Description of Work: We bought a "big deal" to have two ceiling fans and/or light fixtures installed. They installed one ceiling fan and one light for us. We had to purchase and supply the fan and light fixture for them to install. There was a problem with the light fixture in the sense that we purchased the wrong one for the available outlet in our ceiling. They were incredibly helpful in suggesting a better model for our room. They also sent somebody to install it for us on another day when working in our area and did not charge us for the extra visit. This bought tremendous goodwill on our part and we are looking forward to working with them on other projects that we have pending.

Description of Work: I replied to an offer for 3 hours of drywall for $89 and had an employee come out to give me an estimate 30 minutes late and had to leave to go to a doctor's appointment. However, I was confident that he knew I wanted him to spend 3 hours (that was he deal) repairing as much of two damaged walls in he kitchen. After his work was comple, I would then decide if I wanted to hire for more work. I have written correspondence saying that I did not need anything for the repair that was to be performed and then I received a phone call stating that I would need to purchase my own mud (which I had thought was the case). The gentleman could not tell me the name of the product I was supposed to buy, only that it was at Lowe's with a green lid. So, the day before work was to be done, I went to Lowe's and was directed to drywall mud in a white container with a green lid. The next day when the employee came to perform the work, I was told it was the wrong product and that he would have to go to the store to exchange it so that the work could be done and that I would be paying for his time to go and buy the mud out of the 3 hours that I have contracted. At that time I told him I would prefer not to have the work done. | |Stay away from the emails from Angie's List that bait you with a deal that is too good to be true because "they" only want to get in your house to get you to spend more money than the offer. | |I am still in the process of disputing this charge with my credit card company because they refused to issue a refund for work that was never performed.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal for 3 hours of dry wall work. I needed four small cutouts of dry wall repaired that were taken out to install lighting. The individual explained that the deal was only for one trip and the dry time of the mud would take several hours so he could only do one coat of tape/mud but I would get a discounted hourly rate for the rest of the work needed (sand, mud, sand, mud, sand). The job took less than an hour and I was quoted 2 hours+ for the remaining work at $75/hr, which didn't seem like much of a discounted rate considering the price of the first three hours. Paying twice as much as the original 3-hr deal to finish the job (when most dry wall jobs will obviously need a return trip) felt much like a bait-and-switch kind of deal in the end. On a positive note, the work was done well and the individual that performed the work was very professional. The "deal" as a whole just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Description of Work: Well Done Handy Man is a great service provider. There was a small scheduling mix up with my appointment, and when I called to get it cleared up, the folks at Well Done were SO responsive and took full ownership on the minor mixup. They had someone at my house the next day to complete my service request. It is rare to have a service provider with such authenticity and intentionality in the way they conduct business. The quality of the final service was fantastic. There is no doubt I will use Well Done Handy Man for future needs!

Description of Work: This company caulked all of my windows outside. In addition, it was recommended that I have some brickwork sealed as well.

Description of Work: I ended up paying more than $99 for the two fans. The fans had a remote feature which they couldn't install, and furthermore, I found that one of the remote mechanisms couldn't be found after they left. When asked, I was advised to call Costco and request an "extra" remote!!!
