Alan Fleek’s crew were professional, thorough, and fast. They completed the replacement of the old eroded stucco board & trim with stucco-look-alike fiber cement Hardy board & composite trim boards in 3 days on my 3200 sqft 3-story home, allowing it to retain its Tudor styling. The result looks great, and the crew was thorough in their clean-up as well. Alan Fleek kept me informed on his progress on obtaining the materials, given shipping uncertainties due to Covid and labor shortages. His price was reasonable, and again, we are extremely pleased with the result. Thank you, Alan Fleek and crew!

.
Description of Work: Rebuilt deck (approx 550 sq ft deck. Replaced all deck boards, all top railing boards, and replaced most of the boards that the spindles attach to at the top. Dug down about 1 ft in the flower bed, cut rot from bottom of all skirt boards and framed with new 1x6. All aforementioned work has been completed. Approximate cost of service above also includes cleaning and staining (two coats). Cleaning and staining hasn't been completed yet. Everything completed to date went really well. The crew (5 guys) started on Thursday afternoon and were completed by the following Monday (no weekend work). The quality of the carpentry was great, and the area was cleaned and all the old deck materials were hauled away. I highly recommend Alan and his team of guys.

It went very well. He returned later to touch up the paint, no problem for this guy to make sure everything is exactly right. He also worked his schedule for the job to allow for my husband to replace a tile that had been cut around the old door frame. The way he installed the rod & shelf to still allow use of the ceiling access panel was really nice. I think maybe the price is a little high, but I have to admit I didn't get other quotes this time. We both love the closet.
Description of Work: Closet remodel in master bedroom. Original closet size was length of wall with doors that were considerably more narrow. Both ends of the closet were difficult to reach and not very usable. Alan blocked off the end of the closet by the bathroom and inserted a linen cupboard with access from the bath. He then put in a longer rod, using a method that allowed for removal in case of need to use access panel in ceiling. The wider doors allow for access to all but a couple inches of closet at either end. Overall, creating much more useable space.

This contractor is excellent. My room is perfect, exactly what I wanted. Alan is the best when it comes to listening to what is wanted, working with limitations, and coming up with unique design solutions. All of the work and materials were of the best quality. This room has 4 skylights and 22 windows with cedar and fir wood interior. The exterior matches the rest of the house perfectly. I am very happy with all of the design details: the colors of the wood, the choice of windows & doors, the peak of the ceiling, and so on. He easily overcame several problems discovered during the work, including the roof and chimney. The shingles on the roof would not seperate for adding the new section, so he re-roofed an entire side of the house so that our 50-year warranty would not be impacted. Problems with the chimney were internal and so unknown to us - he corrected what could have turned into a safety issue. I will not hesitate to call Alan for any new work that arises. Of course, no one is perfect so here's where there is probably room for improvement. First, most contractors are terrible when it comes to communicating and Alan is not much better. While he was always responsive to any call or question, we did not always know when workers were going to appear. Once they showed up a day earlier than expected, at 6:45 in the morning. At other times, I became aware of men walking around the house when the pets became alarmed or when jolted by a sudden loud hammering. We also had landscapers come walking around on Memorial Day. Secondly, the safety practices of some of the crews were alarming. Men would lay boards across their toes and then use a saw to slice off the board. The fumes from the interior finishing seemed strong enough to cause impairment but no masks were used. Since these practices were not my liability I tried not to watch, but it still caused me to worry sometimes. Thirdly, there were a lot of delays, some of which were not his fault. We signed the proposal on the 9th of March and the work was estimated to finish the end of April but it was not completed until June 3rd. An entire month of delay was caused by record-breaking rains during the month of April, however some of the delays were the result of scheduling and other issues. Overall, these "problems" were very minor in comparison to the quality of the work. This contractor is terrific and I will be calling him for any future projects. UPDATE: This past summer (2015) we decided to replace the heating/cooling unit with something more energy efficient and were very surprised to find extensive water damage inside the walls, every outside wall. I wish I could figure out how to post the pictures. Fleek came out twice but offered only to slap-dash caulk with silicone and stood by his work. We contracted with another company that took off the cedar siding to discover more water damage and deep cuts in the house wrap. They fixed the house wrap, re-taped around the windows and caulked. The repairs cost us over $1300 and will require periodic maintenance. UPDATE 2: In August of 2016, Fleek resolved this situation to our satisfaction. Instead of relying on silicone on the outside of the siding to prevent water leaks, he has provided for repairs to be made to the underlying problems (a much more involved and expensive repair).
Description of Work: Room addition. We added a sunroom/greenhouse/patio room. My intention is to be able to grow tomatoes year-round so it is a 4-season room. I also wanted to be able to re-purpose to a sunroom if desired. There was nothing to start with so the work started with design all the way through closet shelving installation. I have a very physically-limiting handicap that had to be included in design considerations. There were also issues such as how to get heavy equipment to the building site, neighborhood covenants, and structural limitations.
