A Danny Phillips Plumbing

We were having a new boiler installed and the installer told me we had a pinhole leak that was slowly dripping in one of the overhead water pipes. As the installer removed the old boiler, the leak grew bigger and bigger until finally it was a steady stream of water, at which point the installer told me we needed to get a plumber in. I called A-Danny Phillips Plumbing and Margaret answered, took my information, and told me Danny was on a job but they'd call as soon as they could. No more than 20 minutes later, she called me to tell me that Danny was on his way to my house. He arrived about one hour after I first called, sized up the job, did the repair, and charged what to me seemed like a very fair price. He even voluntarily provided the Angie's List discount without my having to ask! He was finished within three hours of my first phone call, cleaned up nicely after himself, gave us some written recommendations about how to approach the problem we're having with our low water pressure, and even gave a hint or two to the boiler installers who were also working in the basement. I won't hesitate to call this company for my next plumbing job. What a quality company!!

I called looking for someone to come fix a plumbing blockage... I described my situation to the operator and she was very honest and said she thought the problem was a main sewer line issue and they didn't deal with that type of problem. She said she had a great company that could help me. She gave me the name of Commercial Sewer, which turned out to be a phenominal recommendation... And...She was right! It was in fact a main sewer line issue. It would have been very easy for the operator to send someone out from her company, just to collect a service call fee... But she didn't and she saved me time and money by referring me in the right direction.

I got Danny's name on-line from Angie's List just this morning. He had perfect reports and recent reports, unlike some others. I called today around 11:00 am and asked if Danny had time to come by today. I specified that it would have to be after 3:00pm because I would be working until then. Margaret told me she would call me when he was on his way to my house. I had just driven into my driveway when she called. He was here by 3:30. I showed him the work that needed to be done; he was on his way by 5:30. The job was finished, cleaned up and tested before he left. I was pleased. I have no reservations about having talked only with him and proceding to have the work done.

Danny is very skilled and thorough. Price was very fair. He offered good suggestions for how to keep drain problem from recurring. He is a good choice for those, like me, who prefer an independent plumber.

Call this plummer before even thinking about a chain plummers or any other plummer. Futuristic looking new washer box installed. Black mold on drywall from water leak was cut out. He was not satisfied until everything was perfect. I will use him to replace 3 bathroom sinks and kitchen sink. Very impressed. Arrived in 1/2 hour after call. Oh, and he smelled good.

I recently purchased a new home and discovered the bathtub/shower faucet had a steady leaky. Mr. Phillips responded within a day of my calling and quickly repaired the problem. He was friendly, courteous and knowledgable. I expect to call him for a few other plumbing projects in the future.

It was a pretty big job and I could not be happier with his work. Hire this guy and I promise you, you will not be sorry.

Half bath sink was rusting and drain was corroding, kitchen faucet was becoming extremely hard to turn, and master bath drain was corroded. Danny came at 8:30 and almost immediatly began work. He ordered what he needed and had it delivered. He left at 4:40 after checking and double checking all work that he had done.

I was going to change( I've done it before) the whole house water filter but I couldn't get the filter housing unscrewed. I called Danny and he gave me some advice on what to do and to call him back if it didn't work. I tried some more but felt that I was on the verge of doing more harm than good so I called Danny back. He said he would be out when he finished his current job. Danny arrived and was surprised at how tight the housing was. There was an "air lock" in the system and he had try and release as much air as possible by trying a few things. The thing I like about Danny is he didn't try to rush or force the issue. He takes his time thinks things through and does top notch work. Eventually the air lock gave and he was able to change the filter. After putting everything back together Danny had me run some water throughout the house for 10 to15 minutes to make sure no water would leak around the filter assembly. We have used Danny a number of times now and will always call him first when plumbing issues happen. We have used him to install faucets, garbage diposals, to rerouting a kitchen drain line. The work is always top notch and well thought out. I only wish our remodeler had used Danny when we added two bedrooms and two baths to our home.

A very old toilet in one of our bathrooms was leaking water in a steady drip, onto the floor. I called Monday June 21 at about 1 p.m. Their office called me back at 2:50 p.m. and scheduled me for the very next day, late morning or early afternoon, depending on when the plumber finished his morning job. The next day he called at 1:30 p.m. to say he was on his way, and arrived twenty minutes later. He was very friendly and polite. I showed him the toilet and the drip. He suggested replacing the fill mechanism and the shut-off (which was so old you couldn't even turn it off). He set to work right away and finished in less than an hour. I was very satisfied with the result and the price.

Mr. Phillips arrived promptly one day after we called, and although I thought he was there to give an estimate, he ended up doing all of the work that day. He was courteous and knowledgeable, did a great job. The advice he gave us was sensible and reasonable. He did not recommend doing any excessive work, and understood working in an old house. Our experience was completely positive, and we will definately use him again.

This is a very nice company to deal with. From Margeret (sp?) who takes the calls to Danny who did the work it was very pleasant dealing with them. The first job was to replace my main shutoff to the house. The one I had shut the water off but there was still a trickle. When I called, they asked if I knew where the outdoor water company shutoff was. When I did not know, they asked me to have the water company locate it for me and mark it. After that was taken care of, I scheduled the job about 4 days in advance. Danny arrived right on time. It was discovered that the shut off valve on the street was too deep for his key to reach. He had to go all the way from Meridian Hills to the southside to buy a longer key. Once we was able to source one, he called me back and returned later in the day. The job went smoothly. He took care to make sure the area was protected and clean when he was done. This portion of the job cost $275. I told him I was going to replace my outside faucet myself and if I had problems I would call back. After looking at the requirements to replace the outside faucet, I decided that I would be calling him back. I called Margeret in the morning the next day and Danny was going to be available in the afternoon, same day. He replaced my faucet with no problem outside of deciding to re-route some pipes for easier access. I was very happy with the work. This part of the job cost $250.

Plumber was professional and thorough

We returned from a couple of months in Florida to find our garbage disposal not working - it would only hum when we switched it on. I called A-Danny Phillips Plumbing at 11 a.m and Mr. Phillips was at my house at 2 p.m. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it, charged me $90 and told me that if I chose to replace the disposal (it is 13 years old) I could buy a unit or he could buy it for us and install it. The installation charge would be less the $90 he charged me today. Mr. Phillips was timely, polite, considerate of my flooring (he put booties on over his work boots when entering the house) and did not try to hard sell me a new unit. I would certainly call him again.

An appointment was set around my schedule. I was checked with to confirm the appointment. The plumber arrived promptly, he put protective covers over his shoes, he cleaned up after himself. He was prepared and had a part for the shower; which was impressive since I live in an older home. I admitted to not knowing anything about water softeners and he did not try to take advantage of that information by "creating" an issue with the water softeners. He adjusted the settings and told me to see how that works before we tried anything else. If you want friendly, honest and capable A-Danny Plumbing fits the bill.

I called Danny on a Friday to get an estimate on replacing a leaky outdoor spiggot. He arrived within an hour and explained that it could get rather costly because of how the faucet led into the house. While emptying a cabinet to allow him access to the pipes, I discovered a leak under my kitchen sink. He quickly deduced it was the faucet that was the problem. He offered to try to order parts for the faucet, but I was ready to get a new one anyway. He cut a hole in the cabinet to assess the outdoor spiggot issue and warned me that it would be pretty time consuming. He offered to come back the next day, Saturday, at no extra charge to do the work. He came back, bright and early, and literally spent the entire day replacing the spiggot, replacing the plumbing under the sink to copper, and replacing the faucet. All look and work great.

We had our drains unclogged throughout our house. Danny was very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. He also specializes in older homes; so we were pleased with that . We liked him so much the first time he performed services that we had to call him back again. He also arrived early both times. I would definitely recommend his services. Margaret Phillips, the contact, was a pleasure to work with as well.

Woke up this morning to find no hot water. Thought probably thermostats as has happened before with this heater. Called Phillips. They responded in about two hours. Pointed out rust around bottom and evidence of leakage on wood underneath. Heater out of warranty and decided to replace. While awaiting delivery of new heater disassembled and removed old heater, new heater arrived just about the time this was complete. Installation completed in about 4-5 hours. All very professional. (I called Phillips after calling company who installed old heater and have had several times only to find out call now went to service center in PA, desiring only a small local co I turned them down.)

He did an excellent job. He was prompt, professional and courteous. The unit that he brought in needed to be raised and he made sure that it was raised properly. I'm not sure if it was a good price, but he did give us a discount.

They were excellent and we have used them three times. The first time they ran new drainage lines from our kitchen sink to our new sewer line. They had to cut through the ceiling and walls to run the lines. The second time they installed a garbage disposal. I would use them again and again. They are very friendly and very honest. They were very helpful and came at a moment's notice when we were having a major problem. They gave us several different options when we were fixing things. They know their stuff and we would definitely use them again.

Danny Phillips was highly professional and personable. He struck me as having a great attention to detail. I wish all of our problems proved as simple as they looked, but they were not... the running toilet, which is a very old fixture, ended up requiring a whole new internal assembly. As the clock ticked on what became a longer job than expected, I regretted that we had proceeded with repair rather than replacement. He was conscious of this, and struck an hour from the bill at the end without my asking. The drain in the shower turned out to have burst a clogged pipe, which then was dumping into a remote section of the crawl space, which also required far more work than I expected, but necessary. We will have additional work to be done, and will ask him back.

EXCELLENT. DANNY WAS THERE WITHIN 4 HOURS OF CALLING HIM, DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE TOILET LEAKAGE AND LOW WATER PRESSURE TO THE WASH MACHINE, AND WENT RIGHT TO WORK FIXING THE PROBLEMS. HE DID A GREAT JOB, AND DID NOT LEAVE UNTIL HE WAS DOUBLY SURE THINGS WERE CORRECTED, AND I WAS SATISFIED. HE CLEANED UP AFTERWARDS, AND THE ONLY WAY YOU KNEW HE WAS THERE, WAS THAT THINGS WERE NOW WORKING RIGHT.

We had water slowly leaking from our second floor bathroom to the ceiling on the first floor below. Though it was a very slow leak and not an emergency, the plumber came out within two hours. He determined that the leak was likely coming from the water line to the toilet. He replaced the necessary parts. Because our bathtub was draining slow, he also snaked out our bathtub drain. The bathroom where he was working is part of a new addition in which some of the plumbing was not installed properly. He took the extra time to analyze our situation and told us how it could have been better installed. However, since we are getting adequate drainage, he did not recommend that we change anything at this time. In the past, I have dealt with plumbing companies that charge way too much and want to do more work than is really necessary. I believe this company to be trustworthy and reasonably priced. I am very pleased and will definitely use them again.

I was fairly concerned about the leaky valve, as the overflow from my drip pan had already caused damage to my house in the past. I wanted to make sure the valve was fixed asap, and Danny came over immediately. I didn't even have to wait until the next day, and was not charged for an emergency visit. Danny replaced the valve that led to the toilet, and also replaced the entire flush mechanism in the tank. The bolts in the tank had rusted substantially, so he sanded down the rust to be absolutely certain that the seal would not leak. He checked repeatedly to make sure that everything was perfect. He even came about 2 minutes after leaving to double check something he wasn't 100% sure about. I am extremely impressed with Danny's work, and will happily call him in the future for all my plumbing needs.
