The Monday I came in and found the nuts inside the house I brought my personal traps into the house and set them, within 2 hours I had caught 2 piney squirrels so it's not as if it was a difficult job I hired them to do. I've contacted another company in my area that is going to come and seal up the entry points for a fraction of what Shane charges ($185 per crawl space vent). I highly recommend if you have a critter problem you hire a professional so make sure you don't hire A Best Wildlife Removal. I neglected to check Angie's list before hiring this company had I, I wouldn't have even called them. Nothing but bad reviews
Description of Work: I'm a household manager for a family and we have a severe problem with chimpmunks and piney sqirrels. I spend all summer trapping them myself, so I was well aware of the problem. I started hearing them in the crawl space and duct work of the house this fall after my homeowners and their dogs had gone south for the winter. I called Shane and explained to him the situation, making him aware that I trap all summer long. He was the only company that offered to come out the next day and also offered a 10 year guarantee on his work so he's the guy I hired. He sent his wife and son to the property and she walked around showing me things I was already aware of and she had her son set 3 traps. I took her inside the house and showed her the closet I had caught a piney squirrel in the night before she came and she didn't set a trap inside nor did they block any of the crawl space accesses where they had no traps. I'm well aware of trapping laws and was able to check the traps every 24 hours though not always by 9 am as Shane ask. I never had an animal to report so after 4 days I didn't see the need to call and report nothing. After 3 weeks of no activity Shane came and picked up his traps without even letting me know, luckily I heard them pulling out of driveway. They picked up the traps on a friday and the following monday I go into the house to find nuts INSIDE the house. I called Shane and told him and expressed my disappointment in his service, not understanding exactly what they did to earn the $185 that they charged me. he tried to defend his services by saying I broke the contract by not calling them everyday before 9 am. He refused to refund any money and told me I never should have signed the contract. So take it from me and follow Shanes advise to me "never sign the contract" buyer beware. Very unproffesional, doesn't stand behind his work. He has you check his traps, basically doing his job for him and if you don't call to report to him by 9 am your in breach of contract. I have ask who's performing the service in a situation like that.

Would not use again due to problem of not sealing up the hole to allow raccons to get into house.
Description of Work: We had raccoons in attic and crawlspace. They were the only company who could come out the day we called. They set up 2 cages and caught 2 raccons the first and second day. Then caught the mother the third day. The babies were still in the attic and they made holes in drywall to catch them. The babies fell thru the hole they made into the bedroom and were there all night until they came and captured them the next day. They should have sealed up the hole to make sure they could not get into the house before they left.

This company is totally unprofessional. The problem was an animal(s) in the attic of my mother's house that was destroying security system wiring. They did not go into the attic to a**** the situation. Shane immediately said that it was raccoons and that insurance would pay for the repair of the damage. He had his wife set a raccoon trap in the back of the house on the patio and put a squirrel trap in the gutter near the hole in the soffit. He said that my elderly mother was to call him the next morning to report if there were any animals in the traps. The next morning the large animal cage had a cat trapped in it. When he arrived the next day, I insisted that he go into the attic to evaluate the droppings that were there to determine what type of animal was getting in. His wife finally got in the attic and looked around. He was not going to put a cage in the attic until I insisted. He also put a second trap for squirrels in the guttering. We finally caught two squirrels at two different times. He charged $85 for each animal plus an initial service charge of $145 for removal of the squirrels one of which was removed by a neighbor. He accused the neighbor of breaking his trap which was false. I would never recommend these people. They are more interested in filing insurance claims than professionally removing animals.
Description of Work: The request was to remove any animal(s) that were getting into the attic of my mother's house. Two squirrels were caught in traps placed in the guttering.

They offered a great price and a senior citizens discount which is what lured us to them after having called around to several listings from the phone book. A husband and wife team who looked like they were out for a Sunday drive came out to look for animal access points and give us a quote. We assumed that they were just estimators and would send a more professional technician to get into our attic and remove the racoons. Not even close...they came back and set up 1 old raggedy cage in our back yard baited with donuts and that's it. They claimed to have removed 6 full size (like 40+lbs each) male raccoons, charging her for each one plus an up front contract fee. I began to question if they were just releasing the same one in the neighborhood and then recatching it. I mean really...6 fully grown male raccoons in one attic and then there are still more up there...sounds really fishy to me. They said " we make all our money from the attic cleanout and house repair when we bill your insurance" and that is what they continued pressuring my mom to authorize them to do without a work estimate or anything. When she informed them we were getting a licensed contractor to do that work, they lost interest in doing anything else further to get the job done of removing the animals. They weren't even professional enough to come back and get their old trap for weeks. I'm really ticked that they took my elderly mother on a fixed Social Security income for six hundred dollars and she still has the same problem. Don't fall for this unqualified outfit because of the low price. It'll end up costing way more when you have to pay someone else to finish the job.

Misrepresented himself as licensed and bonded when he was not. Left two dead raccoons in attic that he said were not there-a second contractor found them in "plain sight" and removed them. Also pulled a loose wire that required me to have an electrician come out and do repairs. Wanted $2,000 for 90 minutes work. Paid him $450 to make him go away. This guy is a DISASTER

I have worked with other animal removal company in a past and never had such a painful and unpleasant experience. Squirrels were removed, I was invoiced and paid for the service - both parties were happy. I believe it is my duty to prevent other Hoosiers of that kind of disappointment.
Description of Work: In a middle of Oct. 2008 I called this company and an owner of the company visited my house for initial conversation and estimation. $145. I explained to him that I hear noise in my attic above my garage and pretty sure that we have squirrel problem. He sat up a trap at the opposite corner of the house. In a few days the food was removed from the trap by some animal that escaped. The larger trap was set up and I was explained that I have BIGGER than squirrels problems: raccoons or opossum and until those captured the squirrels cannot be captured. Indeed a 1st raccoon was captured ($65). Then opossum ($65). I really had a problem with taking care of ALL of the animals in my neighborhood and was trying to communicate that they were not my problem, SQUIRRELS were. The way I was talked to can be described like "you, woman, have no clue what you are talking about!" I was also explained that my squirrels were smart ones, and they are not going to end up in a trap as they know better (experienced and educated squirrels!). Arrogant and obnoxious behavior of the owner of the company was not extended to his communication with my husband. I particularly asked not to visit our house when my husband is out (i.e. working hours) - sure enough that is exactly when the visit was paid, and the note was left that I had requested an attic inspection in middle of working day. I decided to break the contract as I received the service I did not ask for. I was more than happy to pay for squirrels removal, not any other animals that never bothered us before.

He came out and kept insisting it was a squirrel. He set some traps to try to catch the animals. He set one of the roof and one on the carport. He was to charge us $95 for the service plus $50 for each animal he caught. So, we ended up catching one squirrel, but that was not our problem. We didn't want to keep paying him to keep catching squirrels, so we stopped using him.
Description of Work: We hired him to remove some raccoons from our attic.

They used cruelty-free traps and no-kill methods; they took the animals far away but set them free. I was highly impressed with their professionalism as well as their consideration for the wildlife involved. They insisted that the traps be checked daily to prevent the animal from suffering w/o food, and came to remove the animals promptly after they were caught.
Description of Work: Set traps for and removed three opossum that were living in my attic, and made recommendations on what repairs were needed to prevent further wildlife from infesting.
