I pretty much have all the pertinent points covered in the services section.
Description of Work: On June 27, 2012 I brought my car into Mike's, like I had done with my three vehicles for the past five years. It was making engine noise not unlike a rod knocking. I called the second day in what they had found and was asked had I had transmission work or had they done it. I informed the lady who answers the phone that I had a remanufactured trannie installed but what had that to do with the engine knock and instructed her to convey to Mike and his crew TO FIX IT. I called before July 4th and Mike said he was dropping the oil pan to do whatever had to be done. Fast forward through the heat of that week and I was finally informed it was done on Friday July 6th and that two rod bearings had been installed along with two flywheel bolts, which I found odd. I informed them that I would be unable to pick up the car till the following Monday. Monday morning I arrived around 8:30 and was eager to drive it. I paid $694.91 through my debit card. I asked Mike was it ok and he stammered through with an explanation that was vague that sent my stomach turning. By the time I got half way to my sisters house the noise that I brought the car in for returned, slowly getting worse. I called twice to talk to Mike but was informed he was "test driving" a car. I figured he was avoiding me so I would confront him before he closed and was told "he'd try that first" in regard to WHATEVER he did. I asked if the trans figured into the problem but he was moot even when confronted for the charging of two "flywheel bolts'. He kept up with the "this had to be done first' crap ignoring me when I said I had brought my cars for years to his establishment and always left with "the vehicle fixed". To pacify me he would call later (actually it was the woman at the desk) and quote me new and used engine replacements which according to him reflected a "credit" from what I had already spent. That was a lie and there was no refund in the cards. I would definitely stay clear from Mikes shop. It had been a while since I needed his services and this experience has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. And it begs questions. Did he know the shop who installed said transmission and was covering for an incorrect install? Mike participates in stock car racing in the region and no doubt knows EVERYONE involved in auto repair and that could have determined who installed it. But again I didn't take it to the trannie shop cause it SOUNDED LIKE A ROD KNOCKING. Thoroughly disgusted with this and I have little recourse but what you've read seeing my "I've worked with attorneys, spouse" informed me the burden of proof is on me.

We have been dealing with them for 25 years. We have never had any problems with Mike or his crew!!! His prices are high, but within range of the norm. We think he is fair and honest! He has given us a lot of breaks! He will help you as much as he can when you become a regular.Mike just worked on our AC 7/19/11 and it runs nice and cold!!!! He was very honest about it and told my husband there was only a very tiny hole in the hose. So, he put air conditioning stuff in it and it works fine!!! Like somewhere else he could have taken us for a ride (pun intended) LOL! No, seriously, he could have said it was something serious and charged us a bundle. It's happened to us at another time with our AC at another place. They charged us $500 to fix it in another vehicle and it would hardly blow cool air!!! Never did get anywhere with those people! That's when we started going to Mike's when he worked for another fellow and then bought the place from him when he retired. We recommend him to any one that needs serious work or not. He and his crew are the greatest!!!!!
Description of Work: They checked and added atifreeze to the AC.
