The gutter leaked from day one. I have made numerous calls with both the owner and the installer for repairs. Lots of promises, but repairs never done. Now I can not even get a return call.

The original jobs were done in a timely and professional manner. The workers did everything we wanted. It was when we noticed warranty issues that all h*** broke loose. We had a roof and siding done by this same company about 11-12 years ago. Soon thereafter we stated getting staining in the corners of our rooms. We contacted the company and they never would come out...always excuses. About 4 years ago I noticed extreme frosting in the corners of my ceilings. I just thought perhaps the winds were so fierce that the insulation was blown out. The first 2 years I lived with it since I hadn't planned on painting. The third year in the middle of the winter I went up into the attic and proceeded to try to stuff insulation where the frosting was. It was on all corners of every room that faced the North and South. This helped a little bit but the next year it was back in full force. I didn't bother my contractor Two Uncles because they have no warranty process set up. When we had our roof and siding done the first time I had fascia coming off and shingles coming up and I called and called the owner to come back and resolve it and he kept putting us off. I wrote him a letter (he has a non-working complaint email on his website) and he called me when he got the letter chewing me out for being unfair in the letter. So I took his mean response and waited and waited...and he still never came. I ended up having my son go up there and crudely repair what would have taken their workers 15 minutes. Now to this year, we decided to completely paint our inside of the house...so we called the Two Uncle's Owner 5/29 to come here after we had several roofing contractors tell us the roof is not breathing...the opposite of what I thought. He said he'd come...two weeks go by...finally it was raining the second week of June and he brought one of his workers to look it over. They conclude that I did the damage by stuffing insulation. Impossible. There are baffles still in place where the old vents were and it is impossible to stuff past the edge of the protruding baffle...There is NO sunlight coming in even from those points. The Owner's solution...call me every week and remind me to get over and work on it...He even kindly gave us his personal cell phone. So my wife did this often in between redecorating/vacation/weddings etc. and was met with every conceivable excuse possible. It seemed to us because this was a warranty issue that he didn't want to pay his workers out of his pocket to fix it. Finally my wife called October 9th and he went off on her screaming and being so belligerent asking why we hadn't called his insulation guy to hire him to put more insulation in the attic. It was so bad that she just hung up on him. Never will we recommend this unscrupulous business to anyone. Note: the techs did good work but they have no real way to implement any sort of warranty or solution guarantees on their work. It is only lip service. Now I have to hire someone to resolve this issue before the winter sets in or be left with destroyed ceiling in my rooms. BTW, we had to apply in all of the rooms stain sealer and paint 5 coats ceiling paint to cover damage. UPDATE: I have now spent $400 to open up both sides of home to find that the foam board underlayment had seams that we not sealed up with either Tyvek or tape. This cause the influx of air from the soffit to penetrate every open seem thus freezing my ceilings. It is now taped and sealed and fixed. No thanks to the original perpetrators of the problem.
Description of Work: on 2 different occasions different years the place a new roof and then sided the home.

Got a price quote from Garry (owner) which was almost $200.00 less than a previous quote so they were serious about getting the work and we thought they were pricing it right. After agreeing to the quote a date was set up (they are very busy) for the work. They arrived on time with a carpenter to do the wood work and a siding guy for the wrapping along with Garry to show them the project. They got started right away and so as not to lose time Garry actually went and picked up a bit more material needed. They work was completed in a timely fashion the guys were very good and took their time to do the work neatly and correctly as if they were working on their own homes. They finished cleaned up everything and were gone in less time than I anticipated. Would use them again for a most any building or remodeling projects.
Description of Work: Pulled all old rotted wood from around garage door and two basement windows. Replaced all wood and then wrapped with aluminum.

BEWARE!! We signed a contract, but the day before Garry was supposed to start on our roof, he decided to check it to make sure the tear off wouldn't be a problem. When he did that he realized he did not include insulation in our estimate. He came back to us within a day or two and said it would cost us another $3400 to add insulation with labor and materials. After going back and forth, with my husband explaining we have no more money in our budget, Garry decided to walk away from the job, leaving us with an old roof for another winter. Not to mention that we signed the contract on 8/20, and it took 2 months before he got to us to do the job. He returned our cashiers check for materials, but kept our $500 deposit, saying he paid for the permit and a replacement board for the roof, which he gave to us without a receipt. I'm sure 1 board and a permit did not cost $500, and why should I pay for a permit for a job that was not done?

This potential customer is and was absolutely correct. They had a different type of roof and after contacting the manufacturer about the type of roofing that was to be installed the specifications came in and there were additional items that needed to be done in order for the warranty to be intact... It was a new kind of roofing material we had never used. I explained that to them and that I was very sorry but there would have to be an additional charge in order for me to install the roofing and I needed their approval before beginning. They refused to agree to any additional charges and so then I had to return the deposit money that the job could not be completed as estimated. I guess now I am glad we didn't start the job because we probably would have never gotten paid.

My husband and I signed a contract with Garry for a new roof. We gave him $500 deposit to start the job in 4-6 weeks. The contract was signed in August. After 4 weeks, I had to contact him to find out the status of my installation. Of course, due to weather, we were delayed. Again, 2 weeks later I am following up. This time was another job setting him behind. My husband and Inwere going out of town 1 week in October, which we mentioned to him and he said he wasn't concerned, that he could have the job done by then. That did not happen. He wanted to do the job the week we went out of town, which we were not comfortable with. In a later conversation with Garry, he made a comment that we set him behind a week. Really? The day before the job was to start Garry came out to collect 1/2 deposit for materials. When he showed up he had 2 other guys with him. He said he wanted to go on the roof to see how difficult the tear off would be. When he came down from the roof he explained he was concerned because he found insulation under our roof, and he wasn't sure if he included it in the estimate. The next day he sent a text msg to my husband saying it would cost us another $3000 for labor and materials. My husband went back and forth with Garry, explaining that we didn't have any additional funds in our budget, and why was that not already included. After all was said and done, Garry decided to walk away from the job, leaving us with a bad roof for another winter. He finally returned our cashiers check for the material deposit, but has not refunded our $500 deposit after numerous requests from us. His reason is that he paid for the permit and was awaiting a refund from the town, and that he also purchased a replacement board, which he later gave to us, but without a recipt, we agreed to pay for the board as long as he provided a receipt. I sent Garry one last text requesting the deposit again with no reply.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate to tear off and replace a roof, as well as replace siding and build a shed. Due to the amount and what we had budgeted, we could only afford to cover the roof.

My roof leaked into my house over the winter when we had sub-zero temperatures. I contacted Garry at Two Uncles and he came out and swept off my roof and put some salt up there. It stopped leaking into the house after that. As soon as it was warm enough they tore off the old roof and installed a new one. Over the winter while they were waiting for a break in the weather to do the roof, Garry contacted me to say that he found the upgraded roof shingles on sale for the same price as the cheaper shingles I originally selected and he asked if I'd like to upgrade for the same price. I thought that was great that he did that. They did a good job with the installing of the new roof. I have no complaints at all with the service or the work. I would use them again.

We met with Garry in our home and went over all roofing details. Garry was pleasant and responsive to our needs. He laid out the entire process for us in detail and gave us a quick estimate of what we discussed within a couple of days of our meeting. When we finally decided to use Two Uncles to do the work we contacted Garry again. He schedules us for the end of the following week but the next day he found an opening and our roof work began just a couple of days after our contact. Down payment for the work was minimal at $500 and Garry provided a detailed cost sheet via email. The team was on site by 7am the day specified and worked until dark the first day. They were short a man because of a death in the family but the guys who did work worked hard and completed most of the tear off and started the underlayment that day. The job took about 4 days but this was mostly due to weather issues and being understaffed because of family issues. I did not find the length of the job to be a problem and there was never a time when I did not see people working on my roof weather permitting of course. When the job was complete Garry returned with the crew to inpect the roof and talk to us. We pointed out a few things that might be a problem (shingle lifting up after a storm night) but Garry already noticed and had his guys working on it. All work was complete to my satisfaction and final communication and billing was quick and painless. All-in-all a great experience for something of this nature. I would work with this contrator again.

Amazed. For about $600.00 out-of-pocket Two Uncles Remodeling helped me solve my long distance roofing problem. I'm a property owner living in Northern California and I was informed by the tenant in a single family rental home in Gary, IN that the roof was damaged by hail from two storms this past Winter/Spring. As a member of Angie's List with a subscription location for Northwest Indiana (so I would be able to research services in the region where I own two properties) I was able to study the Angie's List reviews and able to make a prioritized list of roofing contractors that might help me solve the roof damage problem without having to come to Indiana to get a quality job done. I called one contractor and he did not do work in Gary, IN, so I went to the next one on my list and Garry Mang of Two Uncles Remodeling called me the next day after a nice lady in his office quickly passed on my request for help to him. Mr. Mang did not hesitate to help me even though I was in California and working with me would be extra complicated. Within a few days, he made contact with the tenant and went out to assess the damage and provided me with an initial estimate. I decided to make an insurance claim and informed Mr. Mang of my intent. He volunteered to meet the insurance claim adjuster at the house to assist in any way he could. My insurance agent was happy that Mr. Mang was involved because he said they trusted Two Uncles Remodeling. This made me more comfortable, so when I was informed by the insurance company that my claim was approved for funding, I hired Two Uncles Remodeling to do the job. Communication during the job from Mr. Mang was regular and included pictures he sent to me via text before, during and after the work. Mr. Mang also took care of submitting all necessary information directly to the insurance company for me. He gave me the best and the most reassuring service I could have reasonably expected so I made sure to reply promptly to his phone, email and text requests for my input and I arranged to make sure he was paid quickly when the insurance company sent disbursements.
Description of Work: In Gary, Indiana, Garry Mang, of Two Uncles Remodeling, established regular communication with property owner in Northern California (this review writer) and with house tenants, assessed roof damage, worked directly with home owners insurance provider, performed required roof replacement (house, separate garage, separate shed), replaced gutter and ice shields, and replaced partial siding.

I left a message on Thursday and he called back on Friday to schedule an appointment on Saturday morning. Time frame was very vague, almost like the window of time the cable companies give. Nevertheless, I cleared my saturday morning to wait for him. Waiting was all I ended up doing all day. He NEVER showed up, never called to say he was running late or needed to reschedule. THREE DAYS LATER.... STILL NOTHING. I've read a lot of reviews regarding contractors that never show up or that fail miserably to communicate. I don't understand why it's so commonplace. How do you expect to make good business? Why do you bother advertising yourself if you're not going to follow through? Even the last reviewer said he needed to "stay on him" to keep good communication. Why should that be MY job????? No tolerance for no-shows.... ever.

We needed to have our roofing replaced. This would require a complete tear off of the old roof and re-roofing. We also needed new soffits, gutters, downspouts, fascia, and some new roof sheathing. Our house is 52 years old and none of this had been done before. We called in Two Uncles based on the reviews here on Angie's List. Boy, are we glad we did. Garry Mang came out within a few hours to talk to us about what we wanted done and to take measurements on which to base the estimate. After we accepted the estimate it wasn't long until work began on the house. Now, I will admit that initially I was a little concerned with whoever we'd hire to do the work. So many people in this area have complained about the work done by their roofers. There was no need to worry. The people who worked on our house were professionals. They worked hard and knew what they were doing. The quality of the material was very good. The work of the men was excellent. My husband has been heard to say that the house looks nearly new now. I can't imagine what would have happened had we hired someone else. They say the test of a company is to ask "would you hire them again?" My answer in the case of Two Uncles is absolutely, and without a moment's doubt.

The estimate was timely and reasonably accurate, there some were some additional materials needed. Gary actually sealed up a small whole in our roof that was causing some leakage while he was assessing the work for an estimate. We did have a slight weather delay in the schedule, but they worked on Saturday to make up the time lost. The team was very neat and there was no debris left over. Overall we were very pleased with their service and professional attitude. We have some small home repairs needed and we will not hesitate to include them in the bid's for this work.

I asked them for an estimate to install ductwork that would allow me to vent my dryer outside. They came out and had a look around, told me that they would submit a bid within a couple of days. The job was started on time, finished on time, and at the previously agreed price. I believe that the job went very well and that I received good value for the money.
Description of Work: The portion of the roof above the dormer on my rental property was replaced as well as the installation of new windows in the dormer and new siding on the dormer. I worked with the estimator to come up with the right kind of roofing that would blend in with the existing roofing, pick out the replacement windows, and pick out the siding type and color. On the day of the installation the installer supervisor informed me that another color of siding (a light brown) would look better than the white siding that I had chosen. I was hesitant about making the change because the job had already started and I didn't want to delay its completion. He said that it would be no problem and that the job would not be delayed in the slightest. The job was completed the same day it was started. The workmanship was good and they cleaned up the area after they finished the job. I have not had any problems in the area that they worked either with water leaking or with the windows' operation. This company is always on my "short list" of contractors that I call to get job estimates.
