They were good. He was pretty thorough with the information and what they were going to do. No work was performed.

Went very well they showed up in the morning and were finished by 4pm. All were courteous and hardworking. When the job was finished they picked up trash to the point that I could not find any after. Roof looks great!

The job went perfectly. James (the owner) was there for both the initial estimate and on the day of the installation. His crew was punctual and efficient and finished the job in just one day. They also cleared out debris from the gutters when they were finished and did a magnet sweep around the house. The new roof looks great -- I am very satisfied.

The crew arrived promptly at 7.00 a.m. put down tarps to protect deck/landscaping etc., and started tearing off the old roof. The crew was very well organized. Everyone went about their assigned task efficiently and kept up a swift pace until approximately 12.30 p.m. at which time the roof was completely replaced and all debris removed: they even swept my driveway. The roof looks great. James, the owner, was professional, efficient and punctual throughout the process of bidding, accepting and completing the job. I highly recommend his services.

I noticed I had some missing shingles on my roof. I looked up roofers in my area and read reviews. A1 Roofing had outstanding reviews with Angie's list, BBB, HomeAdvisor, and with the real estate company Tucker. I decided I would give them a call. The owner James Moore came out to my house to inspect my roof. He was very polite and explained to me what all was going on with my roof. He even helped me out with my insurance company to get my roof paid for. I had a schedule appointment for a new roof the following week. His crew was very professional and respectful. They made sure I had my car out of the garage and protected my landscape. I was astonished by how well the crew took the time to make sure my yard had no debris. They did an excellent job on my roof. I even had my neighbors tell me how great my roof looks. I would highly recommend this company.

I was disappointed with the roof. The crew did not speak English so they were unable to communicate with me and I was unable to communicate with them. They came and left for several hours and never told me when they were leaving or when they would be returning. Once a person asked me about an electrical outlet and it was like a game of charades. They came by with a cheap looking wooden hand made cart to place the old roofing material in. Very unprofessional. They didn't clean up after the first day of work and did a poor job cleaning up when they did. The contract stated that a magnet sweep would be done each day after work and that didn't happen. I pulled 12 large nails from my driveway and one ended up in my tire. I spoke to Mr. Moore over the phone, and after the contract was signed, I never saw his again. After they finished the job, I wasn't sure if they were coming back. I expressed my concern and my feelings about the roof. The chimney area didn't look finished and so Mr. Moore sent a guy out to look at it. My husband and I pointed out what didn't look right about the chimney, he said he would return the next day and didn't. But, he sent someone out to collect the check for $7,400. We never agreed that the roof was done. Mr. Moore then started texting me rude emails because there was question about the total. He was speaking to me like I never sent him the check. I told him, at this point, that that was rude. Totally clueless! The inspector came out and walked the roof, and there were two things that I was told that they did not replace the flashing or counter-flashing surrounding the chimney. It's a very old house, the roof is well over 20 years old and you are supposed replace those things. The inspector ended with telling me that corners were cut and the quality of the insulation is compromised. So I got an attorney, The attorney sent him a registered letter by mail and they refused it on Jan. 12th, 19th, and 25th. I haven't heard from them at all. It stormed yesterday and my roof was leaking at the chimney. They didn't pull a permit for the job either..

James Moore, the owner, was installing a roof in my neighborhood. I stopped and asked him if he could come to my house and fix a broken shingle. He arrived 15 minutes later and fixed the problem. I was really impressed with how willing he was to help and equally impressed that he did it for free.

FABULOUS!! I called A-1 for an estimate on my roof that needed to be replaced on a very short timeframe and under tentative weather conditions. Jim responded quickly and came to my home for a personal inspection. Within 15 minutes i had the estimate in-hand along with shingle recommendations. He checked the weather conditions and confirmed the best day for the services within my already tight timeline and he worked with my insurance company to assure that everything was aligned. When the weather conditions turned for the worst, he had an alternate plan, which he eventually had to go with the meet my deadline. His crew showed up as scheduled and completed the job as expected. Jim even came back to inspect the work midway through the project and at project completion. All i can say is that he was an angel in disguise. If you want a roofer who gets he job done - go with A-1 !!! A COMPLETELY SATISFIED CUSTOMER. Thanks Jim!!!

They were lower than all the other estimates we had gotten but we didn't use the service because we moved from the home. They were pretty much true to what they had said that they were going to do. We had gotten a couple of other estimates and the estimates that we got were higher priced, didn't say that they would do that or explain to us what needed to be done. We were pretty much confident in what they were do. They were great. We had to wait until the weekend to call them but I just happened to call on Saturday morning just to see if I can leave a voicemail and someone actually answered the phone. The quote was very detailed and they even sent an email describing everything that would have been done and materials used.

He had it done in a day... My insurance company was happy with the work therefore I was happy... My homeowners insurance stayed in force

They demo'd the old roof, and installed the new roof in one day. They worked very hard, and everything seems perfect.

Crew arrived Friday morning around 7:00 and worked continuously until darkness. Returned the next morning for about 2 hours to complete the back porch and finish clean up. I was pleasantly surprised by the thoroughness of the clean up. I couldn't even find a roofing nail in the flower beds. I would highly recommend A-1 to anyone needing their service.

On time and professional. I don't remember the exact price but it was very competitive with other services and not nearly as high as some. Really super nice people.

Just got on the roof and installed a roof vent over a closed area.

I called on a Saturday morning after I noticed birds setting up nests in my roof. I spoke with Jerry and informed him of the problem. He came out (on a rainy day) and took a look at my soffit and informed me that the part I needed he would have to shop around for. On Monday he called and told me the part would cost a ridiculous price for what I needed, so he suggested I use scrap pieces that the company gave him free. Needless to say the work was performed in a professional manner and the work looks amazing. Jerry was very friendly,kind,patient and professional. I will definitely be using Jerry from A-1 in the future.

The roofing crew was just great. They worked hard taking only occasional breaks. When they did take breaks, they cleaned up after themselves leaving not so much as a cup or a wrapper. After the roof started going on, I worried that we had chosen the wrong color. I talked to the foreman, and he took a little time to reassure me that it was probably the best. He went over heat factors that the other color I had thought about, and I felt very reassured that the color would be ok. This company hires quality workers to lay down a quality roof. I also appreciated the owner of the company and how clear and honest he was about cost and the length of time it would take to install this roof. His price was very competitive. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

A-1 Roofing was excellent to work with. They were prompt in providing details of what we needed. They assessed our needs timely. We had some damage beyond the singles and they fixed all issues. They worked diligenty and cleaned up afterwards. We only found 2 nails in the lawn, which is amazing.

Took multiple visits to fix problem. Preconceived ideas about where leak was likely to be originating, but it was finally discovered in an unexpected location. Problem is resolved.

It went okay. The contractor made a bit of a mess and asked to use my ladder on two occasions which was odd. The ladder left permanent marks on my wall where I cannot reach by attic access. They also promised pictures I requested of the interior of attic they had taken and showed me on their phones. The work seems to have been done well as the issue has been taken care of.

We think A1 did an excellent job on our roof and gutters. We had seem them work across the street and were impressed at their work ethic and professionalism so we included them in estimates for hail damage work on our roof. James was responsive and even brought a few things to the attention of the insurance company they had overlooked. The roofing crew was amazing on our high pitched roof and did their work efficiently. Ziggy was available for any concerns we might have and in answering our questions. There were a few additional repairs and we thought the charges for these reasonable. The guttering crew was also very good considering issues with a 100 yr old house, also having to do a few additional repairs on compromised wood. We highly recommend A1 and would use them again and will contact them for house painting in the spring. Thanks to A1 for making this messy experience as easy as possible.

A-1 was prompt when other roofing companies would not even come out to give me an estimate. A-1 also returned to do additional work when the leak still persisted at no additional cost (as should be expected).

James and his crew did a terrific job. They were on time and did a great job getting things done in the time frame they promised. Amazing that they could do everything in about one day. After much investigating and interviewing, we went with James and A 1 because of their reviews on Angie's List and especially because his company was located within our own subdivision. His pricing was the BEST vs 6 other competitors and his ability to complete the job won out over all the others. The only two things we'd have liked were to be able to pay with a credit card vs a check but it didn't really matter anyway. The other thing we should have done on our part was to ask for ridge venting vs the box-type venting we'd had in the past. This wasn't A 1's fault but our own. We would recommend James and A 1 to anyone in our neighborhood! Thanks James for an excellent service.

A-1 Roofing Systems was easily one of the best companies I have ever worked with! James from A-1 Roofing was awesome. Healways returned my calls promptly, and if he said he was going to do something, he did it! The day they put on the roof, they arrived exactly when they said they would. The crew was polite and they really cleaned up after themselves. I found very little roofing debris and nails on the ground after they were done. The crew that installed the new gutters did a great job as well. From beginning to end, James made the process easy. He also worked with my insurance company when corrections to the estimate needed to be made. He was a pleasure to work with and I would HIGHLY recommend A-1 Roofing Systems to anyone who needed to have their roof repaired or replaced.

A-1 replaced my roof in 2011. Earlier this year, I had shingles blow off of my roof. I called A-1 to have shingles replaced since roof was only 3 years old. Employee of A-1 came out, observed roof from vehicle and left. Employee later called to say missing shingles were a result of wind damage and because wind damage is not covered under warranty, would cost $300 to replace. Knowing employee didn't get out of his vehicle to make observations (because I observed him pull up and before I could get downstairs, he was gone), I called James Moore, owner, to inquire as to what wind damage was and how that could be assessed from a vehicle. He became irritated during conversation and in the end, refused to make repairs unless I paid $300. A few weeks later, I had two separate inspections done on my roof and both revealed faulty workmanship. In many instances, shingles weren't nailed properly to roof. I sent this information to Mr. Moore via certified mail and requested he make the repairs at no charge to me. Although he received the letter, he never replied. Fearing interior damage due to the exposed areas, I had the shingles replaced out of my own pocket. I had a letter drafted on my behalf by legal counsel requesting reimburesment for charges incurred for inspections and repairs. I still have yet to receive a reply.
