursday so see why we had not paid the $135.00. At the point where we couldn't find anybody to repair the chair but them, we did have them come out and they brought an invoice. All of this took about three months. I guess the customer service was poor too. The upper lift was put in better than the bottom lift. The owner of the company did the upper lift and his workers put in the bottom lift and that is the one we had the most trouble with. Most of the people we called, did not work on this particular model and chair. If I had to start it all over, I would not use them again because I wouldn't want something so limited. They installed it and nobody else would touch it so I couldn't call someone up to repair it. I would try to get someone whose service and repairs wouldn't be so limited. I want to be able to call a good repair person who will come out and do a good job whether it is their chair or not. I would want to get something that was more popular and easier to repair.
Description of Work: Access Mobility Inc. came to repair our chair lift.

The tires I had were year tires so they could go flat if they were punctured. It has actually happened before and thankfully my husband was with me and he got me and my scooter back in the van. I would be terrified that it would happen and I have nobody to call. I had these tires that will not go flat and they did a good job. The price was reasonable. I would use them for everything to do with my wheel chair and the lift that I have in the Van.

They did not accommodate us at all. Unaccessable mobility would be a better name! They actually implied that our evaluation could be done by just talking to the handicapped individual or not seeing them at all. We had another company evaluate our home and they had my husband show them what he needed and they could assess his needs firsthand. I do not see how it would work any other way. If you are in the business of helping handicapped persons, then give them the respect of working with their schedule, especially if the handicapped person works more hours than you!
Description of Work: access mobility was a service provider sent to us by the VA Hospital to assess our home for handicapped ramps and other modifications needed by my husband who is in a wheelchair. Acc. Mob. Would not accommodate our schedule as they only work limited daytime hours and my handicapped husband works 10-12 hours a day. We worked with other companies who scheduled us when we could be home. I would not say that acc. Mob. Is a handicapped friendly company when that is their business! Unbelievable. If they are that rigid, I doubt they would be very good at assessment anyway. seems they should remove " access" from their name since they don't practice that adjective!

The chair & donut seat were fine. My inlaws decided they didn't want/need the toilet seat. We returned the seat without ever opening the package. When we returned it we were told there was a 20% restocking fee if not returned within 7 days. We were told it was returnable but they did not tell us there was a time limit. It is written in the small print on the receipt. Unfortunately, the inlaws are out of town so we weren't able to return it within the 45 days. We won't ever buy from them again. Instead, we will buy the same products off the internet for less!

I am sorry that the raised toilet seat did not work out. Sometimes that happens. We try to be clear and up front about our return policy. In addition to having the policy printed on the front of our receipts we have it posted in the showroom in full view on the side of the cash register facing customers. It is printed in large red type on an 8-1/2 x11' sheet. We have tried to allow a reasonable time for folks to make sure they like our products. Seven days is usually enough time to decide. We will even bend this date if it is within a second week. To be clear, we did take your purchase back and charged a restocking fee of $15. I am truly sorry that after 45 days us taking the commode back and refunding $60 has caused you to decide to never buy from us again. I do appreciate your past business and hope in the future we could have the privilege of assisting your family again. Best wishes to you. John Ausbrooks, General Manager

Selling scooters is not Access Mobilities strong suite. Their words, actions relating to scooter repairs, stair lift trial models, and stair lift instalation, in a positive fashion, drastically out weigh every thing else. In October, my stair lift should have a one-year check up. I am looking forward to seeing the repairman that installed my stair lift again for the one year check up.
Description of Work: The FIRST question we should have about scooter repairs, is how long has the scooter repairman been perfecting his skills ? Access Mobilities scooter repairman has been repairing scooters for 7 years or so. A couple of occasions at a competing scooter store, cost $500 for "repairs" that were actually damages to my scooter. On two occasions, the access mobility repairman has been able to quickly, accuratley diagnose, and repair my scooters problems. My scooter is frequesntly used to travel 0.3 miles to the corner shopping area of a Safeway, CVS, shirt cleaners, and jewelry store. Access mobilities abilities to keep my scooter in reliable working condition is a major benefit to my every day life.

My wife had back surgery and I designed an addition to the home. In that addition I put in a pit for an elevator. Mr. Asbrooks and Ron Manning, the owner and salesman, were great. There was a problem with shipping the elevator, but they worked hard and got us the correct elevator. They installed it in three days, rather than the standard five days. There have not been any problems with the elevator since the installation. We also use the elevator to bring in groceries.

They are a good company. They did an amazing job and I want everyone to know about it. They were professional and punctual. Two days to do the work wasn't too bad. When my husband went to pick up my scooter, the lift on the van to get it in the van broke. So, they tried to look it over to see if anything obvious was wrong with the lift because their service guy wasn't on site, and they couldn't see anything. So, two days later I took it back, and while I was there, within an hour they diagnosed the lift problem as a problem with the wire and it only cost me $16, which amazed me. They were fast and thorough. They were very reasonably priced. When they were working on my scooter, the repair man stayed after so he could move it to the sales area and we could pick it up on Saturday because they don't do repairs on Saturday. He went above and beyond.
Description of Work: I use Access Mobility. I have dealt with them in the past. The most recent time that I used them was last Wednesday when my mobility scooter broke down in the store. I called my husband to come out and he got me a scooter from inside the store and took my scooter to Access Mobility. They kept my scooter two days and it turned out a cell in my battery had died, so the whole thing wouldn't run. They replaced my two batteries and charged me about $230, which wasn't too bad.

I was surprised to find the bed still had some warranty left on it so I did not have to pay full price for the motors. While the serviceman was here, I asked that he order new legs to make the bed higher off the floor. He gave me two options for height. He id have ot order the new motors. It took about a week for them to come in. I originally purchased this bed from this company and would do it again. They were very attentive and anxious to get the bed fixed for me.
