A Danny Phillips Plumbing

We had been experiencing sewage smell in our basement bathroom for quite sometime. We called Danny to see if there was anything we could do. He provided us several options, and gave us an estimate for $1800 to fix a venting issue. The estimate was very reasonable for the work he was going to have to do, so we scheduled him to do the work on 11/29. On the 29th, his wife called ahead to let us know he was running a bit late because he was stuck at the plumbing supply store, which we appreciated. When Danny arrived, he spent a long time talking to us about our options, and helping us figure out the best way to go. We had him begin the work thinking that we'd need a carpenter to come another day and assist with drilling through the basement ceiling, and fishing vent pipe through the kitchen walls into the attic. However, by the end of the day Danny had installed a new check valve, re-plumbed and installed new piping, installed a new sewage pit top, and re-sealed the top. He tested the pump and found no smell, with just the fixes he had done thus far. Because it seemed to be working, he suggested that we try this and see if it solves the smell problem, before we start drilling into the ceiling and creating a bigger project that might not be necessary. So far, with regular use of the bathroom, we have noticed no smell. We really appreciate the good work he did, as well as the fact that he advised us to stop $1000 short of the estimate and work we had already approved. He really did not have to do that, as we were ready to do the full fix. But he gave us honest answers to all of our questions and was obviously concerned with doing only what needed to be done to solve our problem. So far it is working great. We definitely will have Danny help us with any future plumbing issues, and especially if the smell issue crops up again. We're confident that he'll come back out and help us figure out what needs to be done to fix the problem.

very fast at scheduling the job. nice guy. i dont think i got the chance to redeem my Angie's LIst coupon since my wife was home when Danny came and i was not. Danny was upfront about the possibility of him not getting my problem 100% fixed. so, i shouldnt be suprised that it's not 100% fixed. but Danny was honest, nice and professional. i will call him again when i need a plumber.

He did a wonderful job. I had a leaky pipe. He charged only $18 for a part for which another company had quoted about $200. He charged me totally $425. He was very good. I was very impressed with him. He knew how to twist the pipe. He told me what to buy and I went ahead and bought the pressure tank and valve. So, I had the choice to buy the things. He installed them for me. I would use him in the future.

He fixed our water faucet in front of the house. It ended up being a simple fix. He was very honest and up front and he asked my opinion between replacing the faucet or taking it apart. He said the latter would be cheaper, so we went that route. He just took a wrench and loosened the faucet. There seemed to be no issue after that. He made sure it wasn't leaking, and he sealed up the connection since there was open air space between the faucet and the exterior bricks. Again, he was very honest and friendly, and he honored the Angie's List coupon and charged his minimum service charge. He didn't try to make me pay extra or try to replace the faucet to get extra money. He was honest that it might not solve the problem, but the faucet looked new and it seemed to be working. I will do business with him again for my next plumbing job.

It went great. He was on time, did a thorough job without making a mess, and checked carefully to make sure that the new water connections did not leak. He took out the small water heater and disposed of it for me.

When we realized that we couldn't repair our toilet by ourselves, we contacted A-Danny Phillips Plumbing. The receptionist was too cute as she commiserated with our situation and apologized that it would tomorrow instead of today that we would get serviced. The serviceman arrived on time and spent three hours or so fixing the tank. He explained the features of our particular tank and offered to come back if we wanted to address the number of flushes.

Danny was diligent at clearing the drain (and it was a challenge). We were very impressed and will be sharing his information with our friends. Thank you

I had a leaky outside faucet. He provided an estimate and attempted to repair it, but was unable to do so. There was no charge for this work. We agreed that it would be best to replace the faucet, which he did at a later date. I was quite satisfied with his work.

Requested an estimate and approved work to be done on an older toilet. The old flange had worn away and the toilet ran constantly and generic models found in home repair store did not fit. Dan fashioned a make shift model that has worked 100% since he completed the project. He has fast, efficient, honest and reasonable. I will use him again in the future.

It went very well. Our shower was draining normally (it seemed) one night. It had been a bit slow recently, but still draining. The next morning it suddenly stopped draining, and water came up from the drain into the shower. I tried a few amateurish remedies myself, including one of those small little snakes you can buy at a hardware store, but nothing helped. So about mid-morning I called Danny Phillips. We'd used his company before, with excellent results. The very nice lady who answers the phone took my information, called back shortly afterwards, and said Danny would come out within the hour -- he did. He checked the bathroom sink and toilet, decided the problem was confined to the shower drain (and not some more extensive problem), got his heavy-duty plumber's snake, and snaked the drain. He got it completely cleaned out, and now it drains perfectly.

I bought a new dishwasher from Sears. When it was delivered, the Sears contractors could not remove my old dishwasherbecause the tile floor in my kitchen had the old dishwasher blocked in. The Sears contractors did not want to deal with this issue, understandably. I called Danny and described my problem. He said he knew someone who could remove some of my kitchen floor tiles so that my old dishwasher could be removed. I asked Danny and his tile guy to help me out. So less than a week after I called, Danny and the tile guy (Basil Pappas) came to my house. Basil took up enough kitchen floor tiles so that the old dishwasher could be removed. Then Danny installed the new dishwasher and Basil replaced the tiles. My kitchen floor looked just like it had and the new dishwasher was installed.

On Saturday morning, our kitchen sink seemed normal, and it had not gotten slow recently. Suddenly, a couple of hours later on Saturday, it simply stopped draining altogether, and backed up into the kitchen sink. Since it was a weekend, I tried self-help (a snake from a hardware store, then drano), to no avail. Monday morning I called Danny Phillips Plumbing about 8 a.m. (We had used them before.) Spoke to a very nice lady who contacted Danny. She called back within minutes to say that Danny would arrive in two to four hours -- he arrived in two. He went down to the basement and figured out which pipe was which (it's a very old house, with pipes everywhere). He cut out a small section of the pipe and discovered that it was completely clogged with "gunk." He snaked it out, checked to make sure everything was draining properly, and replaced the pipe section with a "clean-out" for any later cleaning use. Danny is a true professional -- friendly, intelligent, capable, and experienced. He worked very hard and the price was extremely reasonable. We'll continue to use him for any plumbing needs.

We noticed a bad leak under the sink on Saturday. Due to the holiday, we couldn't call a plumber until Tuesday morning. I spoke with Danny at 8am and he was here by 11am with a replacement. While he was here, he found a couple of other minor problems under the sink and fixed those too for nothing extra. He was very responsive, thorough, and neat. We will definitely use them again when the need arises.

Torrential rains and a broken sump pump led to a lake in my basement. I phoned Andy Phillips at 7:00 A.M. and left a message. I received a return call about twenty minutes later. He told me that he would pick up a new pump and be at my home in about an hour. In less than an hour he arrived at my home with the proper equipment and installed the new sump pump. It has been working fine. Andy was very nice and took care of the problem. It was the first time I had used this company, which was highly rated on Angie's List with wonderful reports. I was pleased with all aspects of this encounter and would definitely call Andy again the next time I have to call a plumber.

They did very well. I have used them before and so I called him again.

They were excellent and the job was very well done. I would recommend them. They provided good service. Their price was fine. I haven?t got many plumbers out. I have used them several times and I think the price for the last job was about $600.

Danny arrived on time and got to work right away. He had provided an estimate approximately 2 weeks earlier and I liked the fact that he seemed to remember exactly what needed to be fixed from that first visit. After each repair, he would check it, then move to the next item to fix and then circle back to the previous one to check for leaks, etc. He took his time - and did the work with quality. Also - it was easy to find a time on his schedule that worked with my schedule - some of the other plumbers I called had a two week wait.

I have an older house. The fill valve of one of the toilets stopped working properly a few weeks ago so I decided to replace it myself. Then I noticed water dripping under the tank but I could not figure out where the leak was. So I had to call a plumber. I was very happy that I found Danny, who came and replace the chrome nipple and a few other parts. The job was actually more complicated than I thought, and the tight working space certainly made it more difficult. After putting in the new parts, Danny tested and retested to be sure there is no leaking. I am very impressed by his work ethics and professionalism. I'd definitely use his service in the future.

Emailed and established appointment for 10 days ahead. Arrived 45 minutes late but provided advanced notice. Prior to visit provided pre-arrival planning.

He removed the old water heater and installed the new one. He has always done excellent work for us and we would highly recommend him.

The whole process went great. They were able to solve and fix the problem in one day. Some of the detail couldn't be done on the same day so they came back the next to finish. We enjoyed their company and was very pleased with their work. Their hourly chg was $75 so the first day was a little over $1000 and then for the repairs to walls and ceiling and bathroom, was an additional $825. A little expensive but you get what you pay for. We were pleased that they were able to solve our problems. We would ask both of them back if needed.

He came when he promised, did the work carefully, and the results were excellent. The cost was very fair--less than I had expected. He was very pleasant and explained his work very carefully. He is definitely the plumber I will call next time.

Phone communication was courteous and calls were returned promptly, which I really appreciate because that is often not the case. Danny was able to come the next day to take care of the problem. He worked efficiently and took care not to track into the house, by using drop cloths & by wearing shoe covers, as it was snowing. He carefully cleaned out the pipe and made sure to mop up any moisture. I have learned not to put produce down the disposal, as most of it is fibrous!
