He charged me $3500 for full prep and full coverage, he did neither. When he was just to tape off the part of the baseboard, there was an eighth of an inch of burgundy showing through a creamy color on the bottom, actually he hadn't covered it. So they came in afterwards and caulked all along my baseboards but did not put paint over the caulks, and now I have a white stripe all along my baseboards on one side of my living room up where the wall meets the ceiling and then he never even cut in around the fan in my bedroom. He was back 3 different times all because issues had been addressed with him and I told him I don't think he'll be able to cover the dark colors in the way that he said he could. It didn't work and he refused to come back and finish the job so I need to take him to court because I paid that much money because the place hasn't been painted in 25 years, and I knew there would be a lot of work so I paid him for that work and he did a silly job, I can't put it any other way. I've renovated houses. He didn't cover anything, I've got paint splatters all over my fireplace, it's just bad. It was outlandish, I thought I was paying to get all the patchwork done, stucco is still in places where tape is lifting on the corners, I thought they stucco those down, they didn't do that at all. You look around and it's a bad paint job, they didn't even tack the walls. I'm not usually this harsh on anybody, I would never ever be able to tell anybody to do this and I've never sued anybody before, and now I'm suing them. You live and let live when people don't do very well but this guy knew that he was doing it wrong and he knew he was ripping me off. He came back 3 times and the reason he had to come back 3 times was because he did such a bad job. For his responsiveness, he did come back but in terms of a woman looking at him and saying he is going to use 2 coats of paint to cover teal and burgundy, it's not going to work, he has to put teals on it first or something to cover the color and he said the paint will work and said he's sure of it. I told him I really don't think it's going to work and I'm paying him for full coverage and I brought that back up and he refused to do another coat and he refused to do any further fixing. He was to fix all the cracks in the walls but he didn't do it. He responded, yes, but his original job was so bad there was no way for him to fix it. I'll never use them again. He came over with 1 extension ladder, he didn't even have the equipment to do the job and he agreed to do it.
