JACK'S WHOLESALE WINDOWS & DESIGN

The salesman was very nice and informative, very personable type man. I had set up a contract with Jack's Wholesale Windows & Design. I've used them before. I had just left them a message because after I did the contract I never heard anything back. The most unprofessional experience I've had. They came out and gave me the estimate. They actually came out twice because I had picked a different company that someone referred but their estimate was a little high, so then they came back to try and beat out that other estimate and gave me a considerably less estimate the second time around. That was the end of November and I never heard anything back. I've emailed them and I just left them a voice mail like maybe 20 minutes ago to ask them what was going on because I did sign a contract. I should have been contacted by now.

AWFUL! They sent one worker with his nephew and friends who all joked about being hungover from the night before July 4th party. My window sat in their storage house for two months even after numerous calls to them and being told it wasn't in yet! They had a hard time getting the original window out so they all took turns smashing the glass out like it was a game of who could do more damage. They dented my soffit above the window, put DARK wood putty over the screws on a light wood oak frame, left the insulation hanging out from underneath the window because they "forgot to cap the bottom of the window" and when I wrote a letter to the President outlining all of this was ignored until I finally threatened to get a lawyer involved and only then did they give me 20% off for my "trouble". I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Beware of the salesmen from this company, I budgeted 1 hour for a consult and he took 3 hours! You are also charged extra if you do not make the deal that night. I already knew I wanted the window, I just wish I could have had dinner instead of the sales pitch on products I was not interested in. I was inches away from not using this company solely on the sales tactics. If I were Jim I would revamp this process, seriously Jim, revamp your sales pitch! If the product is as good as you say it is, charging your customer hundreds of dollars more just to think about it a day or two is not good business. There was much talk in the 3 hour sales pitch about the factory trained highly experienced installers. Our window was the largest they made yet they underestimated the time and manpower it would take to install it. My husband had to help them all day and they were so anxious to get out they did not finish the installation properly (ie. Follow the instructions on the order form) I asked them not to put their trim around the window because I wanted wood instead of white but they left raw drywall way out from where the trim would cover, plus raw exposed plywood on the outside of the window. I specifically asked for flashing to protect it. When I called back to address this they just called the installer who then said he would "come by when he was in the area" . It's been 2 months, I don't think he's coming to my area anytime soon. My husband and I did say we would add our own trim but if they left the window in this condition for someone elderly or not handy it would cost hundreds more to finish the job. So far the product is very good and seems well made. I have serious reservations about the company that sells them. Just be warned.

FOR THE FIRST SET OF WINDOWS THAT JACK'S REPLACED, WE WERE VERY PLEASED. THEIR PRICES ARE EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE, AND THE FINISHED PRODUCT TURNED OUT WONDERFULLY. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. FOR THE BAY WINDOW INSTALLATION IN THE LIVING ROOM, HOWEVER, THERE WERE PROBLEMS. OUR SALESPERSON WAS VERY GOOD, AND THEY GAVE A COMPETITIVE PRICE ($3000). THE WINDOW ITSELF IS TOP-NOTCH; YOU CAN'T FIND A BETTER VINYL CLAD WINDOW, DOUBLE-PANE, LOW-E ARGON GLASS WINDOW FOR LESS MONEY. THE EXTERIOR PORTION OF THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE VERY WELL. THE INTERIOR INSTALLATION WAS PROBLEMATIC, HOWEVER. MUCH OF THE SHEETROCK WAS DAMAGED. THE INSTALLER TRIED TO PATCH WITH JOINT COMPOUND. THE RESULT LOOKED TERRIBLE. I REQUESTED THE INSTALLER TO FIX IT, AND WAS TOLD "WE DON'T DO SHEETROCK WORK." I CALLED JACK'S TO HAVE THEIR SUPERVISOR COME OUT AND LOOK AT IT, AND HE DECLINED TO COME SEE IT BECAUSE "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO." TWO VERY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES FROM THE SAME COMPANY.
