Description of Work: I bought a water softener at Sears and used my American Express card to pay for it, which gives me an extra year of warranty coverage. It stopped working and I was told to call 1-800-4-my-home, which schedules a Sears approved company that can do the warranty work. I was stood up once. I then got the rudest and most obnoxious technician next (he didn't fix it), then I got a nice technician who didn't fix it as well, then they tried to send out the same rude technician and I wouldn't let him come to my house. I wasn't going to put up with him again after I specifically told them not to send him. I now have another appointment on 11/6/15. I spent $406.59 on the softener and another $175.00 to have it installed. I won't ever buy any more Kenmore appliances again and I want to make Sears aware of their so called approved company and the way their customers are treated.

Still have hollow ice and no filtered water. I will never use them again
Description of Work: My maytag fridge has low water pressure and my ice cubes are coming out hallow. I called maytag and they sent out a tech from A&E. The tech tried to diagnose the problem and told me all I had to do was buy this new filter piece and I could fix it myself. After buying the piece and breaking it, I had them come out again to fix what I broke. The tech told me I needed another piece to repair it. After waiting about a week for the piece to come in, a different tech came out put it all together and asked how to turn the water back on. I told him it was in the crawl space. He then said, " that's where I stop, we don't go into crawl spaces." So when my husband got home he turned the water back on and I still have hollow ice :-) NEVER USE A&E!

The wait was a bit long (over a week) and they showed up about 30 minutes past the window of time we agreed upon. They sent two repairmen--one to fix the fridge and one to fix the dishwasher. The dishwasher repairman did his job and was pleasant. The fridge repairman had to order parts and then another repairman came almost two weeks later to install them. The fridge (door not closing) worked correctly for about two weeks and now has the same problem. The repairmen charged me for costs that they said that the home warranty would not cover. The indicated that the warranty would cover the rest. Within a month or so, I started getting bills from A&E for additional costs that the repairmen said would be covered by the warranty. I would never let A&E back into my home (which is why my fridge still has the problem.)
Description of Work: This company was sent in response to a home warranty repair on a fridge and dishwasher.

They were very nasty; I don't care for them. They mailed the parts to me and when the technician showed up he was unhappy with me that not all the parts he needed were there. I really didn't feel that he was very professional. I complained about the first technician and they sent someone else out. The second technician was good. I was not happy with that kind of service, I don't feel that the customer should be the one to keep track of parts. The only reason we used them in the first place was because we purchased an extended warranty and they are the ones contracted with that. I will not use them again.

.The tube of the washer failed even though it had a life time warranty. They sent someone out and denied the claim and I had to take them to small claims court which I eventually won. They just took forever to get it fixed and eveytime I turned around they kept trying to bill me for parts and such even though it was to be covered under warranty. It was awful and they will never be allowed in my home again. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.

They were fairly decent. In terms of price, it was warranty work. If need be, I would use them again for appliance needs.

They took care all of that in one service call. The job done was excellent. They were supposed to be here between 8 &12 as they told me. I got the call from the technician within 15 minutes and he was here by 8'o clock. He got the job done within an hour. All the parts he had on were available on the truck; even when the dishwasher was 15-17 years old. He repaired it no problem and worked perfectly. He was very personable technician. He explained what he was doing and how things work out. It thought it was worth the money.
Description of Work: A&E Factory Services LLC repaired the dishwasher as it was leaking and replaced few parts two weeks ago. It is factory authorized repair service in this area.

The experience was horrible. The technician never even opened the machine or turned it on. It was clear he was not here to solve anything. All I got was an explanation that nothing was covered by the Lowe's extended warranty. This was after he tried to level the machine and made it worse and realized it was going to take more work than he was prepared for. He tilted the machine out so far from the wall that the hoses started to spray water on my wall. Amazing that this guy knew nothing about how to fix the problem and recommended ordering new parts that were not needed. He came prepared to fix nothing, didn't even have basic knowledge of the machine and his diagnosis was completely inaccurate. Beware of using A&E for anything. They are incompetent. I would recommend finding a local service expert. Also, the Lowe's extended warranty for large appliances is a complete scam. Buyer beware.
Description of Work: Lowe's sent A&E out for a service call on the extended warranty for my Washing machine. The machine was shaking and getting progressively worse, so I requested service. Service requested was an analysis of the alignment of the machine. Services performed were basically none as described below in "how it went".

In May 2008 we had a technician check our 4 year old refrigerator for an intermittent, infrequent knocking noise. The noise didn't occur during the visit and we were told everything was fine. We paid $127 for this visit. In June 2009 we had another technician evaluate the same problem, but the noise didn't occur during that visit. Again we were told everything was fine and we paid $65.00 for the visit. Finally in October 2010, when we were tired of living with this noise, we decided to tape the sound and had another company check our refrigerator. At that point we were told the compressor was faulty, and after it was replaced, the noise was gone. The A & E technician should have repaired this part 2 years earlier (or at least told us to tape the sound if that was important). This would have saved us the frustration of dealing with this problem for over 2 years.

My six-month old GE Profile dishwasher stopped working, so I went through the warranty service scheduler offered by GE and was directed to this company. I was set up on-line for a January 14th appointment, for which I had to take off a half day of work as only a 4 hour window was provided. At about 9:00 a.m., I called the company to see if they could finetune the time the repairman would be there....and was informed that my appointment was for February 1st. I was offered another appointment for January 19...but, if I wanted to talk to GE about getting an appointment today, maybe I could get them to pay an expedite fee. This company is incompetant at best, or at the worst, dishonest. I would never use them again and had GE reassign my case to another company.
Description of Work: Repair GE Profile dishwasher under warranty. Did not do the work.

I went to the appliance repair department. The price was very reasonable. We got an extended warranty when we bought the refrigerator. So we didn?t have to pay for the repair this time and the bill was sent to the warranty people. The overhead light in the refrigerator was on all night as the buttons got stuck. It was all melted when we opened it the next day. So I called the company and they gave me another name to call and those people were horrible. We then found A&E Factory Services and the technician over there was very nice. He took the unit out and talked to us about it. He showed us what had happened. He was very cordial and friendly. He told us to call him back in case we had more trouble. They came out very quickly. I appreciated the technician?s professionalism because he did explain things instead of just coming in, fixing and leaving. I would use their services in the future too.

A&E only books a time within four hour windows. Mine was booked for Saturday morning between 8am and noon. The repairman didn't show up until 12:30pm. He said that I was his first call of the day and that he had been called by the company on Friday and had told them he was only available in the afternoon. So the company knew that he wouldn't make it until the afternoon, but it didn't bother to call me to let me know not to wait around all morning. On the positive side, the repairman was very professional. He was very honest and told me that I was better off buying a new machine instead of having the existing one repaired. I appreciated his directness as this saved me the repair cost even if it lost his company some business. (I also thought that $130 for a 15 minute housecall in which nothing really was done except an evaluation seemed expensive.)

Again, this service was for a refrigerator/freezer. The phone rep informed me that the earliest possible appointment would be the next day and that they normally DO NOT PROVIDE SAME-DAY APPOINTMENTS. While A&E may have this as their policy, I am finding this to be the case with most appliance repair service providers. No mobile dispatch? I think it's high time someone got in the game who can provide same-day appointments ESPECIALLY FOR FREEZERS and refrigerators! For heaven's sake, the food is spoiling by the minute! By saying that their service reps work from home and are dispatched 24 hours in advance, he implied that they do not prioritize appointments based on equipment type, and this is just ridiculous. What with mobile phones and other wireless mobile devices, no mobile dispatch?

They came out and diagnosed the problem. They did not offer me any options or tell me how much it was going to cost after they diagnosed the problem. The service rep was here for about a total of 30 minuets. In addition the repair maybe took 15 minutes. I was shocked to find the labor cost was 209 dollars for about 15 minutes of work.

Both technicians were very competent and professional. Steve was the one who came and replaced the parts. He was focused but friendly. We asked him about the oven while he was there to fix the dishwasher. He was agreeable, had the part we needed for the oven, and explained to my husband how to replace the part if he wanted to do it. We decided to let him do it, but we were impressed that he answered our questions and was honest. The only problem was finding a time when they could come and one of us could be home. Their windows of time are 4 hours, and they couldn't guarantee that we would be first or last in that time frame.
Description of Work: installed a control board for the dishwasher, which was under recall. He also replaced the clock in the oven.
