Moss Roofing

The owner, Steve Moss, came out himself. I thought I needed replacement windows because the seal had broken, and suspected I also needed some siding replacement. He checked out both areas thoroughly, and suggested that since the windows operate well and don't seem to leak cold air in the winter, that the broken seal is more of a cosmetic issue. He told me that Argon seals rarely last more than 8 years, and that I could contact a window glass company and have the glass replaced on one side to remove the "frosted" look, rather than have the entire window replaced. He also said that I don't need new siding, and that it is normal for some dirt to work its way under the siding. He showed me how to manipulate the siding to clean up the problem. In all, he spent about twenty minutes at my home, reassured me on two separate issues, and didn't charge me. I couldn't ask for a more honest, courteous person to work with. When I do need any work on the outside of my home, I will definitely have Moss Roofing perform it.

This is the 2nd time we've had Steve Moss replace our roofing due to hail damage. He worked with our insurance company to get all the work done within our budget. Very professional work done at reasonable rates. The crew was fast and cleaned everything up. If we need roofing done again, I would not hesitate to call them.

We received the quote Sept. 23. They didn't come do the work until May. As you can see in the quote, it says they would be 6-8 weeks out, worst case scenario. They cited cooler weather as prohibiting their painting work, so they put the whole job off. The gutters, which were in bad shape when they saw them, had to make it through the whole winter, as did the pipe boots, which they suggested we replace because they could leak. I was the one who reached out in the spring to see if they would be coming to do the work. When they were ready they called my cell on a Sunday and I missed the voicemail. They emailed my work email on a Sunday, which I didn't see. I walked out my front door on Monday morning to go to work and saw the crew waiting in their truck. The gutters were not cleaned out because no one even emailed that that would be necessary over the 8 months that we'd waited. They worked on the gutters and knew that wood around the gutters had been rotting (that was why I called them initially). They didn't bring wood to replace it! They were not going to replace it until my husband asked. They didn't actually replace it, but covered it with some sort of flashing, saying that is what they'd do on their own home. That seems to be holding up, since they seem to have fixed the gutters, so that there is no overflow during normal rain. However, the seams that they sealed on the gutters are still leaking. I asked that they return to fix that and was told we needed to clean out the gutters and they needed to be dry before they could do it. It has been very rainy, so I declined because of their timing/scheduling problems before, I don't want to deal with that. I found at least four nails on my deck that they left behind after working on the gutters. They sent me a "gentle reminder" to pay my invoice around a month after they'd completed the work, but I hadn't seen rain at my house by that time, since I'm not always home. So I had paid them before I saw the gutters were still leaking. Took them 8 months to do that work at my house, but I was required to pay them before I ever saw if the work they did held up. I used this company, even with the long wait, because a colleague had a good experience. I can't say I was blown away, but the biggest concern I had about my house seemed to be resolved by their work.

We had a wonderful experience with Moss Roofing! Not only did they do a good job replacing the roof, but their customer service was excellent! They went above and beyond to help us work through our insurance and mortgage companies and were they were very flexible with their time, often meeting us after we got off work in the late evening. We will definitely use Moss Roofing if we need roofing services again!

It was a smooth process. George, Patrick, and Beverly were all wonderful to communicate with during the process. George came out on the day before Thanksgiving to determine a quote. Compared to other companies, George measured every inch of our home to give us an exact estimate. He drew detailed pictures of our home to make sure everything that we wanted was noted. After we agreed to the estimate, George came back to our home to settle the details (color, styles, etc). This was a thorough meeting. We discussed moving some electrical wiring that was on the exterior to underneath the new siding to hide it. George explained the pros and cons to every detail we requested. He was a straight shooter and we valued his honesty and integrity. Some weeks later, Beverly and Patrick called to set up the project start date. Everything was communicated/clarified clearly that should be (where to hang the permit, remove pictures on the interior that were hanging the exterior walls, where they should place the materials, etc). The project was completed while we were at work. The total time was about 6 days from start to finish. And the final product was flawless. George scheduled a final walk-through to make sure we were completely pleased. He made note of a couple items that were fixed a few days later by their technician. I cannot say enough good things about this company. A+++++++ Not only did they price competitively, but beat their competitors on service!

Moss Roofing worked diligently with the Insurance adjuster to insure the job was completee to my satisfaction. The crew worked hard and were very courteous. There pricing was very comparable to all the other quotes i recieved. Would definitely hire them again.

Moss Home Improvements did a wonderful job! Bev kept us up to date on when the repairs would be made. Weather is a problem this time of year. George stopped by to check up on the progress and make sure we knew exactly what to tell the gutter installation crew on the placement of the extra down spouts. They cleaned up all litter made in the installation process. I am so very happy I found Moss Home Improvements on Angie's List!!!

They were quick, very professional, careful to wait for a day without rain and a pleasure to work with. Very willing to negotiate with the insurance companies to get to the best price and provide necessary documents. This roof and the previous roof look beautiful.

Beverly Moss and her team did such an outstanding job for us on our entire housing project. Beverly put in countless hours working with our insurance company/adjuster to help us get the correct amount of money due to us from the storm damage. I cannot say enough about Beverly's professional and courteous disposition. It was a pleasure working with her and she was a huge help!! Benny and his team did an amazing job with replacing our roof, siding, gutters and soffit and installing new windows. Benny was always very professional and punctual in his communications with us. He followed through with all our requests and questions and made sure the jobs being performed at our house were going the way we expected. Moss prides themselves on quality, and they do not disappoint. From the material to the labor, everything exceeded our expectations. We still have other projects to complete on our home but will definitely have Moss come out and do the job!!

Once again Bev Moss and her team of guys out did themselves in providing awesome service and getting the job done. Bev was always in touch as to when they would be there and what work was to be done. We had a few issues with the insurance adjustor but between Bev and myself we got it done. I cannot say enough about this company or my experience with them in the last few months or a few years ago. if neceassary I will not hesitate at all in getting in touch with them for any improvement needs I come across.

During one of the heavy rains in September, we woke up to water dropping in through the ceiling. I called Beverly at Moss Home Improvements and explained the problem. She had George come out the same day to do an estimate. George was wonderful in pointing out the problems and explaining what needed to be done. He took many, many photos to show to us. We agreed to have the roof replaced. Within a few days Benny called and stopped by to put a tarp on the worst spots because more rain was in the forecast. The new roof was installed in one day! The area was cleaned very well. We are extremely pleased with the new roof! I recommend Moss Home Improvements highly!!!

My husband and I are retired. I wanted the gables covered with siding so he wouldn't be climbing a ladder to paint. Moss Home Improvements came to do the estimate on time and were below our other estimates. They finished the vinyl today. They cleaned up the area very well. The siding looks wonderful! They were very polite and explained what they were doing. The company kept us up to date on when everything would be started and finished. Excellent work!!!

Trust me Angie's List clients, call Moss Home Improvements if you have hail-damaged property. CALL THEM ! I'm a mid-sixties retired person who has been an Angie's List client for many, many years. NO ONE has helped me more than Beverly Moss at Moss Home Improvements. Our insurance provided denied our hail damage claim twice. Beverly Moss put my wife and I in contact with a State of Indiana Insurance Adjuster who helped us convince our insurance company that we indeed had damage, and that damage has now been paid for by our insurance provider. This would NOT have happened without Beverly Moss' help. If you've got home improvement needs or especially "storm-damage", CALL this company. You will thank me for posting this comment. Honest truth !!

Having never gone through a roof replacement, I was apprehensive and dreading the experience but Bob Clapp and his team at Moss made the entire process a breeze. I'd received full replacement value from my insurance company and Bob worked with me to replace my roof within those parameters and the work was done timely (delays only due to the spring weather) and professionally. Bob was available by email & text with updates, the office staff was responsive and owner Bev Moss called me the night before the job to ensure my questions had been answered and to thank me for the business. The day of the job, as communicated, the shingles arrived prior to 7 am; the crew arrived by 7:15 and promptly got to work, finishing up by 4:30 the same day (2500 sq ft, 2-story house). I was most impressed by the care the crew gave to my yard and landscaping, covering my deck and plants with tarp, moving the furniture back where they'd found it. I noted that they cleaned up as they went and, after they left, i couldn't find even a handful of debris and only one plant stem was bent! I couldn't have asked for a better result! I hope not to be in need of another roof any time soon but would definitely use Moss again without hesitation.

We have not worked with Moss in years. I was pretty happy with them. They did the job and it was good work.

On 4/1/14 I called and the owner took a message and had George call to set up a time for the estimate. George came right over and gave me an estimate. They were $100 less than other estimates. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The other companies just looked and wrote an estimate . George researched whether my siding was still available and called me back with the information that it wasn't made anymore. He than came over again with samples for me to look at and pick the one I felt matched best, I gave them a small deposit (cost of siding) and placed an order for the siding.. On 4/11/14 George arrived on time and well prepared to do the job alone. It took very little time and was done beautifully. I am extremely pleased with the work and plan on having Moss as our regular repair company for all future repairs needed on my home. I highly recommend them.

Unfortunately, the quoted price was a bit more than one I had gotten from another Angie's list company.

Moss Home Improvements Inc found out what the issue was, but it wasn't something they could fix. They did look at it and didn't charge me anything. I took a video of the leak and sent it to them. They came and looked at it and took picture of it for me and emailed it for me.

They were outstanding. They were successful in obtaining hail damage coverage by our insurance company (our neighbors had trouble with the same agency). They met the adjuster on the roof and the next thing I knew the adjuster was handing me a check. Moss handled everything in the most professional manner, and even replaced some gutter which was slightly damaged by their workmen, when I had not even noticed it. [Note: I am resubmitting this review because the one I originally submitted was somehow lost and a telephone interview used in its place. I only just became aware of this.]

Called Moss out for a consulton a siding issue. My wife chose another contractor and we regretted the decision. Moss is very responsive and I will use them the next time I have a need.

Moss Home Improvements Inc came to my house and examined the hail damage done to my home, put together an estimate and explained it to me in great detail. They negotiated with my insurance company over the extent of damage done to my home and convinced them to replace the whole roof, not just half of it as the insurance company was suggesting. They sent a large enough crew to get the entire job done in one day. They repaired some weak areas in the decking and put some aluminum flashing material over some voids near the fascia board where animals could get into the attic. They cleaned up all debris and ran a magnet over the area picking up any nails on the ground. The entire project went very smooth from start to finish because everyone, from the office personnel to the construction workers, was knowledgeable of the trade and executed it professionally. I will use Moss Home Improvements again and recommend them highly.

New roof on home and garage (small one story single family home, detached one car garage); Replaced siding on house; new gutters and downspouts; one new window. Worked was performed as they stated.
