123 Steps General Contractors did a great job and we continue to admire their handiwork. They performed the work on time and were professional and terrific to work with. We would hire them again.

We had 2 bathrooms done for $1,499 each with the deal Luis was running (we supplied the ceramic tile and grout). We already tore out a small shower stall, so Luis installed floor-to-ceiling tile and created a tile base for the drain. In the other bathroom he took out the old tile and fiberglass tub and replaced it with new tile and a steel tub. Complaints: When Luis came out to give a quote, he kept talking to my husband and asking what he thought even though my husband was busy with the baby and *I* was the one who called him, *I* was the one in charge, *I* was the sole homeowner, and *I* was the buyer of the deal. Then after the job was done, there was a noticeable large bulge in one of the walls that hadn't been there before with the old drywall and tile, but Luis PRESSURED me into not insisting that he fix it. In retrospect I wish he had because it bugged me every day after that (once you see a problem, you can't unsee it). I had a few complaints, like numerous bubbles in the tile especially edging the bullnoses that he had the crew come back and fix, and I pointed out that they wet the grout before they put the silicone around the spout so it was forever very noticeably dark red under the clear silicone (and looked like streaks of blood or rust). Finally, they mixed up which bathroom got which grout colors even though we left everything in piles in the other room - lighter was supposed to go in the stall, darker in the tub tile for a nice contrast (by the time Luis came out to see, the crew had put all the supplies in the same pile). Luis PRESSURED me again into not asking him to fix it because he claimed I had no proof they'd mixed it up and was I REALLY SURE they'd mixed it up?! When I said I was still unhappy, he tried to tell me how big of a bother it would be to us to fix the grout colors. He offered no discount to compensate. I was so upset I sent him away rather than deal with that kind of pressure and gas lighting. The crew was really nice while they were working and that's the only reason I didn't give the Professionalism rating a solid F.

They have been here for about two weeks. The price was really good. They have done really good work. They are not so good on punctuality. The contractor had some family issues he had to deal with so I was just waiting. He is doing a good job. The workers are friendly.

The only negative is they (way) over estimated the amount of supplies I needed (custom color paint) two gallons I can not use and can not return. Also told me to buy a 5-gal container of primer & barely used even 1/2. I would hire again but would not buy the amount of supplies suggested. I would much rather go out & buy on an "as needed" basis.

Fabulously! This is the smartest operation we have had the priviledge of knowing. Luis Zavala has a very analytical and ordered mind. He approached our problem like a well schooled engineer. Then, after making the right decision on how to procede, the construction work was done neathly and expediciously. My husband and I feel fortunate to have found them and will most certainly not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Fabulous! This is a family business and all members of the family were responsive and professional. Our shower looks amazing and is very well done.

Without question, Luis is the most talented contractor we have ever worked with. He, and his family, helped us conceive the plan and then see it to completion. They are super professional, polite, and they can do everything including plumbing and electrical. We have been soooo happy with their work and I would recommend them to anyone.

As far as I know the sliding glass door is fine. There hasn't been enough time to make sure the dishwasher is working properly. The counter top is ruined. The end cap and the counter top are not joined correctly and there is a scratch on the counter top and a cut on one end. He said there would e a seam but that it would not be noticeable, and it is very noticeable. I would have gotten a custom one if I had known. My counter top is hideous. He sent pictures to me from a distance. Then, we looked more closely we saw it didn't match up properly. The counter top needs to be totally reinstalled.

Owner came out. Checked the situation, gave us three repair options. He said done in maybe 5 days. They were done in 2 days. Had to completely dismantle 3 walls and a half wall of tile. Replace dry wall. Repair hole in floor. Of course take out metal tub & shower doors. Replaced everything with new we picked out at Loews. And included the replacing of the tile on floor beside the tub. (previous owner left extra in garage). Looks great!

The work went very well. Luis came out right after I purchased the deal to take a look at the project and give me a quote for the work that wasn't included in the deal I purchased on Angie's List. There were no surprise costs, and the install guys were very patient as I scrambled to find a shower threshold that I liked. I also asked them to raise the showerhead, which they did free of charge. Although there are a few little spots where the grout or caulk isn't perfect, overall I am very pleased and would hire them again if we need additional work done.

Whenever Luis and his sister were in charge, the work was A quality.

Luis and his crew were very courteous and respectful of our time. They were careful to limit interruptions and took steps that prevented damage to our home during renovations. They worked long hours in order to get the project done on time. Work was done to our satisfaction and on time. The tile work showed great skill and pride in their work. We would highly recommend 123 Steps. Thank you Luis for a job well done. You and your hard working crew exceeded our expectations.

They were pretty slow. I probably wouldn't use them again. They could improve communication. I didn't ask for new faucets and I caught them putting in new faucets. That was not on the agreement. I also wanted some shelves in the bathroom and they couldn't do it. They butchered it up.

The work was done quickly and professionally and we are very happy with the services provided!

Excellent work. Luis father in law and hisdaughter did most of the work. They were very professional andmeticulous in what they didthey cleaned up every day I couldn't have been happier wit the entire project

Wonderful! Luis and his team are excellent at their jobs, they are timely and professional. They have great attitudes and keep you informed on everything that is being done. They did an Awesome job, I am very happy with the work performed!

Great! Luis gave me the estimate. There were no hidden costs at all. Whenever possible I prefer the estimator & the installer are the same person. The terms of the deal were very specific. Luis returned to perform & supervise the job. (He had a very capable assistant named Pedro who was also very professional.) Luis was also on site for the vast majority of the work. (He left once or twice briefly to get materials needed for the job.) They arrived on time as scheduled & started work promptly. They were very careful to protect my carpeting. They were also very careful to minimize the amount of dust generated by tearing out the shower. I didn't see any significant piles of dust or debris accumulate. They were very focused on the job-I don't recall them taking any breaks when I was there. Luis was very responsive to my messages (He seems to prefer phone conversation v emails). I wouldn't hesitate to call Luis again.

Very Well. Luis and crew did an excellent job of trying to keep the dust and dirt level down. They paid attention to the details that I wished to occur. Work Craftsmanship exceeded some of other companies I have used in the past. I am happy with my updates and in fact asked them back to work on a new laundry room area that I wanted on the main floor.

When they showed up, they were extremely professional and did a good job putting prepping for the job by installing plastic barriers and floor coverings. During the demo process 123 step contractors accidently hit a water valve which ended up causing water damage to the ceiling and the carpet in the room below. They did respond quickly by to the damage by ripping out drywall, bringing in dehumidifiers and industrial fans. Ultimately they ended up replacing the ceiling drywall and also replaced the carpet pad. All of this delayed finishing the bathroom by a week. Installation of the new tile went well. The installer did a great job cutting and laying the tile. I was satisfied with the overall job; however there were some small bathroom details that could have used more attention.

I am moving in to a new house. I wanted a few projects done. It included the bathroom and kitchen. When he initially showed up I was there, and he told me he would be done in one week. I had already purchased all the materials. He started working on the bathroom, which is not very large. It was him the first day, but everyday after that he sent an "apprentice." The bathroom ended up taking his helper the whole week. I was not very pleased with that. The bathroom was leaking before, so he changed the tub floor. When he put in the new fixtures, he did not tighten them enough so now everything is leaking again. The new tiles in the bathroom are marble, so now since there has been standing water on them they will have to be pulled up again to fix the water damage. Every time I send a text message, he responds back with an attitude. He told me "When you are not stressed out, then maybe he will come back and fix it." I bought a $120 gift card from Lowe's in case he needed anything, and he never bought anything with it. He also never returned the card when he was done. I am very unhappy with the service he provided, and I will never use him ever again.

Luis came out promptly to look at our bathroom and he emailed his estimate in just a couple of days. He and his crew started the job on time, were very courteous, worked hard, and cleaned up after every day. There was an issue with our existing plumbing and Luis had a family emergency that delayed the project a day or two but they finished and it looks wonderful! We haven't had any problems or issues. We are considering a kitchen remodel soon and will definitely call Luis again. Very pleasant and easy to work with!
