I wanted a stamped concrete patio, which Tom doesn't do, but he was very helpful in providing me with information and connecting me with another contractor. I appreciate his time and knowledge.

He was excellent. We can say enough about him. He has a lot of integrity in what he does. In fact, last year when we had our concrete patio removed by him and he was going to pour a new one. He had this guy first time on the job that was working for him. First day on the job, I guess he got a little mouthy with our neighbor across the street for some reason so Tom wasn't around. I think he was at lunch or something. When he came back and he found out about it, he fired the guy on the spot. He said that his reputation is important to him. He cant have someone like that, the guy is representing him. That is his business and he fired him. I was impressed so he called his son. One of his sons work in Chicago and he does the same kind of work only for commercial. He came and he helped him and another son that is younger came and helped him. He is unbelievable. He is fantastic. I didn't realize it but my mother died in 2012, when my parents had their home, they had their home built in the 50's. Unfortunately, they built it by a swamp. This was in the mid 90's. I came across cancelled checks, they had basement concrete work done to reinforce. My husband remembers they took out inches worth of concrete along with the perimeter of the basement. When I came across the cancelled checks, of all people I didn't realize it was Tom also. That did the work for my parents back then. He did a fantastic job, back then I can not rave enough about him. He is just unbelievable. He is fantastic, August 1 was starting on our garage floor in 2015. Last year was our patio. He had to take out our front step that was not code. It was narrow, 2 narrow steps. His son actually came up with putting a large pad instead of 2 steps out the back door. That worked out fantastic. Our dog has retina problems. That was a whole talk with him about what we can do with these steps to help our dog. So the son came up with this and boy, it worked out so great. It is great. I can put a ladder on there. Over the door and can work with the gutters and stuff like that. He is great. The patio was 23 feet long by 200 feet wide.

It went great. They all were professional and gave 100 percent every day. Tom worked very hard to make the pitch right and he did. He said he liked a challenge. He got one here! Turned out beautiful and we are very pleased.

Great, he was there when he said he would be, got in and took care of the job.

Excellent. Tom and is crew/family absolutely nailed it. Tom made me feel comfortable and took the extra time necessary to walk through my vision of what I was trying to accomplish both right now and in the future. Outstanding mix of expertise, professionalism, and good old fashioned straight up good dude from the beginning to end. I would highly recommend Tom's construction to anyone.

Service was great. They were able to pour the patio earlier than expected. Patio came out very nice. Very happy with their work.

Tom and his team were always on time and there when they said they would be. They did everything they said they would do and more. They were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Tom again. I plan to have them back later this fall or in the spring to pour a sidewalk and patio. Customer service at it's best!

I was not able to work with Tom because of the distance. I am way up north in Mundelein and Tom doesn't travel that far. However, I would like to say that Tom was very nice and informative. Even though he couldn't service my project, he was extremely forth coming about what I should look out for from other contractors that bid my job. I would recommend Tom just from the fact that he took 20 minutes of his time to give me the "Contractors 101" class of what to look for in a contractor and what type of materials I should expect to see on my job.

Tom was flexible and accomodating with change orders and project scope changes.

My experience with Tom's was exceptional, they were very honest and thorough from start to finish. All of my questions were answered upfront and there were no surprises, I was very pleased with their work. The owner is a great guy and he works as hard as everyone on his crew.

I sent him pictures and he responded quickly. He was not able to do the work but he gave me a lot of advice and information and told me I was welcome to call with any questions or concerns I might have when talking with other contractors.

It went well. Tom was good as keeping us informed on the changes to the start date due to weather. They found a drainage issue once the job was started but came up with a cost effective solution. A little more clean up on our part than I would have preferred but I wouldn't hesitate to hire Tom again.

We were very pleased with the work and clean-up. We recommend.

Tom was fantastic. He patiently looked at all of my areas of concern and explained what was going on and how to do many things that we could do ourselves. Being a new home owner, he put my mind at ease about my concerns. He's an honest person that will help you get things done the right way. He recommended that we complete some things before replacing the driveway so I could not hire him to do work at this time. The information he gave me was thorough and professional and he gave me the knowledge I need to get things in shape properly. Thanks so much!

Overall, we were very happy with his work. He worked very hard despite the heat, very impressive. We had our driveway done a while back by a different company and there is now a crack in our driveway, it has been a month since Tom did his work and so far so good. I would highly recommend Tom and his company to anyone else in the Chicago area.

Tom and his crew delivered exactly what Tom promised. He LOVES strong coffee and I am pretty sure he would have worked for the coffee we made for him. (just kidding- he does love strong coffee though) Tom made my husband and myself feel like his family. He treated our property like his own. Whenever I had or have any questions, he responds immediately. He kept us informed of the delays we would have due to inclement weather. He personally wiped our white pvc fence down after the pour to ensure no damage was done. He will he doing more work for us in the future! Thanks Tom, Ron, and the rest of the crew! The concrete looks awesome and we really are enjoying the new yard!!!!!

Tom is a dedicated contractor who is passionate about cement, and his customers. He took us to 'cement school' by answering all our questions about gravel thickness, cement thickness, ground slope, etc.,and poured not only the replacement parking pad but also made suggestions to include a small cement patio adjacent to the parking pad that proved to be a huge deal for my wife who always wanted one. The cost savings of having Tom do it while his crew and the materials were already on the site was obviously significant. One particular challenge was how to haul cement up a 150' sloped asphalt driveway without destroying it with the weight of a 30 ton cement truck. Tom suggested a 'cement buggy' which was much lighter and allowed the cement to be hauled to the site without doing any damage to the asphalt driveway. I'd recommend Tom for any cement projects you might have.

It went very well. They were able to start the project in a timely manner and completed the project in about a week. We have plans for him to return for a few other small jobs we need completed.

All went great! All the details would only include that Tom and Ron are very professional, very reasonable, and just plain very good. If you want someone to do a great job, Tom's the one.

Tom & Zach power-compacted stone base (grade 8, 4" min.). The old garage floor was a difficult removal due to rebars & unknown chicken wire in the flooring. All debris was hauled away from the job site & was broom clean. Also, we went with a 7-bag Hi-Early Mix in the garage and driveway ($200 extra charge, but worth it) so we could drive on it 3 days. It was the hottest day of 2015 - in the 90's & Tom, Zach, & Ron worked w/o stop because the 7-bag mix hardens quickly; excellent job. They put in a wire mesh in the garage floor and a vapor barrier, since the garage is attached to the house. Our front walkway dropped over the years which resulted in the front step being 11" H (against Code & a safety hazard). They took out a section of the concrete walkway and re-poured a new section of walkway leading to the front step which brought the front step down from 11"H to 5-1/2"H - safer & meets city Code. Ron also noticed the pre-existing walkway from the street to the front door is not a straight walkway, but is a meandering curve & kept the curve up to the finished edge of the front step - we appreciated Ron's attention to this detail w/o us bringing it to his attention. Because we had the cement truck for our work, Tom took care of a neighbor whose sidewalk was damaged by NICOR at the side of her home at a nominal cost to her; she was very happy with their work. Because of a wetter than normal May thru August, 2015, the garage floor, driveway, & walkway concrete work was pushed back to September, 2015. We are going to have Tom and Zach remove our 55+ yr. old concrete slab patio that is cracked and re-pour a new patio and correct the pitch. The patio will be replaced with a stamped concrete design and new back steps that meet city Code & we'll give a review when it is completed. Because of our experience in 2015, we would not hesitate to recommend Tom Burke and his highly skilled & professional associates. They did a superior job under very difficult conditions; very impressed.
