J & K Electric

We had a gas leak outside our home and Nipsco said that they would not turn back on our electricity until our weather head was secured. We contacted J&K and they came out and secured the weather head for 250.00.

Called Joe about our infrared quartz heater going out, (which keeps the basement warm) not knowing what was wrong. On the phone he tried troubleshooting with us as to what we could do. With nothing seeming to work and him telling us to he'll be here first thing in the morning to check it out. Upon calling him back with more info about the outlet feeling sticky, concerned about our safety, Joe was here within an hour to fix the problem and put us at ease. For us, no job big or small, Joe will get our call.

Joe responded the same day to my request for an estimate. I was having my old cabinets replaced and wanted some appliance outlets installed. The old houses are just not equipped for todays appliances and I kept tripping the circuits. So I thought it would be smart to have them installed before the cabinets came. My job was a little more complex as the basement was finished and getting into the walls without making a lot of holes was going to be tricky. Mike knew what he was doing and with minimal mess did a great job of installing my new outlets and switches. Mike is not much of a talker as he is busy talking himself through what he is doing. He is very into what he is doing. Joe is a sweet easy going guy. I had a slight problem with a switch and he took the time to make sure it was in correctly. (I was replacing my old switches with the new rocker switches and ran into a problem) I would definitely call these two guys again. The big outfits don't want to deal with the little guys, they all want the big jobs. So when you have a small job its really hard to find someone. Joe can handle the big and the small jobs. As for price. I think Joe is fair. Lets face it Labor is expensive. But I don't think he is out of line. I would definitely recommend these guys.

So far so good. All rough in is completed at this point.

Joe is a true professional. I will be calling him the next time I need an electrician hands down. He understands the value of a customer from returning calls promptly to coming on time and doing the job right the first time. Not a bad thing I can say about this man, I will be recommending him to everyone.

I did not have the work performed

Gave estimate same day as evaluating the work. Arrived on time and completed work in less time than estimated and below cost estimate.

Very happy with the work. Price seemed in line with other estimates. Joseph answered the phone at 7am! If I'd known it would not go to an answering machine, I would never had called that early. But he came out the same day to give an estimate and the work was completed two days later. Very professional looking and cosmetically, the best it could be for the position of the conduit placement. He was also very pleasant.

Very well. They were very cooperative on the timing of the project and did an expert job.

They were very good and I would continue to use them in future.

I called J&K after two other electricians didn't get back to me and another (from Angie's List) gave me an estimate that I considered too high. J&K was able to give me an estimate the same day I called. The workers arrived on that first Saturday to install the kitchen lights and porch light which were without light. The range hood had not yet arrived so they set up another date. On the second and third days they performed the rest of the work and also discovered the basement wiring damaged by the installation of exercise equipment. It was all fixed. This is an old house and most of the work is an adventure. Even the installation of new outlets poses its own problems and they were up to the task. Some of the "imaginative" 60+ year old wiring (that was left untouched by another electrician during a total house rewire) was repaired. This is a family business and the brothers are friendly and punctual. I will be calling them for all my future electrical needs.

J & K DID A REALLY GOOD JOB AT OUR HOUSE. THE SERVICE MAN WAS A REAL JOY TO BE AROUND AND HE WAS A HARD WORKER, TOO. I'VE HIRED THEM MANY TIMES, AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

THE WORK THAT THE SON DID WAS VERY GOOD. HE WAS PLEASANT AND NICE AND DID VERY GOOD WORK. I FELT THAT THE CHARGE FOR THIS WORK WAS EXPENSIVE. I AM NOT GOING TO USE THEM AGAIN.
