Apex Construction & Remodeling

The bathroom remodel was in April 2018. The job was finished one day later than described and that was unavoidable because I live in a very old house. Larry and Augie were absolute gentlemen, talented and skillful, and the job was cleaned up every day before they left. They arrived on time, took their lunches and breaks nearly to the minute and kept me informed every day of what was happening. The family room remodel will be completed next week when the bar top is installed and this job went exactly the same as the bathroom. Tommy and Eddie were also complete gentlemen and also very skillful and creative because in this old home creativity was a necessity to overcome some obstacles. Andy, the project manager, continually made his presence known and I felt very comfortable contacting him for any thoughts or questions I had. I would most definitely use Apex again.

They responded quickly and did a good job. They were a little expensive, but I will use them, again.

The job went very well. We have worked with Apex before (kitchen remodel, new roof with skylight replacement, main staircase replacement) and have complete confidence in all aspects of the work that Scott's company provides: expertise of his workers and sub-contractors, quality of the materials, ease of communication with the company, no surprises about cost and time-frame. After the job is completed and there is some kind of problem that arises, Scott will be there to deal with it. When we need work on our house, Scott is our go-to contractor!

This company is less than 10 minutes from Gary Indiana. I was told that they don't do estimates in Gary. I called Service Doctor in Hobart and Steel City Home Improvement Company and Home Depot out of Merrillville.

This company falls over backwards for you! Starting with the owner Scott. He bent over backwards to get the remodeling done before Christmas. It was done Dec. 23rd! The workers Ken and Albert was so considerate, pleasant and helpful. I have two handicapped people living here and they went over and above to lend a hand with them! They helped one bring laundry upstairs. They helped get my husband into the SUV when it was icy outside. They put some salt down for me and so much more! They were very concerned and caring about their workmanship! They arrived on time and left in a timely manner. They were keeping us informed about there progress. We had to wait some on the door and in the meantime they put in a plastic curtain so that the shower could be used. Augie and Edger put the door in and were pleasant as well. They used Adams Plumbing for the plumbing work and I feel bad I don't remember his name, but he too was awesome! Very pleased with their work! I would definitely use them again!

I cannot say enough positive things about this company. The crew (Augie & Edgar) were outstanding!! They were courteous and friendly. They showed up on time each morning and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each day. The quality of the material and workmanship was first rate. A+ company!

Excellent work! Very neat and precise. Had to cut out section of wall for new mirror (plaster) and did an excellent and professional job. Installed new sink and hocked up and cleaned out all water lines. Did blue and white painting on walls and door & window frames. Looks wonderful! Have used APEX on a number of home repairs over the years and just love their work!

Project took two weeks, workers were timely, friendly and excellent. Owner, Scott, was knowledgeable and creative, as we needed to think outside the box on this project (Worked around a slanted ceiling when installing a shower holster and custom shower curtain rod.)

I never got an email. I called Apex on the 22nd and the receptionist told me she would have someone call me back the next day. I got a call today. When I was able to talk to someone, they said they resent the email. I didn't get a thing so I asked for the actual estimate. Once I was told the numbers, I said thank you that was all I needed to know. The lady just hung up. She didn't even say thank you or have a good day. They didn't seem professional over the phone.

The workers were on time and worked efficiently. They were courteous and adapted to whatever changes were made. The quality of the materials and workmanship was first rate. They cleaned up after themselves every day before they left. There was not one single thing I would criticize.

It all started with Andy, when I explained to him my idea for the front entry, both inside and out. He listened and asked all the right questions to make my idea a reality. Somehow he relayed this idea to Eric and Anthony who couldn't be more talented. After 3 days I was blown away with the finished product. I have absolutely no complaints and couldn't be happier with the results. I plan to have Apex back to our home for future remodeling projects.

They were friendly, efficient, amazing is the best word for a crew who knew exactly what they were doing. they cleaned up after themselves everyday and honestly I cannot say enough positive things about them. they were ALL AWESOME. Our main contractor Rusty was a pleasure, he listened and did everything I asked him to do. They took the dread out of construction.! I would recommend this company and it's workers to anyone who wants excellent work done quickly and efficiently. they performed miracles at our older home. they were done in 8 working days, like I said they were amazing. Call Apex they will do it right the first time!!!!!!!

We have had several quotes to remodel a bathroom, and this company's prices are far and away significantly higher than the competition. I am sure they do beautiful work. I have had friends use them, and are very happy. If you have money to burn, and want things done well, quickly and professionally, go for it. We are looking for a better deal, and I am confident we can find a company to do a good job for much less.

They've done some tiling for us and some remodeling. I highly recommend them. They're very good. They're reliable and do quality work. We've never had any issues with them. Whatever you need for construction, they're able to do it and schedule it. We haven't had a problem with scheduling. If they say they're going to be here, they're here. They do what they say they're going to do and their work holds up. They're professional and meets your expectations. They're experienced. We've been using them since 1992. We had the bathroom redone and tile laid. We've had electrical work. There are contractors who have lower prices, but for the peace of mind, I go with them.

I found Apex on Angie's List. I had contacted several others (also on the list) but Andy Kerman from Apex was the only one to respond and arrange a face to face meeting. Andy met with us several times and we kept in contact mainly by email and phone. Andy was always quick to respond to my messages and honestly answered all our questions. He assigned us some "homework" to do regarding picking out fixtures, floor and wall tiles.This helped us to have an "investment" of time and effort in the project. I was also an invaluable learning experience to see what was available in today's marketplace. Apex crew members Albert and Kyle removed all the fixtures and debris & cleaned up as they went along. Since this is the only bathroom they had to make arrangements to keep a functioning toilet as soon after demolition and sub-floor repairs would permit. They also made sure that the water supply was not interrupted any longer than was necessary. Toilet function was maintained throughout the course of the job. Apex installed 3/4 plywood and half inch cement board as well as a new tub-shower unit, commode and pedestal sink. New in-wall mounted medicine cabinet and over the john storage cabinet. Tile was installed on the floor and walls (up 45 inches from floor). The existing door was removed. The inside casing was replaced and hall side casing was (carefully) removed to be reinstalled. A new door and inside casing were installed and window jamb extension with trim. The door side facing the hall was stained and finished to match up with the existing woodwork. The match was done extremely well and matches the 60+ year old trim almost exactly. Because the bathroom is small, there were some challenges regarding installation of larger components. However, the Apex crew handled them quickly, quietly and systematically. They never showed any uncontrolled frustration even when things were very tight. Bert and Kyle were always on time and worked the entire time they were here except for a short break in the morning and lunch. They were always courteous and answered any questions. They also provided guidance when questions arose regarding placement of some secondary items.

My husband and I were very pleased with our family room remodel. All work was completed on time and within the quoted estimate. Augie and Edgar are an excellent team! Very professional and extremely polite. They arrived on time every day ready to work. Augie and Edgar removed 17 feet of wall, installed a 17 foot support beam. Augie reconfigured our electric and canister lights including a few Zwave light switches, and realigned our ceiling fan. Edgar did an excellent job repairing the drywall where the ceiling and walls were removed. It looks seamless! Throughout the process they cleaned up all debris as they worked and made sure at the end of the day, that the job area was ALWAYS left very clean and tidy. They did a great job in preventing any debris or dust from getting into other areas of our home. Their level of professionalism was top notch! I would, without any reservation, recommend Apex for your home remodeling needs. This is our second home project with Apex and we look forward to working with Apex for our home remodeling needs in the years to come. Extremely pleased! -- Diana

After a couple of calls I was told they wouldn't be able to get to me until the Fall because they were extremely busy. However, after a week they called to say they could actually fit me in. I was thrilled! Albert from Apex Construction arrived on time as he said he would and did a great job of replacing a section of drywall in my garage. He even patched some holes elsewhere. He added the insulation, replaced the drywall, mudded it, taped it and in the end it looks seamless! He even added a piece of wood near the water spicket to keep it in place and cleaned up after the job. Best of all there were no surprises when I received the invoice as it agreed with the quote. I recommend and definitely would use Apex again.

They did a good job. I give them an A overall!

This is the 3rd time in the last 16 months I have used Apex for a renovation. First our master bathroom, then for our great room and kitchen and now for our 2nd bathroom. I have yet to be disappointed.

it went very well, job well done. I was pleased with the way they cleaned up every day before the left and protected the rest of the house from the dust. I also had them to come back and install two entry doors and storm doors.

I like that they did what they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves and were efficient. They hauled everything away. It was nice quality work. They were also very polite and professional.
