I wish I had garage before pictures to show the amazing transformation. The finishing work far exceeded my expectations. Cathedral ceiling cracks and drywall repair is amazing. You cant' tell where patching was done. Patio door is beautiful and really well installed. Painting also well done. One small piece of trim was cut to my satisfaction and it was redone. Bob Popovich and Brian and Oscar and the carpenters for the door were top notch. I will hire them to replace my entry doors this fall. I highly recommend.

The work went a little slower than anticipated but the results were very good. Old houses are full of surprises and mine was no exception. The work team discovered the original art deco bathroom floor under two layers of ceramic and vinyl tile. I decided to keep it and forego the ceramic tile I had chosen to install there. The laborers work hard to remove the mastic from it and brought it back to its original 1930's beauty. They also discovered that I needed to have concrete poured where my bathtub had been to raise the floor level to the grade of the rest of the bathroom floor in order to install my new shower and surround. I also appreciate that Bob Popovich had no reservations about using materials I had already purchased (another company would not do it). When I requested new drywall in my second bathroom in addition to the new ceramic tile floor if was done without hesitation and what I feel was a very fair add-on price. The scope of work included some new electrical, plumbing and fixtures, drywall and painting, hanging of a barn door, as well as installation of a waterproof floating vinyl floor and ceramic flooring. Special thanks to Alvin who went above and beyond the normal scope of work to keep my household functioning as well as possible during the remodel (my dogs loved him too!) In conclusion I would like to say that the other company that gave me a bid was 2 1/2 times higher in price without the inclusion of the second bathroom drywall. It pays to shop and compare.

It went well. The crew showed up early and had it completed in a decent amount of time. Very professional and neat. Did not leave a mess in our yard.

All of the Steel City employees were a pleasure to work with. They were very professional and really cared about the quality of work they delivered. We ran into a couple of unexpected complications which they faced with care and courtesy. I will ask them back anytime I have future projects that need their services.

We had a great experience! Bob was super responsive and completed the project much quicker than they originally estimated. There were a couple little hiccups - an unexpected leak - and the plumber came back that very night to fix it. They were easy to work with and even took the liberty to fix a couple small things they encountered in the house (a sticky door and a wiring issue in the garage door). We can't say enough good things about our experience with them, and are already planning to call them first in the next round of projects at our house.

I had to call twice to get a call back. This contractor came out, spent 15 minutes looking at the work to be done, I was told an estimate would be emailed to me. I've not received an estimate nor has the contractor called me.

It was great. Of course minor things are uncovered during projects, but Bob is the guy you want to have as a general contractor. Why? He is responsive. He always answers his phone and returns calls. This is huge, and if you’ve ever done a remodel project before you’ll know why. If anything comes up, he’ll make it over to check the issue out - in a couple days, not a couple weeks. He’s timely. He won’t give you an unrealistic timeframe. You’ll know what to expect for a turnaround timeframe, and he won’t disappoint you there. I can tell you from working with other contractors that most almost never get their work done on time - not even close. His team is professional and always keeps a neat work area and cleans up after themselves. He uses skilled laborers to complete all tasks properly, and we have seldom found only minor issues with quality and workmanship in all of our projects over the years. Of course nobody is perfect, but the important thing is that every small issue we have ever found has been quickly addressed and fixed. Bob is also a really nice guy. He has offered to help us out in a pinch when other people certainly wouldn’t. His quotes and terms are reasonable - I really just can’t say enough good things about him. We own a commercial property also, and Bob has helped us address just about every issue that has come up there, in addition to 3 remodeling phases at our rental home. Unfortunately, we are going to be moving out of his work area soon, but we HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing a quality construction contractor. We also live in Chicago and have found plenty of quality contractors in the city, but none as responsive as this guy. He’s the one!

When I mentioned that I was not happy with part of the railing the owner was very responsive and it was completed to my satisfaction the next day. Additional parts were needed.

Everything was done professionally and in a timely manner. Bob was concerned that evert hung was to our convenience. Everyone was understanding about our pet and the need for his safety during the work. We highly recommended them.

I couldn't be happier with the product and work performed. Oscar and Sam were punctual, kept the work area as clean as possible at the end of every day and worked well together. Bob was very easy to deal with and I felt comfortable hiring him. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with the whole process. Contacred Steel City on 5/22/2015 came to my home, took measurements and discussed options. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!!! *** UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO PROVIDER*** At the initial time of the estimate you did not give me a ballpark figure. I asked for a general estimate and your response was "I can't give an estimate till I enter the figures" I had another provider come around the same time and had a full estimate in the week he promised. I moved on with my service due to lack of follow up on the part of STEEL CITY HOME IMPROVEMENT CO INC.

Exceeded my expectations. This is the second job for me. Last year a large tree fell through my roof causing extensive damage to my roof, fascia, soffit and gutters. Ed from Kusiak checked the extend of the job and worked with my insurance and the repairs were completed in a timely manner. Their crews were great and left no mess. I would highly recommend this company

It went fine. It was during cold wet weather that I lost the siding to high winds. It took awhile to find a match to the existing siding because it had been discontinued. They brought several samples to me for consideration and final approval. They were able to quickly replace the tyvek and later they replaced the siding (was special ordered and had to wait for a day with warmer temps because of the need to cut siding). Would use them again and they were very professional and customer friendly.

The salesperson who came out gave us a good estimate. He made some good recommendations. He was not pushy about having us sign the contract right away. They did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves.

We will be using this company for any and all repairs, construction, and otherwise in the future. They have an amazing sales rep named Jay. His communication is impeccable, his professionalism is unlike any other. The owner of the company is just as kind and hardworking. They have an amazing team that is great at their work. All of the work done was on point. We walked in each day when they left to see perfection. We even changed the doors to wood doors instead of prefinished. They did it without a blink. I can say that they are a tremendous company and really you can see they have more of a family there than a group of employees. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you for your hard work STEEL CITY we can not thank you enough.

Our home is older and a small project can become a big one very easily. Steel City made everything run smooth and look great in the end. Alvin and Scott did an awesome job.

I was a remodel virgin. I did not know anything about this. Bob and all of his workers were fantastic to work with and in the work they performed. Very personal people and trustworthy. They never made me feel like I was asking dumb questions and always took the extra step in making sure I was happy with all work done. They all went above and beyond what was requested to be done. I did a lot of shopping around for contractors and am so glad I picked them. As a remodel virgin one thing I will advise is to KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. Go to your local box stores and see whats out there before you have Bob quote you. He can only quote you on what you tell him you want. I thought I was a plain person but once I got out there to see whats available I was surprised. I didn't know the different tiles, counter tops, edgings and styles of everything. Bob was always available and responded to all my emails and phone calls. Workers on time everyday, 7 a.m. I think they were fantastic to work with and would not hesitate to call them for any contracting work I need. I am very happy with my remodel and just can't thank them enough.

When I called for the estimate the appointment was scheduled for the next morning. Ed showed up early, did the free estimate, and after careful consideration against the other 4 estimates, we chose Kusiak. Ed was punctual, friendly and professional. Ed, you are the man!!!!! He was able to fit us in very quickly, about two weeks sooner than anyone else. This was a plus because we had a leak and wanted it fixed as soon as possible before any more water got in. The crew was right on time, and very friendly as well. They replaced some of the wood, installed new vents, flashing, ice guards, and beautiful top of the line shingles. I now have a beautiful new roof that does not leak. Thank you soooooo much guys, you are the best. Also had a coupon from Angie's list that saved me $200. The price was right, the timing was right and the company was right. I would and have recommended them in a minute. They get an A++ in my book.

The end result was better than we could have imagined. The entire crew was professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them, will be using them again in the future.
